Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

Stokey I woke up in the night thinking about it. Absolutely chilling to think this was a carefully considered assassination. Journalists should expect to face physical danger reporting from war zones but not due to the content of their copy. Lots of uplifting peaceful reactions though.

On a lighter note, Lib 4 months???

Karbea · 08/01/2015 14:12

liberty I know I'm always popping in and out of London and of course dh is working there a lot of the time. It's frightening but you can't let a few idiots ruin your life.
Yes I am going for a total makeover.

QueenCardigan · 08/01/2015 14:27

I agree, it was very shocking. I was working in London at the time of 7/7 and it was very scary.

karbea all sounds very exciting. I follow those hoc ladies (and a few others) on Facebook.
lib 4 months??? I would have to leave. We're going to stay with IL for a couple of days at half term but at least we then get 4 days at centre parks afterwards to relax!

Feeling so much better today but after a morning chasing dd around I sm fit to drop now. Wish I had time for a cheeky nap before pick up.

It was a few years ago and it was an exceptional circumstance - her home was not safe to live in following the Christchurch earthquakes so she came to stay with us while the family in NZ sorted out getting her rehoused. It wasn't easy though especially as she was deeply shocked and diagnosed with PTSD following the quakes and obviously very distressed at losing her home. The PTSD caused some memory issues and we couldn't even let her walk to the local park alone as she kept getting lost. It was hard work but I am glad we were there for her at the time. She has the saving grace of being absolutely hilarious often unintentionally.

Karbea · 08/01/2015 18:28

Random question of the day: what do you keep your dirty linen in? In our room we've two linen drawstring bags that I got years ago from the white company, they are passed their sell by date and I need to replace them, our house is fairly cottage like so I don't want anything too modern... Any ideas?

muddlingalongquitenicely · 08/01/2015 18:57

I have a nice dark wicker basket with a cotton lining cant remember where i got it from the kids on the other hand use the floor on the landing to dump it when i ask for the washing. They have pop up baskets in their rooms but never use them i refuse to do their washing unless its put in the right place (they are teenagers)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/01/2015 19:20

Hope your MIL is okay now Lib, that sounds horrible to go through.

Karbea the 13th is soon - yay! Not long to wait.

I need a new laundry basket too. Currently we have 2 primark popups Blush I want a 3 compartment one (for darks, lights and delicates) but the only one I can find so far is this which I really like but has a bad review. It also needs to be small, so that DP can't let his share pile up!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/01/2015 19:21

Oooh wow just found this posh looking one. I like!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 08/01/2015 19:41

I like that one as well Blair my hubby made me one similar in the old airing cupboard in my old house. No where to put one where we live now

QueenCardigan · 08/01/2015 19:44

Goodnesvlib that sounds traumatic for all of you.

karbea we just have an old wicker laundry basket. Big dd has a pop up one in her room yet still fails to use it all of the time. As she's 9 sometimes I take pity on her and will collect school uniform off the floor.

Karbea · 08/01/2015 20:09

I'd like two sections, one for dry cleaning and one for regular washing. I quite like the bags although if I go down that route again I want hooks put up.
I'm thinking maybe this but have it personalised with "laundry", "dry cleaning" rather than having our house name on it.

Karbea · 08/01/2015 20:09

blair I know the 13th is soon! bit nervous now

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2015 20:29

I have a really crappo 3 section one from ikea for the same purposes as blair. Would love to replace with something nicer!!

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 20:33

Just a wicker basket here too.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 20:47

Lib that must have been tough for all of you. Very nice thing to do though.

Shop Thanks for the outnet acne text. Did you see anything you liked?

libertychick · 08/01/2015 20:47

Clever DH muddling.

We have a window seat in the bay window in the bedroom and laundry gets chucked into one of the compartments in an ancient laundry bag. In DD's room I use a plastic bucket that used to be her nappy bin!

shopafrolic · 08/01/2015 21:01

I saw loads Marsha but I'm not spending at the moment. How about you?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 21:02

Ditto.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 21:07

Bit dull really. I'm not used to it!

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 21:08

Although if I stopped going out so much for lunch and dinner I might be able to get some clothes.

Karbea · 08/01/2015 21:16

This might be ok... Maybe a bit twee?

justasecond · 08/01/2015 21:17

Thats a lovely thing to do for your mil Lib
I have been feeling really sad and depressed too about recent events, None of us is safe from evil crazy people like that no matter what our beliefs are.
Is your hoc thing soon too Lib? Can't wait to find out what season you are.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2015 21:24

Justa Sad I know

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2015 21:26

lib a very lovely thing to do for your mil

libertychick · 08/01/2015 21:31

Ah but if you stopped going out Marsha the lovely new clothes would just hang sadly unworn in your wardrobe.

Hugs Justa, it is horrible. Fundamentalists don't care who is hurt. It is all about their selfish messed up views.

My HoC day is Saturday, I'm like a child waiting for their birthday!
