Eurrrgggh my usual sleeps till at least 7am DS has been awake since 6am. Dry That would be Gucci. LOL at drunken post.
Need to get going so I can head to Waitrose for cocktail ingredients :)

bettykt · 22/11/2014 07:52

Shop will you be queuing up outside waiting for the doors to open? Grin hope you manage to track it down.

LinusDKD · 22/11/2014 07:59

Morning!

Did Passoa never catch on in the UK? I remember my parents thinking it was very exotic in the '80 when it first came on the market.

They mixed it with orange juice as an aperitif. That and Pisang Ambon. [nostalgia emoticon]

Drunk Dry posting always makes me laugh.

Right, better get ready as we have a busy day ahead of us ferrying the DC around to various activities and birthday parties. Seriously, their social life is way better than ours.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2014 08:02

Morning. Everyone slept until 7.30 which is a nice time but I woke at 6! Dammit one day I'll get used to it.

I feel like I haven't seen the sun for a while. So rainy. Can't believe I have to go in to town just for tights, might get some new make up stuff while I'm at it.

QueenCardigan · 22/11/2014 08:13

Morning all. Rainy and grey here too. I slept in till 7 but dd had me up twice in the night. I might have to grab a cheeky little nap later on before I come up to London.

libertychick · 22/11/2014 08:18

Bah at the rain. Both my shoe options for tonight are suede. Blow dry booked for 9am.

Time for the famous dry hangover cure...

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 22/11/2014 08:26

Me too Liberty I might have to do a shoe swap which is a faff but will see. I'm impressed with the early hair appointment! I never remember to book hair on the right day, it looked hairdresser level on Thursday.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2014 08:27

Dry that is funny. Yes to hangover cure.

Fedupnagging · 22/11/2014 08:41

Just popping in to say have a great MU today ladies. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Linus mmmm, cocktail sounds delish. Will def check out the passion fruit liqueur. I had a passion fruit Cosmo recently - heaven in a glass.

Shop great links last night. A harness? Really? Wonder who could pull that off besides Lady GaGa.

Dry Grin at your drunken posting. Hope you don't feel too rough today.

We have a family celebration this weekend - about 15 descending on chez fedup later. Luckily we are eating out tonight so am only really cooking tomorrow.

Have no idea what to wear tonight or tomorrow yet. Definitely skinnies and check shirt when I get up though.

shopafrolic · 22/11/2014 09:21

Fedup I can't claim the glory for last nights links.......
Linus have your Paige skinnies on today (they are a better fit than my 27s which I have to almost lie down to get into) Thanks
I am wearing them with a dull Uniqlo grey sweatshirt, my new Mint Velvet necklace, Pistols and Dry's Chanel burgundy lipstick.
I am becoming ShopasclothedbyVogue
Hope everyone has an awesome time tonight - really sorry not to be there but will raise a glass at the appropriate time. I expect at least one live update from the toilets please. Hope the newbies have fun too.

Mominatrix · 22/11/2014 09:23

Morning everyone!

dry - hilarious posts! Hope the hangover cure has kicked in.

liberty and Marsha - I need to change shoe options too as I was going to wear suede stilettos! Other options require a pedi, which i am too busy to get done today. Impressed with liberty's hair appointment. I aspire to be so organised. It is a big day when I actually blow dry my hair instead of just pulling it back.

Linus - cocktails sound delicious. I aspire to cocktails - have purchased the ingredients in the past, but as DH does not really drink (only the occasional glass of wine with a nice meal), things just seem to gather dust. I need to have more girlie nights a la Dry to properly do cocktails. One cocktail ingredient which sounds intriguing to me is St. Germain liqueur - it is an alcoholic elderflower liqueur. Sounds like a perfect ingredient for some fund cocktails.

Late morning here (thank you DH for doing the early swimming run and dog walk!), so need to get bum in gear. Off to football with DS2, so j Brand dark indigo skinnies, cream polo neck chunky jumper, sheepskin lined wellies, and some kind of water-resistant coat. Will glam it up with a Hermes shawl and Jypsiere.

Hope to see many of you later!

QueenCardigan · 22/11/2014 10:06

Gah, went back to bed but coukdnt sleep.
fedup the links were mine last night as I may be a little delicate tomorrow morning.
Rain has stopped here but is it raining tonight in London? I'll have to dig out an umbrella. I rarely use them anymore as I usually have do with me so I just use a hood.

