Evening,

Cartoon [lemsip] I have a stinking cold too so feel for you and your ds. Hope it's cleared a bit by Saturday, a big red nose may be festive but hardly attractive. Did you buy any of the h&m stuff?

Lib lovely dress. You seem a lot happier with it than the TB one. Glad you love yours too QueenC.

Shop poor you. I hate things like that, apart from having to foot the bill for something not of your making it's depressing to see that lots of people have no moral code.

Marsha hair sounds good. What did dh say?

Dry wish I was coming to your boudoir party too. Congratulations on getting it all finished, enjoy! Wine Cake (but no spills or crumbs on the new carpet).

Am in bed already, was out last night with lots of old friends and feel a bit delicate. Wore black leighs, fendi shoe boots and aubin & wills cream silk shirt with black velvet collar & cuffs (nicer than it sounds).

bettykt · 20/11/2014 21:02

Sorry forgot to say lovely links Cartoon I particularly liked the first top and the dress

Mara big dose of Lemsip to you too.

I want to watch The Fall but dh is asleep and it's a bit too scary to watch on my own. I'm such a wuss Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/11/2014 21:21

Feel better mara - thanks for pm, feeling very excited now! Who else is wearing a dress on Sat?

linus thank you so much, the jeans fit perfectly (and I'm surprised because my other pair were a 28, oh well not complaining!) You are a star and I owe you much [fizz]. Flowers I have them on now, so happy to have a lovely new pair of skinnies.

Hope you're having fun Dry, and watch the cake crumbs.

Marsha looking forward to seeing the hair :)

Awks · 20/11/2014 21:25

OMG I bet Stray FM would love to report live from a Boudoir Party Grin

I've just ordered those gold Ash jalouse's that are all over my bloody feed, winking at me in a glittery, sparkly, Christmas way. Wtf will I ever wear gold ankle boots with but am excited about them coming, anyway

bettykt · 20/11/2014 21:30

Blair I'll be wearing a dress.

Awks cool boots. I'd wear them everyday as I'd wear black/brown boots I love funky footwear.

LinusDKD · 20/11/2014 21:36

awks I seem to remember from another thread that another mumsnetter bought those gold Jalouse as well a while back.

I think it was tethersend so maybe you can ask her whether she's happy with them and how she wears them?

LinusDKD · 20/11/2014 21:37

Oh and blair so happy the Goldsigns fit!

QueenCardigan · 20/11/2014 21:44

blair it's bad enough that dh has a beard. I'm not dressing him up as a teddy bear too Grin
dry wish you lived nearer. Boudoir party sounds fab although does dh think you're mad.

I was sensible and didn't order the silver shoes from next. Much as I love them I can't imagine what I'd wear them with.

I'm veering towards wearing a dress on Saturday as I'm feeling slim. Dh is a bit Hmm about the whole thing especially as I'm staying away. I'm trying to convince him that I'm safe with liberty!

shopafrolic · 20/11/2014 23:10

Dry where was my invite? Ignoring the fact that you live miles away.
I went to a friend's house this evening for a sewing lesson. I haven't used a machine since school and came away with a cushion. I'm so impressed with myself. I need Dry to teach me how to make bunting now :)

shopafrolic · 20/11/2014 23:11

My girlfriend did get carried away saying I could even make my own clothes but I told her I love shopping too much and will stick to home furnishings and bits for DS. Hmm

Drywhiteplease · 20/11/2014 23:35

Boudoir party was lovely. Loads of screaming at my wardrobes. My girlfriends, like you lot now, know how much these mean to me. All raced in and opened doors took piss out of my precise jumper folding etc.
Only white drink in my bedroom Wink ......
Shop happy to do ft bunting tutorial.Grin
Betty I once saw a Christmas book by M Stewart. Out of print now I think. It was bloody brilliant!!!!!

libertychick · 20/11/2014 23:43

Momin and marsha I more than likely will wear the Monsoon dress to the MU. I do love it.

Shop you can teach me how to use a sewing machine when I next see you. I have been considering getting one for ages.

Awks I love the gold jalouse.

QueenC the silver shoes would work with your black trousers and navy blouse look I think.

I have just watched the Liberty prog. So good. I must go soon and buy something nice there!

Mominatrix · 21/11/2014 06:45

Dry - forgot to comment yesterday about your Christmas ideas. I love them, and am stealing BOTH of them. Would love to aspire to making bunting, but, although I do own a sewing machine (present from my DF, who is the sewer in the family), I only use it to sew nametapes on uniforms. Boudoir party sounds fun, and a great girlie party idea.

mara hope you feel better quickly

shop - sewing lessons are lost on me - DF has tried. In my family, it is my brother and father who do the sewing. Perhaps I should send my DSs on a course?

Must watch the Liberty programme. You ladies have made me want to go there - can you actually believe I have never been?!? I lie, I did enter the entrance, but I was with a pram and DS2 who was screaming so I had to quickly turn around and leave...that was 6 years ago. Must give it another go!

