Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

I subscribe to lots of things, so much so that I miss any important emails due to so much junk, I must unsubscribe from things this year. It would be great to only get a couple of emails a day.
Yes the doggies go to school (dog training) on a Wednesday. It's close to my parents so I see them on a Wednesday too. But yes it's a very good school, which is why I drive about 40mins to take them there ;)

shopafrolic · 07/01/2015 18:12

My DH utters the totally useful words
"Calm down"
Obvs that makes me feel totally zen like! Angry

I'd be included to throw the tape at him. Which is obviously not the point!

QueenCardigan · 07/01/2015 18:43

I get "is it that time of month again" Grin. Seriously though dh knows when I need time away or to go for a run and he dislikes me being so angsty. Im not sure that I could bear to listen to a mediation app though.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 07/01/2015 19:56

Mine knows when i say im going in the bath with a glass of wine that i need destressing time or sometimes just a good cry. Had some awful work stress last year pretty much lived in the bathroom

Awks · 07/01/2015 20:54

Well done One, you must be so relieved. And Grin re the tartan shirt bargains too

bettykt · 07/01/2015 20:54

I might try the meditation too. I keep going to bed later and later. Like you Blair my head is busy but my body is tired. I don't subscribe to any blogs or many emails. This year I'm determined not to buy too much cr@p that I don't need.

All my purchases arrived today and surprise surprise they're all keepers. That never normally happens. The Jcrew plaid shirt and Dannie pants fit well and I'm wearing my Hush pjs now, nice and snuggly.

QueenC interesting how you mentioned it was easier to catch up on here after a week. You are so right. Sometimes I fret that I haven't acknowledged everyone's circumstances. Now the holidays are over I may not check in as much I really need to read more during my downtime and less time on the IPad. I think I'll try tonight as I'm determined to finish my book I've been reading for forever.

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2015 21:03

thank you all, I am hugely relieved as I'd convinced myself I wasn't going to pass it. It's like a weight off, a big one Smile

Not bad bargains eh Awks

It's been a pretty good day overall despite me still feeling pretty grotty though I don't feel as bad as yesterday.

libertychick · 07/01/2015 21:12

Did you start packing yet for Friday One? Hope you are recovered before you travel.

I did a cardio class this evening, was hard work and now I can't stop eating, just had crackers and cheese, a couple of olives and a banana. So that's basically the calories replaced as fast as I burn them Smile

OneLittleLady · 07/01/2015 21:17

Packing in the morning lib I head down tomorrow when I'm ready. Don't want to be rushing around on friday trying to drop my stuff off before the show so going down tomorrow

libertychick · 07/01/2015 21:31

Good plan!

Drywhiteplease · 07/01/2015 21:42

Ah yes but liberty after cardio I think you keep burning calories for a while so even if you replace what you've worn off there'll still be a benefit Sleep help!

Funny, being at home more has been an eye opener for DH . When dcs dont pull their weight he says " make them do it, don't do it yourself". Drives me bonkers.I'm no wall flower, but when teenagers don't do what you've asked them to do 50 million times, you either have a screaming match or do it yourself. DH did it himself today Hmm
"Calm down" is a yellow card here. DH would never dare say " is it your time of the month" sudden death! not far off the menopause, poor bugger doesn't know what's coming
Shop my lovely friend, breathe, make a list, have a Wine , get rid of crap!surround yourself with positive people no drains and things, treat yourself from time to time and come an visit, spare bed is always made x

One well done Smile

And fuckity fuck sorry ILs are coming for 5 days at half term Sad Sad can't stand anyone for 5 days, will be suicidal....Mara how did you manage for so long? Sad

Karbea · 07/01/2015 21:49

liberty, drywhite is correct! I think it's as much as 24hrs.

AmberNectarine · 07/01/2015 22:11

My DH wouldn't dare comment on my menstrual cycle, much less tell me to calm down. He usually try to be soothing while I try to blame him for whatever the problem is. It's a lovely life for him - can think why he works 70-80hr weeks.

Am out tomorrow for first time in over a week . I feel I've forgotten how to socialise!

Drywhiteplease · 07/01/2015 22:41

Reiss white cotton fitted shirt.......beautiful fit, lovely quality, softest cotton but just a bit see through for my work prude

bettykt · 08/01/2015 08:58

Stuck to my word and went to bed at 10.30 woke up at 7.50, think it's the longest I've slept in ages, I feel like a new woman Grin

Dry that's a shame, that shirt was lovely, will it have to go back?

