Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

LinusDKD · 10/01/2015 21:31

Romantic classic sounds great lib! I love loads of pins on that board, right up my street.

muddling do you also have Kylie, Britney and Abba on your playlist? Grin

shop we'll keep you company! DH is off next week as well for a whole week Sad

I should be used to it by now but having him home for a few weeks in a row has been so nice.

shopafrolic · 10/01/2015 21:32

So, when you get a minute, message me the key words / shapes of stuff. Remind me of your dress size and tell me about jewellery too. Exciting! DH goes at 6am next Sat so it'll be lovely to be distracted.

OP posts:
Karbea · 10/01/2015 21:59

lib how did she work out what style you are?

Alsoflamingo · 10/01/2015 22:05

Right - I decided to bite the bullet and embrace the sheer tonight. Had a family birthday thing so flung on proper FROCK and sheer black tights. First ladder appeared within an hour - one pair of Wolfords down. Next pair laddered within next hour. So 2 hours in and 2 pairs of sodding Wolford tights down. I am remembering why I don't wear the sodding things…...

Alsoflamingo · 10/01/2015 22:05

Sorry - realise total non sequitur. Will catch up with thread and post something appropriate in due course!

shopafrolic · 10/01/2015 22:08

Oh no Also that's an expensive night out :(

OP posts:
libertychick · 10/01/2015 22:12

That's a PITA also.

karbea they do a personality questionnaire, take measurements to assess proportions, look at the clothes you have brought, assess your body shape and I think a lot of it is just judgement. She decided fairly quickly i was classic but spent a bit of time debating if I was natural or romantic. My curly hair and the textures of my favourite Mango jacket was making her think natural but after chatting to me about lifestyle preferences decided romantic. They also take account of your opinion. After she had talked through what the types were I was very much leaning towards romantic.

Karbea · 10/01/2015 22:14

also tights are a pain for that, but two in a night is good going!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/01/2015 23:29

Hi all! shop sorry for the late reply Wink I've got my mum and sister staying. Poor DP has gone out, the chat is all colours, style and weddings!

Wow lib blue autumn! That's what my sister is. So glad you're happy with it. My mum is a dark summer, lots of lovely mother of the bride colours.

So, my style diagnosis was...

Romantic Classic Hmm Shock Grin

I'm not convinced and need to sleep on it. To be fair the day was a bit rushed, which was understandable but also a bit rubbish. I enjoyed parts of it (the yin/yang questionnaire was good) but overall I feel a bit disillusioned with the process. I'm glad I did it, as I would have always wondered otherwise, but I don't think I'm going to do anything differently because of it.

I could write loads trying to explain, but it would just be dull waffle! Maybe things will be clearer tomorrow.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/01/2015 23:40

Thanks for the pinboard link QueenC. Lots of it is nice. I have to say I can see Lib in the more 1950s stuff, not me though.

Consultant is sending us some more info in email so maybe that will help.

Forgot to say as well, my sister is a Natural Ingenue, she is happy! (Sort of like QueenC but ingenue on the inside and wears her clothes in a natural way.)

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 01:05

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 01:23

Oh Blair so sorry to hear your day was disappointing. Perhaps you're right ...see how you feel tomorrow today

Love a "non sequitur" I do

Amber nude and grit. Are you sure you're not a northerner?

Have had a fab evening. My dress was brill....but the full length exposed zip caused all sorts of excitement as people got more pissed nit a prob if I hadn't been wearing Spanx
Felt terrible for my gorgeous friend when a straight talking/pissed woman whom he knows asked him if he were gay.....then he said "yes, so sorry Dry" .....Sad why? I knew all along and really makes no difference to me.

I live such a sheltered life. Despite living in London in my 20s didn't do clubs at all. saddo

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 01:28

I'm pissed Grin. But oh my goodness, can't believe that you are both romantic classics.

Although blair Flowers for you if you feel it's the wrong diagnosis

Stokey · 11/01/2015 07:26

Was there one that you would have preferred Blair? Pencil skirts are still quite classic and 50s Grin but I know I would struggle with the pretty, frilly bits of romantic. So interesting that you, your sister and your mum are all different seasons. My mum and I were the same which to be honest made our session feel a bit ordinary. I felt like the consultant was really looking for subtle differences between us in our starred colours. And she pinpointed DM as Jewel straight away but only have me a type of winter when I pushed her.

I remember The Cross too Karbea, didn't all the Aussies in London hang out there on Sundays? That area has changed so much, it's amazingly nice now behind Kings Cross, instead of filled with junkies and prostitutes.

It's so typical that I have had to wake my children up every day this week but on a Sunday, they're both up by 7 zzzzzzz.
