I don't want to fritter it ! Or let it just go in bank account and dwindle away!

What would you buy with £1000 x

OP posts:
mirpuppet · 06/12/2014 11:44

Quality Coat, Boots and maybe a bag.

Goanddoapoothen · 06/12/2014 11:50

Premium denim skinny jeans that fit properly
Cashmere jumper-grey and navy
Good quality coat
Leather tote
Nice leather boots...
Then if anything was left save it to buy a couple of quality summer items!

How lovely OP, enjoy spending your £1000! Smile

Holiday
Weekend in a spa
Theatre tickets meal and an outfit

Talisin · 06/12/2014 12:02

A really lovely long classic quality winter coat from somewhere like Burberry.

santamarianovella · 06/12/2014 12:08

I'd wait for the NAP or matches sales, they are just around the corner, and get a really good coat, boots and scarf.

polyhymnia · 06/12/2014 12:12

I'd first get a great haircut if I hadn't got one already. And a couple of perfectly fitted (eg at Rigby and Peller) bras. Your hair and bra are always with you, whatever you're wearing.

Then spend what's left on clothes- what you need most out of following: good coat, boots, bag, quality jeans, cashmere sweater.

SweetsForMySweet · 06/12/2014 12:20

Laser hair removal for underarms, legs and bikini line
A holiday
A new outfit and hairstyle

SteveBrucesNose · 06/12/2014 12:21

Burberry trenchcoat. I adore mine. Shame I don't live somewhere cold enough to wear it a lot so it's for holidays only

SweetsForMySweet · 06/12/2014 12:24

You could put it in a high interest deposit account for a year or two to increase the amount so you could get more from it

SageSeymour · 06/12/2014 12:26

A Brora cashmere coat, Acne pistol boots and Botox

mowglik · 06/12/2014 12:41

I'd get a lovely winter coat, and a nice bag

bonhomme · 06/12/2014 16:36

Quality coat, boots and bag if I were you

carlywurly · 06/12/2014 17:27

Some or all of following

Good quality, well fitted jeans.
Bag.
Boots.
Belt.
Coat.
Watch.

In the sales you should be able to nail all of this for £1000. Go for simple, classic styles and the best quality you can get and it will all last years. Enjoy Smile

Marylou2 · 06/12/2014 19:05

A Max Mara coat. I'd wait for the sale and get a really gorgeous one.

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2014 19:07

The sales will be on very soon. Do you need a coat? And boots.

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 06/12/2014 19:55

Coat and boots in sales, and a necklace from Tiffany.

Have fun and do update us!

Greengrow · 06/12/2014 20:38

Pay it off the mortgage.

Skinheadmermaid · 06/12/2014 20:57

A couple of pairs of jeans that fit really well; black and very dark wash.
A couple of pretty jumpers, all mine are sweatshirts with slogans on or quite baggy.
Some good quality black boots. I desperately need some and can't afford them.
New trainers, probably nike airs.
I've only spent about £300 there. Maybe spend the rest of a diamond collar for my dog? Grin

dowhat · 06/12/2014 21:04

Right now I'd take a holiday, just me, and figure out who I am and what i want without sans work/children/demands of everyday life etc confusing me! Mulberry handbag - really???

polyhymnia · 06/12/2014 21:13

Yes to Max Mara coat, no to vastly over rated Mulberry and, especially, Tiffany.

mrsdimmock · 06/12/2014 23:00

A diamond eternity ring. My grandpa passed away & left me exactly that, I bought a beautiful vintage 7 stone one & every time I look at it I remember both my adorable grandparents. I love it...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/12/2014 23:59

I had £3000 a couple of years ago (cashed in some shares) .

I bought some household things, paid for some meals out, put a fair amount in the joint account and - for me- spent £££ on a beautiful, privately done dental crown that I still love Grin

Riverland · 07/12/2014 00:02

A holiday. A holiday with lots of massage and reflexology.

RojaGato · 07/12/2014 06:33

Get something made. A great dress, a lovely coat, amazing shoes,a piece of jewellery...then it will be unique and you will have that experience too.

Anything left over I would spend on either getting your hair or your nails done every so often over the rest of the year.

bettykt · 07/12/2014 08:40

I would buy a Hermes cuff and with the leftover money I would look to see if there are any gaps in my wardrobe and buy a luxe version of what was needed. Albeit a cashmere jumper from Brora, good quality shoes/boots/coat/scarf/handbag etc. if there was anything left over from that then some Tom Ford make up.
