thanks novice I really don't want him to go but I'll cope, I have to, it's the way things have to be for the time being

Karbea · 01/01/2015 12:02

Agreed not buying anything until then!

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2015 12:04

I think you've made the right choice karbea once you have the info from HoC I think you'll make better choices and feel more confident that you are getting things 'right', IYSWIM?

shopafrolic · 01/01/2015 13:02

Yay for leather leggings Novice Wink
YY Karbea wait for your HoC day told you that already :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/01/2015 16:10

Hi all. I got up at 3pm Blush It was a great night which got v messy. Having someone mixing cocktails on tap was extremely dangerous, and he ended up staying until 2!! fedup no chance of small hangover, this is probably the worst one of my life! Been sick 4 times, once before we left But it was a great party and was amazing to see all the fireworks across London at once from a 19th floor flat :)

DP is coping much better than me, he went out to get mcdonalds for us both. I told him that's why I'm marrying him!

karbea agree definitely do HoC first... it will inspire you! Have you actually booked it yet or is that just lib?

libertychick · 01/01/2015 16:13

It's as good a reason for marrying someone as a lot of others Blair!!

Drywhiteplease · 01/01/2015 16:41

Hi everyone!
Guests just gone, next lot arrive in half an hour Shock....I'm pretty relaxed though.
Proud of myself......mini head ache today but no big deal. Paced myself well and remembered water and a cuppa at 3am before going to bed......3am!!!!!!!
Blair not sure whether you were around last NYE but I had a very bad experience with home made cocktails at my age I should know better NEVER ever will I even look at Long island iced tea ! You have my sympathies.x

Cranagh · 01/01/2015 16:42

My money's on you being a summer, Liberty. I still wear some of my old black jackets, just wouldn't replace them.

Blair Lucozade will do the trick!

Drywhiteplease · 01/01/2015 16:46

Oh nearly had a heart attack last night when I spilled candle wax on one of my Whistles black suede courts Sad..... But iron and brown paper sorted it out this morning, a miracle!!!!Xmas Smile

LinusDKD · 01/01/2015 16:53

blair now I want some McDonalds too!

Ooh if lib is a Summer than maybe I'm too because we have similar colouring.

Those that have seen me IRL, what do you think I am? I think a cool season anyway but not sure about which one althoug I've always thought I was more of a Winter.

santa I have seen a lot of films on your list but not all. They have just introduced Netflix where we live so maybe I should look into that as the Itunes store has very limited choice.

I wanted to watch Elf at Christmas (never seen it) but they didn't have it.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2015 17:53

Linus I'm going for a Spring.

shopafrolic · 01/01/2015 17:58

Linus I would guess Spring but what do I know? I thought I was an Autumn Grin
Christmas tree has come down, house feels bigger - nice.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2015 18:01

well, me too, I thought you were the archetypal autumn, had to adjust my world vision Grin

shopafrolic · 01/01/2015 18:08

For Santa
to catch a thief? - NOPE
cat on a hot tin roof ? - NOPE
meet me in St. Louis ? - NOPE
citzen Kane? - NOPE
dr zhivago ? - NOPE
wizerd of oz ? - YESSSSSS
street car named desire ? - NOPE
roman holiday? - YESSSSSSSSS
gigi ? NOPE
the godfather? - YES but gave up half way through

I've never seen Casablanca either. But I have seen Amélie, Jean de Florette, Manon des Sources and Cinema Paradiso if a love of foreign film in anyway makes up for it?

shopafrolic · 01/01/2015 18:09

BTW is anyome having a booze free Jan? I clearly am not as I am drinking Sauvignon while I type.... Grin

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2015 18:11

Shop I like foreign cinema as well, I love Amelie, it's such a lovely film.

Booze free here Wink

Dp is gone, flat feels too big now, just me and the OneCat again. I am going down next week though so it's not all bad I suppose!

QueenCardigan · 01/01/2015 18:15

Can't wait to take our tree down tomorrow. If dh had let me I would have happily taken it down on Boxing Day.

blair you have my sympathy even though I am also Grin. I haven't had a hangover like that for years.

linus I think you had a dark navy shirt on when we met? I don't think it dominated you so possibly a winter or summer, spring or autumn. Although you may be simular colouring to liberty she has a delicacy to her skin tone which is why my money is on summer but probably completely wrong.

I've bought red and Instyle mags as well as some trashy gossipy ones as I felt like a good old fashioned read of them. Will report back if anything interesting fashion related.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2015 18:18

I've seen quite a few foreign films. French mostly and Italian mostly. I have a vague recollection of doing a cinema semester. Jean Seberg etc, great short hair.

I haven't seen many at all on Santa's list.

I'm out on Sat so there will be drinking.

QueenCardigan · 01/01/2015 18:19

I'm considering booze free shop although will have to make an exception for a party next weekend.

I've never seen many classic films either . Dh is Shock that I've never seen sound of music so is recording it for me.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2015 18:21

Speaking of Amélie, Priceless is excellent and Audrey Tautou is very good in it. Great outfits.

shopafrolic · 01/01/2015 18:31

YY loved Priceless and Chocolat

LinusDKD · 01/01/2015 18:51

So nearly unanimously Summer for me then? I do like colours from both Winter and Summer palettes but I'm drawn more to the winter ones what a surprise

I will just keep doing what I've done up until now and that is go for cool shades and then see which one suit me and which ones don't. Wink

queenc I love the Sound of Music and must have seen all or parts of it every Christmas for the last 20 years.

Karbea · 01/01/2015 19:08

No blair I've not booked it, the lady had an auto email reply that said she was closed till the 5th but I'll book it as soon as I can.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 01/01/2015 19:16

Hello everyone, hoping you can give me some great advice for 2015. I am hopefully going to start buying better quality items that will last me longer than the usual stuff i buy. My problem is im not used to spending money on myself i would rather spend it on the kids.
I am going to london in april to see phantom (christmas present from hubby) and hoping to have a good shop while we are there, as not many decent shops where i live and i have to go to either birmingham/solihull/leicester.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/01/2015 19:33

Ah ok karbea just try to sit on your hands and not purchase anything in the meantime :)

I love the sound of music too, QueenC you're in for a treat. I wish I had it on DVD!

Thanks Dry I was sensible enough to avoid the long island iced tea, though DP had one and ended up throwing most of it away as it was so large and sweet and strong! Cranagh I haven't got any lucozade but the mcd's has helped. Not looking forward to work tomorrow.

Hi muddling, welcome and do get stuck in. If you are planning a big shopping trip in April you could consider getting a colours diagnosis done beforehand if it appeals to you, it would help with deciding what to buy. (Bit of a recurring theme on here at the moment!)
