Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

My. Head. Hurts. It was a great night though, one of those where I wasn't in the mood but after a couple few glasses of wine I really enjoyed it. I've been cleaning vomit up though since 4. Dd and ds have both got my bug (little dd was sick on Friday) so Im knackered as well as hungover.

lib it sounds like a great diagnosis for you. I remember at the last meet up you saying that you were happier in a skirt and blouse so I think grown up glam is definitely you. blair how are you feeling this morning?

So it's Sunday morning so time for links. Still having a shoe obsession so might focus on that....

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 08:18

Love the detailing on these

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 08:23

Love these boots

Fedupnagging · 11/01/2015 08:25

I used to love clubbing and went as often as possible between the ages of 16 Blush and about 22. After that, not so much. Now, I couldnt stay awake long enough!

Lib sounds like you really enjoyed your style day. Blair sorry you were disappointed. Do you think it's a case that you need to try on some different looks and get used to them or that she got it completely wrong? What 'season' are you?

Also oops! back to the opaques I guess?

Dry sounds like you had a good time last night but your poor friend, he must have felt terribly embarrassed. Lovely dress btw.

Queen how is your head this morning? Grin

I should have gone out both Friday and last night but really couldn't be bothered so didn't go. lightweight Most unlike me as usually love getting dressed up and socialising but have to say, really enjoyed relaxing on the sofa with a glass of fizz.

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 08:28

Love these sandals

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 08:45

cute flats

libertychick · 11/01/2015 09:05

Blair really sorry you are not happy with your style diagnosis. I sort of know what you mean about being disappointed with the content of the day. A lot of the stuff covered like where and how to shop and cpw etc is stuff I feel I know already. I think you definitely are classic. I wonder if she went romantic because you are very pretty and have a softer rather than more angular face? I think you have an edgier vibe than me and I think the 'romantic classic' feels like a slightly older diagnosis too so I am fine with it at 41 but i can see howvit doesnt feel like such a good fit for you as a very young looking 28. I am probably waffling a bit now....

BrandyAlexander · 11/01/2015 09:29

Morning everyone! after a busy day (birthday party central!) and i had such a brilliant night out last night. You wouldn't exactly describe my outfit as erm chic.Grin

QueenC glad the top suited you. I saw someone else wearing a similar top in town yesterday and it looked great because it was a good fit. my loss, your gain.Smile

Blair I think of myself as a very typical classic dresser. It fits my personality and lifestyle and I embrace it. I am fairly sure in my 20s I wanted to be more edgy but really didn't know how so I was kind of fighting against myself. I see you as another classic but as Lib says I totally understand your reaction.

I just wanted to say Maras dvf links were fab the other day. loved my hold dress, pity I have no where to wear it to! I thought others were spot on especially Lib's.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2015 09:34

Blair I do think you can do drama. You looked amazing in the Zarita and earrings. And they are classic but with an edgier twist. It would be a shame to lose that very pretty + refined drama as it suits you so well.

Lib you can do the pretty and classic. I keep thinking back to that skirt I love, fuller one - that definitely stays doesn't it?

libertychick · 11/01/2015 09:47

Which skirt Marsha? I can't get onto pin at the moment but I think I know the one you mean and tragically I don't own it just wish I did Grin.

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2015 09:52

Lib I think it's one you bought. Red?

I can't quite remember to describe it accurately. I'm out of pin on my phone too, accidentally logged out dammit. Will have a look when on the Mac.

libertychick · 11/01/2015 10:11

Oh yes. The H&M one. That's a definite keeper! Linus has it in black. It is a really good orangey red. It is in the very small pile of autumn clothes!

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 10:11

The H and M one lib

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 10:13

Oops x post
But liberty I loved you in your black biker jacket, youmust keep that

LinusDKD · 11/01/2015 10:46

Morning!

blair sorry to hear your style day left you feeling a bit dissapointed.

I think that maybe you should use the information as a sort of foundation you can build on but not stick to too rigourously.

