You're more productive lib as the rest of us are still in bed and can't distract you Grin
I quite like ironing. I get pissed off sometimes with dh shirts but on the while I find it satisfying.
mom if those shoes had silver metalwork I would definitely buy but I just don't like gold.

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 10:26

Good luck nivice. That would be my idea of hell but I'm sure you'll be fine Smile

libertychick · 20/10/2014 10:57

That is a factor QueenC Wink. It would be great if those Topshop shoes were in silver as well, you have been looking for something like that for a while now BTW I bought the M&S slippers you recommended! Love them.

maradesbois · 20/10/2014 11:47

Morning all,

Am having a dull but necessary day doing various admin including filling in school application forms, a non-refundable £100 min per school just to apply and with no guarantee of ever getting a place seems like a bloody cheek!

mom welcome (back). I wasn't on here when you were last around.

to betty. Was wondering where you were too.

Novice good luck for today. Am sure you'll be fantastic.

Forgot about DHL delivery of my outnet marant top, they came when I was at the gym this morning so now have to go and get it from the depot, annoying.

Hello novice! I did read somewhere that how you say things is more important that what you say (might be something in that as my DC never seem to listen to anything that I say unless it is screeched at the top of my lungs), and I'm certain that your poise and delivery stunned them into thinking that everything you said was brilliant.

Hello liberty (still am thinking about your hat from the last MU I was at). I outsourced my ironing long ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. I have a friend who actually finds ironing therapeutic and enjoys doing it Confused! Guess she is not the only one, as Queen seems to agree. I guess my therapy is cleaning floors. Really.

I'd love to come to the MU, but I have something for DS1 in the evening. What time will you ladies be meeting up?

Karbea · 20/10/2014 12:36

liberty I love my ironing man! Currently I can't justify using him, both dh and I hate ironing so we've a living room full of black bags, dh is wearing everything in his wardrobe and I'm ironing as needed. Of all the sacrifices not having our ironing man is the worst!

libertychick · 20/10/2014 13:36

Mom the MU is an evening thing - we haven't pinned down start time or venue yet but a general 'central London, at night, dresses and cocktails probably involved' theme is going on - would be great if you could make it. maradebois has very kindly agreed to co-ordinate so if you have any suggestions for good venues and/or if you can make it pm her.

I'm slightly nervous in case the ironing person isn't any good!!

So today was so busy I just rushed DD out to nursery dressed in my trackies - she made this face Confused and said 'Why are wearing those trousers, are you going for a run Mummy?' Should I be proud or dismayed that she expects better from me on the nursery drop off? Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/10/2014 14:08

Defo proud Lib Grin

novice I hope your day is going well, and I'm sure you look fab which does always help with confidence.

Hello Mominatrix I do remember your name from when I was a lurker :)

QueenC those shoes are so festive. I did a search but couldn't find any similar under £450!
lush
swoon
wizard of oz

OneLittleLady · 20/10/2014 14:38

It'd be fab if you could make it Mom and you too karbea

Having awful, awful muscle spasms today, I can barely get my leg to move and the toes on my left foot have curled under as my foot has twisted inwards. I have so so much to do as well but it's going to have to wait and I'll have to do the things on my list that don't involve getting up and out of my chair.

Think I need to do a proper wardrobe assessment and clear out. I have a double doored wardrobe, hanging rail and three chests of drawers with four drawers in each for my clothes (although two drawers in one set have towels and bedding in but that still leaves me two drawers full of clothes in that set) and I still feel like I've nothing to wear. Never mind the fact that my sister has 'borrowed' absolutely loads of clothes from me and they are yet to come back. I have no idea where I'm going to fit everything once she returns what she's borrowed. I do think though that there's some stuff that I will pass on to her as the colours aren't quite right for me or the shapes are just a little off and better suited to her.

sorry for the essay!!

libertychick · 20/10/2014 15:45

Haven't you got bags of stuff under the bed too One? Wink Smile Clearing out is an ongoing job with me too - as soon as I get rid of one bag load I seem to start filling up another Blush. Muscle spasms sound horrible - I hope they ease for you soon.

Ok, finished work for the day, off for my facial.

OneLittleLady · 20/10/2014 15:49

Yes, yes I have got stuff under the bed as well liberty Blush in my defense, it's mostly heavy duty winter coats under the bed, the kind you only wear when you feel like you're going to turn into a snowman when you step out of the front door! that said, I suspect there may be some other bits and pieces lurking under there too, let us not even get into the shoe situation Blush

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 16:33

Ouch one, that sounds hideous.

blair those mui mui are divine. I can't believe that there haven't been more high street rip offs of the Saint laurent ones. Maybe as it gets nearer to christmas there will be.

