Here we are again.....

MI, she is just being teenagery. Don't I know it!

Rang SS after your advice MI and they have rung back to organise a visit! Meanwhile we have just been to see my lovely, lovely DGodFather who is a spritely, ontheball 87 and is still playing in his uke band - they have 11 gigs in December plus New Years Eve (which he is not pleased about as he would rather be celebrating) - how fab is that?Smile

lalsy · 27/10/2014 16:42

BTM, that's completely fab Smile.

dd now gone - you are so right Crem - there were times when she felt just like my dd; other times, not so much. Gosh, ds is an easy going soul by comparison, as dd frequently points out. It was lovely to see her and hear about how she is managing her new life.

I performed a ridiculous antic with two tartan picnic rugs on a rather wet and windy beach last summer to encase myself lying down. It was highly effective, and provided much amusement, but I fear the reaction might be similar if I wore a cape.....

motherinferior · 27/10/2014 16:45

Herbs - have emailed you re Straw Bale Man.

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2014 18:02

I would not describe either of mine as easy going souls, sadly.

I saw a woman wearing a tartan cape/wrap in the pub at lunchtime. She looked great in it, but she was young and pretty. I fear the effect might not be quite the same on me!

Rosebag · 27/10/2014 18:06

Shock cremo about the shelves. Thank heavens no one was hurt. I have visions of Cremolacat flattened like the wicked witch of the west (still got wicked on the brain) I take it he/she is ok?
Thanks beachy CV MI and others re Horsham. I just felt like a change for when I inevitably give in to DD for yet another shopping trip. I think we will probably end up in Chichester as per usual. Coffee beachy?
tilly that's lovely re DGodFather and his ukulele gigs! Reminds me of my neighbour, who is the same age and is learning the guitar for the first time. Excellent old buffer. Grin
DD and I are now snuggled cosily after a day of driving and then walking in this quite amazing weather. We are having dippy eggs and toast soldiers for supper. Smile

lalsy · 27/10/2014 18:20

I think capes need height BTM, so you and CV would both be OK. I fear I'd look like one of those dogs from Hairy McClairy.

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2014 18:28

Rose, your day and evening sounds lovely! And shopping in Chichester sounds way better than Stevenage (where we are heading tomorrow!)

Lalsy, Grin at one of those dogs from Hairy Mclary!

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2014 18:29

And CremoShock at your cats antics.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/10/2014 19:31

I would be quite pleased if the Schadenkatzen destroyed DH's records, but a) one can't jump (he has just fallen off the sofa again, trying to leap the few inches to the armchair) and b) the other one is too subtle and would just do something revolting like vomit hairballs down the back of them.

DH has put up some rather precarious shelves in the hall to house some of our books. He is now worrying that the screws weren't long enough...

cremolafoam · 27/10/2014 20:05

Yes, small grey cat seems fine, but has stayed close to me all day looking a bit freaked out.
The shelves were designed by dh and made from oak planks with the edge still covered in bark. They are supported by tensile wires , one of which snapped as the cat leapt up on top of dh's albums .
Casualties are , an Orrefors decanter and bowl which were vair chic wedding presents from dmums best friend, the record player arm, two picture frames about 10 DVDs ..Sad
Dh is being stoical and fixing it all now. The cat is noticeably absent.

I lost my keys at lunchtime Shock and spent all afternoon( my only afternoon off this week) retracing my steps, looking down the back of the sofa( stepping over the avalanche of fallen stuff, )etc.
Dh came home and found them in the wheely bin, so I must have chucked them in there this morning with the kitchen bin bag .

I cried with relief .
Sometimes you just have days that don't advance at all. I have done nothing today except go backwards
Confused

bigTillyMint · 27/10/2014 20:13

Oh Cremo, you poor thing. It's coming to all of us, Crepey madnessSad

motherinferior · 27/10/2014 20:30

Cremo, I know those days all too well.

Usually without the crying with relief bits.

motherinferior · 27/10/2014 20:33

Can't link as am on phone but there is a particularly appalling cat on the thread about the dog eating the class bear Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/10/2014 21:02

Addle - CakeWineFlowers I do think a good send off helps - it is somehow settling.

Addle that's lovely. Agree with what MrsS says. Flowers

QueenQueenie · 27/10/2014 21:25