OneLittleLady · 22/11/2014 10:36

Morning all

Hope everyone going has a fab time at MU today, so disappointed not to be there but I'm too ill plus I wouldn't want any of you lovelies to catch this!

No fashion news unless you count supergirls pjs as fashion Grin

maradesbois · 22/11/2014 11:06

Morning!

Well it's a lovely sunny day here so hadn't planned for rainy London. Am on the train with coffee and House & Garden Christmas edition, is bliss to be travelling on my own! Wearing gap denim shirt, black leighs, tod's Chelsea boots and Hermès shawl.

Very excited about tonight and about going Christmas shopping beforehand.

Linus have never heard of Passoa but where I'm from malibu and pineapple juice was the height of sophistication in the 80s. Haven't had proper cocktails for ages, at home dh is so into his wines & champagnes so don't get the occasion. Must say that MrSewer's Grin recipe sounds great though. Can't wait to hear how you get on with it Shop.

maradesbois · 22/11/2014 11:07

Mom outfit sounds great but what is Jypsiere?

Fedupnagging · 22/11/2014 11:18

Oops, yes, I see the links were from Queen. Great as always and definitely make up for no links tomorrow.

One you sound very ill, it's not great for you so take it easy.

Mara your train journey sounds lovely and relaxing. Post dc, I loved travelling on my own just for the peace and quiet!

I have a bottle of premixed margarita in the booze fridge. It's from Costco and the ONLY premixed cocktail I have found that is nice. Anyway, I feel a pre prandial cocktail coming on later and will definitely raise a glass to you lovely ladies.

BrandyAlexander · 22/11/2014 11:33

Morning! I say this every time but no idea what I will wear. who is wearing a dress and who is wearing trousers? are we glamming or casualing?

I may be late as friends coming over this afternoon and they have just told me they are getting here at 4pm I thought they were coming at 2pm!! I may also not last. first 2 days of my period are tough ones for me as my iron levels plummet.

One, sorry you're not well.Thanks

QueenCardigan · 22/11/2014 11:36

mara I'm looking forward to my car journey. Not quite as relaxing as the train but I love being able to sing at the top of my voice with no one telling me to shut up Grin

Ladies, you will all have to ignore my eyebrows later. They're being waxed in 2 weeks for anniversary weekend so coukdnt get them done now. I've plucked a bit but they may still be a bit unshapely!! lib try not to be scared when I arrived but I'll be sans make up. My eyelashes are desperate for a dye so they look really pale at the moment. I will have mascara and maybe falsies on for tonight though.

QueenCardigan · 22/11/2014 11:38

novice I'm going for a dress as the heels I wear with it are easier in the rain than the stilettos I eoukd wear with trousers. Also I decided tights are easier in the rain rather than trousers. It's not overly glam but not super casual either.

maradesbois · 22/11/2014 12:26

Enjoy your journey and singalong QueenC.

Novice I am going midway rather than v dressed up too.

Fedup have a lovely time this weekend.

One so sorry you are feeling rubbish. Take care and stay cosy in your onesies this weekend (will let you off! Smile. Hope the doc can sort you out next week.

Getting some deco ideas in H&G for future London pad. Think we need a pantry. Tiled, hooks, nice neat shelving.

shopafrolic · 22/11/2014 12:26

OK, slight hitch to the cocktail plans. No Passoa to be found in my town. But..... dear God MrLinus what have you started? I found an AMAZING new Spirits Boutique selling special liqueurs, vodkas, gins, whisky and champagnes. They are going to order me in the Passoa. In the meantime I left the store with a bottle of Elderflower gin liqueur to drink with Prosecco this evening, and Sloe Gin with Mulberry again to have with Prosecco over Christmas.
Should be able to make the cocktail this time next week. I explained to the guy why I wanted it "basically we all chat online and thought we'd have a cocktail evening on a Sat night so I need these ingredients". He laughed and said "so it's basically an excuse to drink alone?" BUSTED Hmm

bettykt · 22/11/2014 12:41

Novice I'm wearing a dress but not the heels that I planned on wearing as, on reflection, they will rip my feet to shreds by the end of the evening. So will be dressing the dress down by wearing comfier (sp) ankle boots. May have to wear my Arctic parka as if my hair so much as senses rain it will be a mass of frizz

Mominatrix · 22/11/2014 13:15

mara, the jypsiere is this. My excuse to DH for getting it - I need something to walk the dog Grin.

shop - that elderflower gin liqueur looks like the stuff I was reading about. Please let use know how it worked out.