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 16:46

blair I'm now the proud owner of those shoes and a few others in my fantasy wardrobe Grin.

I still need ideas for a pin board. one suggested that I do Xmas dresses or gig. Not sure that I'm rock chick enough to do gig though. I did think of finding a wedding dress for blair and wedding outfits for the rest of us Grin

OneLittleLady · 20/10/2014 16:51

You could find me a graduation dress QueenC Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/10/2014 17:26

Ooh wedding outfits yes! But you don't need to do me QueenC as I think I know what my absolute dream dress would be (Elie Saab couture, after you found those gorgeous gowns last time) and also because I think I'm going to get the Pronovias dress. I'm going to try it on again on Wednesday

Also recently I finally finished watching Gossip Girl and (spoilers!) this happened... I think I'm just going to change my RL name to Blair Waldorf Grin

libertychick · 20/10/2014 18:48

I need an outfit for the MU QueenC Smile

Drywhiteplease · 20/10/2014 19:17

Evening all.
Yes QueenC wedding outfits for each of us to wear to Blair's wedding.
Liberty well done. For years DH did the garden because he loves it. He also religiously washed the cars each Saturday and polished the shoes too. Mostly because this is what his parents did. Seemed bonkers to me getting stressed about things you really don't need to do yourself. Now we have a gardener and go to a car wash radical I'm sure you'll agree and it's a weight off his shoulders. I need to get there with the cleaning.

Novice I'm chuckling to myself about your speech! which I've rewritten for you. How I wish you'd said this........

"good afternoon, my name is Novice and I'm very important and fantastic blah blah.
Today I'm supposed to be talking about a very high brow topic blah blah, but, you know what, I'm not going to.
Instead I'd like you all to stop, and consider what season you might be. Are you a winter, autumn, spring or summer? You may think you know, but getting it wrong could be fatal to your wardrobe and general appearance over all.
Also, I'd like to think about the up and coming trends for 2015. Will you be working pastels next spring or holding on to your neons? What nail colour are we predicting will be 'in' and will you be wearing flats or heels for work................blah blah"
Now that would have been fun Grin

Karbea · 20/10/2014 19:20

dry we've a gardener too and I used to have a valet clean my car weekly I think at some point you just have to admit that you time is worth more than the money it costs to get someone else to do those things.

bettykt · 20/10/2014 19:37

Great speech Dry hope the speech went well Novice

Loved the Tabitha Simmons shoes you linked Blair not my normal style but I could definitely wear them.

One what a massive sort out, I have had a massive cull and have thrown away loads that I'll never wear again, pin stripe suits from a past life Grin

Mara hope you managed to collect your Marant top

Hello Mom great shoes you linked

Hi Karbea I can really relate to what you said about not knowing how to dress when your life changes dramatically. I've only just re- found my style mojo this last year. I spent 6 years in post child wilderness.

Liberty are you after a dress for the MU?

OneLittleLady · 20/10/2014 19:56

It's going to be a HUGE sort out when I get a chance to do it Betty I've not had a minute to start going through things with being ill and trying to get into uni and do uni work at home as well as keep the flat to some basic standard of tidiness. I'm sure my sister would 'help' though, if i asked her to probably make off with anything half decent if i didn't hide it first though

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 20:09

We have a gardener too. Dh was adamant that he wanted a big garden and that he enjoyed gardening. Fast forward 4 years and he realises that it's just too much bloody effort.

Okay, will do wedding outfits. I'm doing unlimited budget. It's just no fun othetwise. Obviously we'll have to pretend that blair is getting married in winter. And then I'll have to do another one in spring Grin. blair is it church or civil? Just wondering whether we need hats or not....

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 20:09

liberty buy the MJ tuxedo dress...

QueenCardigan · 20/10/2014 20:18

cheaper alternative to MJ dress

AmberNectarine · 20/10/2014 20:29

I don't care if she's getting married at Westminster Abbey, I'm not wearing a hat!

AmberNectarine · 20/10/2014 20:32

Oh and shop, report back on the HL dress - it is definitely not see through. What might be, however, is the space between my ears, as, in spite of trying on the XS in HN and it fitting perfectly, I ordered the S. It is, of course, far too big and as returning to shopbop is so expensive I will have to have it taken in (luckily my mum is a bit handy with a needle). What a dick. Great dress though, if you order the right size.
