Lib, think that dress is very you. Bet it will look nice. Great idea for a personal shopper. Live updates?Grin

Feel better but still not 100%. I felt rough this morning (everything hurt including throat) but that was more because I was stressed about the event. It was one of those things with many moving parts! most of which could have gone wrong but my team did a fantastic job.

Also dmil has an op later this week. I won't rest easy for the week till I know she's through it, awake and okay.

I am so impressed with your efforts to de stress. I start, last for about a month then revert to type so show me the way! This year I am outsourcing the research on Christmas presents to our PA. I have done it a few times, describe what I want and ask her to get me a short list. She's been more right than wrong thank goodness. However I have the two most important presents already - Santas gifts to the dcs (including Elsa's dress) so that's the biggest thing.

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:24

Karbea didn't you know Nivice lives in a castle? With a moat and everything. I applied for a job as jewellrey curator but was turned down Grin

I'd have a chauffeur , I've said this before I'm sure, would just love someone else to drive me everywhere. Hmm now what car?

Aw ww Shop it was good to catch up. Have tried on all the make up, I can't believe how perfect your former colours are for me. You're right about the pigment in Nars eyeshadow.

How can they say that the dress fitted perfectly, looks like she'd fall out of the bodice to me

I would have a chef at least that way I would eat properly as I'm not often able to make proper meals myself now

it's a beautiful wedding dress Dry but it doesn't fit properly across the top, it's obvious it doesn't, such a shame on an otherwise beautiful item

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:35

love
love
really love! but not my colour
tame but classy
I adore Philip Tracey have never worn

BrandyAlexander · 20/10/2014 22:36

I agree on the top of the dress! For that much moneyShockShock

Snort at castleGrin

So which make up did you get from Shop? nosey

Karbea · 20/10/2014 22:37

novice excellent effort!

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 22:38

Grin at you prudes Grin

liberty I can cut your stress right now. Just don't write Christmas cards. I hate the bloody things. Either you get them from people you see every day or you get them from people that you see once a decade and don't even get me started on those round robin things summing up people's years complete with nauseating photos. As you can see, I'm a bit of a bah humbug Grin.

Anyway, blairs wedding venue had better be hot. So far I've pinned around 35 potential dresses and still some of you are naked. I can't be bothered with trying to find jackets for you all too although maybe I'll put you all in a cardi

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 22:40

dry I may have already pinned a few Philip treacys for you.

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:40

please can I have this one...beautiful

Karbea · 20/10/2014 22:41

I tried on a few Philip Traceys before my wedding when I was toying with a hat.

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:42

I need to see this

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:43

But it was in 2009 Sad

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 22:50

QueenC I'm totally with you on Christmas cards.

I adore Christmas, have bought my wrapping paper and some presents already, even the odd decoration BUT I loathe Christmas cards. Not the concept of spreading good cheer, but :
Pointlessness of sending to people you see all the time
Hate picture cards with other peoples' kids on them
Loathe round robin letters
Hate " to Dry and Mr Dry.....love Friend" where's the thought in that?
And......DH insists on putting them on every shelf, picture .....mess up my coordinated of course colour scheme and fall down every time you open a door.

This year I think I'm not going to send them and see if anyone notices. I wouldn't and tbh anyone who is petty enough to take offence because I haven't sent them a card is annoying.

Clear?

Back to hats Grin

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 23:11

I haven't sent one for years dry. As far as I know no.-ones offended.

Trouble with hats are that you need a fairly plain dress...

BrandyAlexander · 20/10/2014 23:18

Right, I am going to need both your addresses so I can send you a card as I know how much you will enjoy getting it...yup, I am one of those annoying card senders!Grin

Dmil looks fab in a hat even though she's small. I think it's because she has a small head. Err I do not.Blush

Mominatrix · 21/10/2014 07:08

Glad the talk went well, novice, and land holding here for your mil. Lucky you in having help with presents. The kids and my parents are easy (just make a trip to Amazon), but my husband is impossible. He has returned or discarded every present I have ever purchased. The only presents he has really liked has been hand-made things by the children. I gave up long ago.

Hear, hear Drywhite on Christmas Cards. DH INSISTS on Christmas Cards, and yes, they are pictures of the children, and he makes me write a separate message (!!!! I told him no couple in their right mind sends 2 messages when just one will do). I have to say that I am a fan of just signing and sending. I LOATH the 3 page essays people send catching up on their year - anything more than a paragraph, and my eyes glaze over. This year, I might just send -cards. Much easier!

Currently am drinking my tankard of coffee to steel me for the day - loads of clashing things, and I can only blame myself and my inability to say no to things!

Have a great morning everyone!

Drywhiteplease · 21/10/2014 07:54

Right...Bracing myself to be blown around today.looking grim out there.

OneLittleLady · 21/10/2014 08:50

I haven't sent christmas cards since my Nanan passed away, she was the only person I sent one to every year without fail. She would have been very upset if I hadn't though. I sometimes get Ds one, if he asks for one, some years he does, others he doesn't. No one else gets one though I have seen cards to be sent from your cat!

Very windy here and raining on and off. I was so hoping it wouldn't be as I have things to do but can't control the weather!

Sleepwhenidie · 21/10/2014 10:20

Hi everyone - Novice glad your presentation went well. Can you continue to take it relatively easily for a bit?

mominatrix - lovely to see you back! Loved the story about the fair in SF Grin

I am in the love Christmas, don't send Christmas cards camp! Dh sends about 20, I stay out of it Smile.

Lib - so pleased you are eliminating as much stress as you can Smile. Your list of body parts need hiding made me LOL, have you considered a burqua Hmm - do they do those at JL Grin ... You do not need to hide or disguise anything!

Mara I have sent you a PM with suggestions for MU. How many schools are you applying for? London school scene is just crazy, my friend's DD hasn't settled too well in reception so friend called another school to ask for a look round in case they decided it would be better. Response was that the way the school did in year admissions was not to have any tours, but you join waiting list (pay for privilege), wait for invitation for assessment, then an offer, accept offer (pay more), then you can come in for a look around ConfusedShock. Bonkers.

One please push your doctor for more action and do try and eat properly - I'm worried about you Sad

Sleepwhenidie · 21/10/2014 10:22

Oh and I look shocking in 90% of hats, with the possible exception of light, wide brimmed summer ones. I'd love a furry bobble hat but I just look stoopid.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/10/2014 10:23

Morning!

Dry are you still looking for a party dress? I know you mentioned it way back, and I've probably forgotten most of your criteria, but I saw both of these and thought of you:
Mikael Aghal
DKNY

I was also going to link some Chloe things from the outnet for Marsha and santa but I was too slow and they're gone!

It is very windy outside, nice and sunny though.

Sleepwhenidie · 21/10/2014 10:27

I nearly forgot - I got new shoes.

No shopping in Bologna though I was very tempted, shops are fabulous. We kept walking past this bag in one shop window, but it had a green middle panel on the back, it was gorgeous.

OneLittleLady · 21/10/2014 10:34

Sleep please don't worry, I really am okay. I do eat, I really don't starve myself, I'm just not able to cook 'properly' very often so I try to do batch cooking when I am able so I have meals to put in the freezer for when I am less able. Plenty of veg and protein in them so I am getting good nutrients in, just generally heated by the microwave! I am seeing the doctor I prefer on thursday and will ask him to push for results and chase the specialists, he is a very good doctor and I know he will not want me to be suffering, it's just a little unfortunate that others have noticed that he's a very good doctor so his appointment slots go very quickly!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/10/2014 10:34

Those shoes are amazing Sleep - I can't wait to see what shoes people wear to the MU :)
