I don't want to fritter it ! Or let it just go in bank account and dwindle away!

What would you buy with £1000 x

StackladysMorphicResonator · 09/12/2014 07:25

Personal training sessions and a spa weekend!

TalkinPeace · 09/12/2014 09:03

Coat, boots, piece of jewellery : you'll still be using them for years and years
(my fave winter boots are 25 years old and the shop still sells the same style as they are utterly classic)

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/12/2014 09:06

New passports for DH and I and a little trip away for the two of us. We have two very small children who would stay with Nan and Grandad, so only a 4 night trip, but somewhere we could relax totally.

ChoochiWoo · 09/12/2014 10:56

clothes! desperately needed

happybubblebrain · 09/12/2014 12:13

I would have a couple of weeks in Thailand on my own.

or

Lapland for Christmas.

hotbutteredcrumpet · 09/12/2014 12:13

Weekend away with the children, weekend away as a couple, trip to the opera/ theatre in London.

Would also be tempted by a piece of jewellery/ watch but don't think I could spend that amount on one piece.

HalleLouja · 09/12/2014 12:25

A weekend to NYC with a friend. Spend remaining money there.

Nice boots
Bag
Jeans
Some nice wool items.

Flingmoo · 09/12/2014 12:26

Wow, each to their own but I will never understand why anyone would spend £1k on a handbag... I know that comment might rile some people up, but bloody hell! That's a lot of money just for lugging around your keys, phone and lippy...

willowisp · 09/12/2014 12:31

Jewellery or a watch - whether a second hand Rolex or similar.

I wouldn't waste it on clothes or a handbag.

diddl · 09/12/2014 12:51

Flights to UK to spend Christmas with parents (even ILs Shock)

TalkinPeace · 09/12/2014 12:58

Halle
Once you have bought flights to NYC for two and accommodation there will be about a dime left of the £1000

HalleLouja · 09/12/2014 12:59

Nope my friend would be paying for his own flights. So would have the remainder to spend. I have a friend to go with just no money to fund the trip my end.

Monica101 · 09/12/2014 13:13

I'd get a new front door!

But style wise i'd get your tooth fixed.

Or i'd get expensive coat, teeth whitened, two cashmere jumpers.

heyday · 09/12/2014 19:25

I would pay my rent with it as homelessness is creeping ever nearer

Bloody hell OP you're brave.... Hmm

Jewellery or an investment bag for me.
Or I'd put it towards my dream Cartier Tank Francaise in gold and white gold.

TopazRocks · 09/12/2014 22:45

Enough PROPERLY fitting bras for each day of the week, in a few different colours.

Definitely a nice classic coat - long - not black as I have one already, but a colour that will last a few years (haven't a clue what that might be!)

A pair of black boots and a pair of brown that fit well on my humongous calves

2 pairs of trousers that fit the size I am now.

2 warm but smart sweaters

CoolStoryBro · 10/12/2014 01:47

I came into some money recently and decided to allocate $3k for "frivolity spending". OMG! It was so much fun! I bought a few things for the house and for us and the kids that I wouldn't normally have bought, mainly as I would have deemed them too expensive for what they are.

It made me want to budget more so I could do it more often Grin

BlueBrightBlue · 10/12/2014 11:17

Premium Bonds.

somebodythatiusedtoknow · 10/12/2014 22:25