Might be a mucky day and I will be outside most of it, I think I'll wear Current Elliott skinny boyfriends, black heeled Hogan ankle boots, JCrew white button down shirt, and JCrew boyfriend blue/green cashmere jumper with ancient blue duffel coat (something I have had since high school!).

cartoontrickster · 21/11/2014 07:48

thank you mara I'm feeling worse today Sad so I think its a Onsie day for me. luckily it hasn't had too much of an effect on DS who has been carefully taking his first steps over the last few days Smile . hope you are feeling better.
dry boudoir party sounds amazing. am I allowed to hear all about your new bedroom?
I was strong and made no purchases yesterday but that doesn't mean I won't Hehe Grin I will just hide anything I do get from dh Haha. I will be at bluewater with mil on Mon so waiting for that.

Drywhiteplease · 21/11/2014 08:06

cartoon 6 months work, not too stressful, loved all of my wonderful workmen. Big new bedroom with dressing area and ensuite. New house bathroom too. But the fitted wardrobes are my fav bit. Love soft furnishings, v excited choosing all of that stuff and putting it together.

cartoontrickster · 21/11/2014 08:11

ah sounds like my dream dry I aspire to have a dressing room. what's the colour scheme?

libertychick · 21/11/2014 09:29

Never been in Liberty! momin you have to sort that out. It's so lovely. Not good with a pram though.

Hope you feel better soon cartoon. I love H&M. I must go back and look at your links.

OneLittleLady · 21/11/2014 09:33

dry boudoir party sounds a hit, wish i could have been a fly on the wall Grin

Mom even I've been in liberty though not bought anything, sort it out, go and marvel at the beauty, spend some me time in there!

Cartoon feel better soon, i'm laid low with something too, it's rubbish isn't it

shopafrolic · 21/11/2014 13:48

Cartoon those first steps... how exciting :) Hope you feel better soon (and all the other poorly Voguettes).
Mominatrix I am so surprised at your Liberty confession. I love it there, but possibly even more now I've been watching the TV show. I think they've been very clever - just wish their website supported the TV show (drives me mad that there is a meet the characters page and half of it isn't live).
So Linus would your DH care to share a cocktail recipe for us SAHV (stay at home Voguettes) on Saturday? Will be trying the bits you sent me later if it warms up a bit (can't bring myself to take any layers off).
Oh and I totally can't teach anyone how to sew (other than how to thread the machine and make it go). My friend helped me throughout. But I did enjoy it (might ask for a machine for Christmas).......Dry I might take you up on the tutorial. You could do it as a practice run for your Drythedomesticgoddess blog! Which you should totally do!
No real fashion news here - really chilly. Standard uniform of skinnies, Pistols (will wear a hole in them soon if I'm not careful), vest and GAP merino sweater in plum.

LinusDKD · 21/11/2014 14:08

Afternoon!

I might have a Lemsip as well as I'm feeling a bit run down and have a pain in my throat.

cartoon how exciting, first little steps!

mom never been to Liberty? Go Forth and Explore woman!

DH is also the sewer in our household. DMIL taught him the basics and he really enjoys the technical side of it (copying patterns etc).

I, on the other hand, wouldn't even know how to get the sewing machine started. Blush

shop I'll ask DH tonight about a cocktail recipe. What spirits/flavours do you really not like?

shopafrolic · 21/11/2014 14:52

I'll drink anything me! :)
I haven't tried many cocktails. Just mojitos, cosmopolitans, and fizz based ones. Vodka or prosecco or gin based would be good. And will have to go to Waitrose for additions (and a cocktail shaker). Exciting!

santamarianovella · 21/11/2014 15:35

mom, liberty is one of those places, where you can spend hours and not get a headache, its so serene, really!
, they have amazing buyers, their stuff is so unique, you will always find something, only exclusive to liberty, the shoe department is heavenly, but i remember that it really looked different to when I first went there in early 2000s the tudor shop of course is the same , but I remember the make up and perfume department was where cos is now on regent street, and they had a tiny shoe department, with very few brands, I remember they were the only deparment that stocked prada's Mary Jane shoes from 2002AW, they were so popular that season they sold out so quick, i stopped going there for a number of years as HN, was the place to go to back then, boy times have changed! now it's all about liberty and selfridges, and hardly anyone mentions HN!

shop im sure you will be sewing stuff soon Smile, I hate sewing, I had to take a course, hated every single minute of it,

dry sounds like a fun party, and yes please blog blog blog!

linus poor you,

I'm going out tomorrow night with dh, it's his bday next week but he will be away,so we are celebrating it early, still feel crap , hope I look half decent by tomorrow evening,

LinusDKD · 21/11/2014 15:48

I remember Liberty being like that santa! I wonder why they let go of the Regent Street part of the shop.

BrandyAlexander · 21/11/2014 16:02

Hello Voguettes! I am in the UK, hurrah! Though v annoyed..... Haven't spent more than 5 mins with dh since last Saturday night. I texted him just before I got on the plane and said looking forward to seeing youWink then got my period on the plane.Hmm

santamarianovella · 21/11/2014 16:20

linus I bet it must be rent, but it really turned out to be a good thing, though they've lost the regent street entrance, the Tudor building gives a very unique contrast to the whole concept of liberty, it's very fashion forward but it still has its liberty prints paraphernalia somehow they look very cool and not dated,
