Makemewarmthiswinter, thats a lovely necklace. I was going to get it for my SIL but its kind of small/narrow and she is has a gorgeous bosom :) I got her this instead and whilst I was kind of iffy diffy about Tiffany previsouly I really like this particular range.

Red yes, the camera would be an excellent idea.

toffeeboffin · 08/12/2014 18:21

I'd have a weekend in New York, all on my own. A night in a five star hotel, look around the Met, people-watch in coffee shops, stroll around looking at the lights and chaos, then a long hot bath, maybe a nap then a cocktail or two in a fancy bar.. then I'd take Mr. Big back to the hotel room for some 5 star sex : )

TwiggyHeart · 08/12/2014 18:43

Night at lovely spa hotel and some good quality basics, jeans/tops etc or a piece of jewellery. I had my wedding and engagement rings made and I would love them to make me a matching eternity ring.

Redtartanshoes · 08/12/2014 18:53

Yes, get your tooth fixed.

catgirl1976 · 08/12/2014 18:56

If it was just for me to spend on myself and I couldn't spend it on a holiday or car or paying debts or things that would benefit the family, I would

Get fillers and botox, get my eyelash extensions put back on and get some new clothes. I'd buy a really good suit for work, some jeans that make me look slimmer and a nice dress. Maybe a massage or two.

I would also happily pay the lot if anyone could magic away 2 stone for me Grin

lemisscared · 08/12/2014 19:03

oooh, i'd buy a new lap top a really nice pair of boots,
But then i'd like a pair of designer glasses (not necessarily designer but good quality that really suit my face) and a decent hair cut.

I really need dental work done though - have broken tooth at the front [blushy] I doubt 1k would cover it :(

lemisscared · 08/12/2014 19:05

ooh cross post with the OP re the dental work.

lemisscared · 08/12/2014 19:05

You don't have to pay for the sedation, just get your GP to prescribe you some diazepam

MistyMistletoe · 08/12/2014 19:16

What a lovely little windfall Tread'

If it was mine and just mine to spend with no one else to consider I would go with a quality coat, boots, bag and cashmere jumper Smile

serin · 08/12/2014 19:17

Another vote for dental work.

muffinmonster · 08/12/2014 20:09

I was left some money a few years back by a uncle. I toyed with the idea of buying a piece of art but as I don't know much about art that was a non-starter. In the end I spent it on an iMac and am still very satisfied with my choice. Not fashion or beauty, I know!

Justtoobad · 08/12/2014 20:19

A designer pet: dog, cat or chinchilla?
And hand bag to carry them in, not all of them at once though.

bigbluestars · 08/12/2014 20:47

I would keep it until I needed something I'm afraid, I don't like to spend for the sake of it.

TheWindowDonkey · 08/12/2014 21:18

I'd put it towards a new imac. Mine is dying and I don't thing I can afford to replace it....ditto my iPad...I'd love a really good hair colour and cut too, and a smart winter coat...

But actually, depending on how I had acquired it, I may (if it was inherited cash) buy a painting. We did this when my stepdad died and I love having something that will pass down to my dd (if she wants it) from her childhood.

velocityofrudolph · 08/12/2014 21:18

Some really good shoes, I have very wide, but small, feet and getting shoes that fit properly is a nightmare..£1000 would almost cover the cost of getting some made for me

Failing that, my teeth need a lot some work, so I would finally make that dentists appointment

Fanfeckintastic · 08/12/2014 21:51

I took out my €1500 savings and got a dental implant, it wasn't a front tooth but in my smile line and I couldn't laugh or anything without covering my mouth, it really affected my confidence and I got a great deal! Have to wait 6 months before I can get the crown screwed in but I'm so glad I got it before I just learned to accept it. Your teeth have to last you your whole life.

Other than that I'd split it between an amazing little holiday with DD and a long weekend away with DP and try squeeze another weekend away with friends! Experiences and memories are always the better option in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't spend it on extra expensive Christmas presents for DD as selfish as that may sound, toys end up discarded etc but maybe tickets to pantos, theme park, other things she would enjoy!

I'd definitely consider botox but that's something you'd really have to keep up if even on a yearly basis.

I'd love to fill my make up bag with the absolute best but the mojo problem with that is going back to your old stuff when it wastes!

Or I'd get myself a little run around car and loads of driving lessons as I've found I've taken fifty steps back and I'm now a very nervous driver.

Pay off any little loans knocking around, sounds boring but you'd be thankful in the long run.

I've WAY over spent and over thought this Grin my vote is your tooth and make amazing memories!

RJnomore · 08/12/2014 21:55

Id get a MacBook personally.

It is both stylish and beautiful (IMO) and I can't imagine getting so much pleasure or use out of say a bag or a piece of jewellery.

KitKat1985 · 08/12/2014 21:56

I'd probably spend it on a holiday personally. If there was any left I'd buy some lovely classic items of clothing or a nice coat.

Bartlebee · 08/12/2014 21:59

A bag.

But I have just found out I've cracked a molar and need an implant, so it could pay for 40% of that!

EmmelineP · 08/12/2014 22:17

Beautiful proper jewellery, is always an investment as will never go down in value and much more attractive than zeros on a bank balance, unless they are red zeros!

zipetwhippetinblankets · 08/12/2014 22:52

Burberry coat
new Ugg boots- as mine are getting tatty
new wellingtons

Lioninthesun · 08/12/2014 22:54

I'd clear out the wardrobe and get a personal shopper to help me get a capsule wardrobe instead. If you could time it with the sales and stick to 10 items you should be set!

If you're set for clothes then how about an outhouse (something like this is in your budget www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Log-Cabins/BillyOh-Huntsman-Log-Cabin/22509 ) so you can have a special room to yourself for a hobby or just reading or whatever.

Or a holiday for a special occasion with at least one spa treatment booked in advance. I'd like to go to Peru. Or maybe try a cruise ship Grin

Lioninthesun · 08/12/2014 23:08

Or how about getting a painted portrait - whole family one or just the kids? If you can find an artist whose style you like, perhaps this would be a memorable way to spend it and keep something for the future generations?

hagarthorne · 08/12/2014 23:14

Cinema, theatre, books and log fire pub lunches until it runs out. With the last few pounds a cashmere scarf.