Pouring down here, not sure what I'm going to wear on my feet, all my ankle boots are suede, but will definitely be wearing grey skinnies and my new plaid JCrew shirt, it's brushed cotton and it's lovely and warm.

Busy day today doctors and school meeting so better get my act together.

LinusDKD · 08/01/2015 09:53

Quickly popping in to congratulate one on your pass! You must be so happy!

maradesbois · 08/01/2015 11:25

Betty sleep really is the best of medicines a lot of the time. I've been same as you recently, going to bed too late due to messing about on iPad. Have decided to leave it downstairs for a while and read books instead. Have had Hillary Clinton's autobiography on the go since the end of the summer Blush.

Relaxation cd worked really well for me when I had issues with anxiety a few years ago, the one I had taught you to focus on one body part at a time starting with feet. Didn't do it every day or would've started to hate it but once in a while it was really helpful and I still use the techniques if ever I can't sleep.

No fashion news, have been looking after baby dn (4 mths). Had forgotten how time consuming tiny ones are but also feeling extremely broody.

One well done!

maradesbois · 08/01/2015 11:27

Dry am still recovering from it! Grin.

libertychick · 08/01/2015 11:33

Sounds like a fab sleep Betty, nothing quite like it.

I am sore but very chirpy today after my exercise session yesterday.

Working from home today, wearing Tommy Hilfiger straight leg jeans (sadly these are my 'fat' jeans), white Hobbs crew neck T and H&M very soft cotton black and white plaid shirt. Super comfy and warm, bit 'meh' in the style stakes! Will add Petty boots and Boden navy parka for the nursery run.

I'm going to return the patterned leggings to TKMaxx - patterned leggings are no friend to pudgy thighs I have discovered Grin practically ran shrieking from the mirror

Dry 5 days of DILs - pah, that nothing! Last time my MIL stayed it was for 4 months...

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/01/2015 11:42

Wow lib Shock (re MIL)

That sounds similar to my relaxation tape mara, tensing and relaxing the feet upwards.

Glad you feel better betty now I just need to follow your example. I always seem to wake up at the wrong time, i.e. in the middle of a very deep part of the sleep cycle. I just need to go to bed earlier, but DP tends to follow me to bed if I do, and when my aim is an early night I'd rather he came up after I'd gone to sleep!

2 days til style day Grin

Karbea · 08/01/2015 11:50

Hello All! I'm on holiday now for a week and a bit whoopee! I only work 13 hrs a week now but still a week off is nice!
I'm booked in for my colour session with this lady (Helen) on the 13th, so glad I managed to get a session sooner rather than later the original lady was saying mid Feb!!!

Stokey · 08/01/2015 12:11

Well done One on passing your exam, what a nice birthday present.

I just had tea with a French friend whose father runs a satirical magazine in the south of France and had very close links with Charlie Hebdo, so awful. Free speech is so important, there is very moving video of the former editor Philippe Val encouraging people to laugh more than ever to fight extremism.

Karbea · 08/01/2015 12:16

stokey dh and I were looking at lots of the cartoons that other cartoonist have done as a reaction to yesterday, very moving. I was listening to radio 2 yesterday and they were interviewing someone who said that now a days lots if people are scared to say what they really think if it's not the 'norm' so already there is very strong censorship in society, and it's so true. There are lots of times when I bite my tongue, just because I don't want to upset people, but every opinion and viewpoint is valid.

I've booked a consultation for highlights here tomorrow. It's not with one of the top people which I'm thinking might be a mistake as I always tend to go with the creative director at places... Umm I'm sure it'll be ok.

libertychick · 08/01/2015 13:57

It is shocking Stokey. It makes me feel very angry. A culture where people cannot speak freely is a dangerous one - it means that issues fester and become toxic. It also scares me as I am in central London so often and I really worry about random attacks by fundamentalists and I think there is a high risk in the aftermath of incidents like this.

Wow you are really forging ahead with your transformation Karbea. It will be interesting to compare notes after the HoC sessions. I am going to talk to someone about hair colour next month - no money left this month after HoC and dentist and paying in advance for exercise classes!