I feel that most people have very different styles in them otherwise things start too look too much like dressing up or wearing a costume (a bit like Dita Von Teese. She looks stunning and it is part of the 'product' she's selling but sometimes I would like to see her in a jeans and tee)

I am definitely a classic but I do like boyish and more elegant styles at the same time. So I like wearing the skirt lib has also (mine is black) and channel my inner Audrey but I also like wearing my Jimmies with a baseball tee.

Enough rambling, I hope it makes some sense.

maradesbois · 11/01/2015 11:05

Morning,

Regarding last night's chat I have absolutely no desire to relive the early twenties clubbing years fab though it all was at the time. Cocktails or champagne in a nice bar until late very welcome though, don't do it often enough.

Blair I would describe you as Kate Middleton's edgier and more natural cousin Grin ie classic and pretty but without the heavy makeup, hair 'do' and a bit of an edge to both the clothes and accessories without going too far eg your stella skirt is classic pencil shape with florals (natural?) but the neon takes it out of Kate's safe territory.

Think lib has it right that we all know our own style pretty well on here already.

I spent ages last night looking at colour boards. Think I am definitely warm toned so some sort of spring or autumn. Not going to take it any further but interesting to understand why bright golden yellows do suit my pale skin.

Wore my burgundy Acne colts for the first time yesterday. Was starting to think they were a bad buy still in box after 2 months and too hight for daytime. Managed however to do a dc party and walk home in the midst of the tempest no problem plus got loads of compliments so v glad to have them.

bettykt · 11/01/2015 11:21

Blair sorry to hear the diagnosis wasn't quite what you expected. I wholeheartedly agree with what Mara said based on seeing you irl and those clothes you link. Take time to digest what the HOC lady said and maybe call her later on in the week with some questions.

I think my style is pretty similar to Dry , Linus and Belindaallworkedout.

Libertyand Shop I see some great clothes swapping going on here.

Loved the clubbing chat going on here last night. I was watching double Spiral. I was s bit of a clubbed but not hard core, I lived in the provinces so was not au fait with the London scene. I started out drinking cider black, how classy then moved onto lager and lime, in my defence I was in my teens at the time Blush

Having a lazy Sunday here, will probably go out on my bike with the dc, I could really do with the exercise.

bettykt · 11/01/2015 11:22

the clothes you link

bettykt · 11/01/2015 11:24

Crikey flaming IPad, I was a bit of a clubber I wasn't clubbed Grin

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2015 11:27

Mara I'm the same. It was fun at the time but I don't miss it. Give me a lovely place with champers. We probably spend too much on that though.

Completely agree with pretty plus edge - that neon in the floral skirt exactly

BrandyAlexander · 11/01/2015 11:48

Grin bettykt

dh is still asleep. lucky for some.Hmm

AmberNectarine · 11/01/2015 12:15

I got in at 4am, funnily enough I didn't feel the cold by then.

AmberNectarine · 11/01/2015 12:22

Blair one of the friends I did my style day with is also RC, she wears lots of pencil skirts, lace, silk blouses, animal prints etc. she's very glam and looks fabulous.

Fedupnagging · 11/01/2015 12:35

Shock Amber but that's nearly morning! What do you do with your dc's? Does your babysitter stay all night? We used to spend a fortune on babysitters.

Queen are there any style boards for the different style types? I couldn't really find much except for your link.

Am considering this dress
And
this dress at the moment although am not meant to be buying any clothes in January. Will see how long I hold out!

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 12:50

Lovely dresses Fedup

I agree Blair you are an edgy classic think it's all nonsense tbh you can wear a pencil skirt and look cool and edgy in a J Crew Way Jenna thingy whereas I have to watch put I don't look frumpy in mine.

Have just been to the gym with a mild hangover, horrible. Now want to dress all snugly and sit on the sofa and eat soup as it's still foul outside......think boyfriend jeans, jumper, big cardi, scarf, socks, slippers

Just been reading about "girlfriend" jeans...Confused whatever next?

Fabletics mentioned in Style Sleep coincidence ? Hmm
