Happy birthday shop Cake, Flowers,

Thank you all for your inquires, dd is better today, she had a restless night, was in pain, complained that ants are marching inside her finger (throbbing), so I gave her some calpol at dawn, and she slept well after that,

My yummy lanvin boots have arrived , I shipped them to dh office and someone from his office ,Massive box per usual

blair my style uniform always consists of a jacket, I love jackets,I'm not very tall, so jackets fit me perfectly, also a good bag and shoes, even if I'm only going to the supermarket,

im wearing my favourite uniform today, my beloved rick Owens leather jacket, with grey frame denim, Stella M scarf, and burgundy celine bag, I've fallen in love again with this bag, it's perfect, still has this fresh new leather scent,
mara that's good,I read that they've cancelled all SS15 orders, so maybe not now, end of year perhaps, so sad

No idea linus but seeing that its Sofia Coppola ,its either LV or Marc Jacobs.

libertychick · 04/11/2014 14:21

High fives to Amber! Your leggings sound great.

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2014 14:26

Omg the things I do for a bit of shopping.

Went to Matches sample sale near Bond St. Bought MaxMara cashmere jumper and navy wool Freda pencil skirt for £50 each.

Went to meeting near Waterloo and realised they had left security tag on. Had to go all the way back three different tube lines and finly going home. I left at 9am this morning.

What a palaver!

Hope the stuff still looks good when I get home.

shopafrolic · 04/11/2014 14:55

Mara glad to hear that your refund is going through - that's a relief.
Thanks for even more birthday messages - you lot are brill. I've been out to the local big M&S with my DM this morning. She bought me these cashmere lined gloves in purple which I love.

shopafrolic · 04/11/2014 14:56

Pain in the arse Marsha - nightmare
Liberty I was out when they delivered so will have to go to the sorting office tomorrow - gutted

libertychick · 04/11/2014 15:21

Noooooo shop :(
Gloves look good. What a lovely birthday you are having!

Sleepwhenidie · 04/11/2014 15:27

Bugger! I meant to go to that sample sale and completely forgot Marsha. Was it good?

OneLittleLady · 04/11/2014 15:38

Sounds like you are having a really lovely day shop which is good, you deserve it Thanks

ordered some text books this afternoon, gonna get my swot on! They are very heavy books though, lots of algebra etc. ALL THE THEORY!!!

Not looking especially stylish today in a red tartan chiffon dress, black fleece lined 300 denier tights and black leather boots. Had my spotty hobbs coat and Mqueen scarf on while I was out earlier

Drywhiteplease · 04/11/2014 15:54

Linus the Ralph Lauren leather trimmed dress is here, in the bag on my kitchen table. Plucking up the courage to get undressed and have a try on heating not on yet
Shop I look like Dopey in my hat, yes a total dick infact ....need lessons too.
Liberty I'd really like to see a pic of you wearing Pettys with a skirt....
Blair style uniform.....well I always feel fantastic in a dress, casual or smart. Tailored, fitted at the waist. I feel relaxed in straight fit boyfriend look jeans. I adore Julianne Moore's style.

Drywhiteplease · 04/11/2014 16:37

Right, I've tried the dress:
Too big.
It's not love.
Going back.
Sad
Really don't know what's come over me, I've come over all sensible Grin

Oh...and, guess what? DH is growing a BEARD Grin ......so I'm going to let myself go never and refuse to kiss him Grin

AND......Petty owners, am I fussing but the top of the boot gapes, skinnies kind of end above it or else they just bunch up. Is this just the look and I should get used to it as I've been doing or am I wearing them all wrong?

Shop Gap real skinny jeans, black t shirt, long line camel Boden grandad cardi, black Pettys and my fabulous new Burberry scarf!!!!! Thank you Flowers

AmberNectarine · 04/11/2014 16:54

I might pop into the matches sale tomorrow - am in town for a couple of press days anyway.

sleep it was the Wimbledon one near me- they had loads of J Brand. Really good.

linus pic as requested, forgive grubby carpet (so not vogue)

MN Vogue - vol. 47
Drywhiteplease · 04/11/2014 16:55

Red lip (Mac Chilli) and a swipe of black liquid eyeliner, camel coat and I'm ready for Waitrose Grin ....it's just dressing up isn't it?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/11/2014 16:55

Oh that's a shame Dry. But as you're being sensible I'll say "you didn't need it" Wink Is the beard for Movember? My sister's boyfriend insists that if he is growing a tache, he must also have a beard. Luckily DP is remaining facial hair free this month!

Momin I have been writing for a long time Blush, I did a series of 31 short novels (about 40k words each) between the ages of 12 and about 21, and finished the 32nd one a couple of years ago. This new one is the first writing I've done since then but I've been planning it on and off for about 7 years.

santa I hope your DD is feeling better today :)

Drywhiteplease · 04/11/2014 17:15

Think he couldn't be bothered to shave and now being egged on by the guys. Looks distinguished, too much grey to look hip Grin.

libertychick · 04/11/2014 17:16

Wow Blair. That's impressive writing. Have you had anything published or did you self publish? And we thought you were all about the spreadsheet Smile

I just had personal shopper session in John Lewis. Bought a dress, heels and spanx!!! I'm already re thinking the dress. Will do links later.

Dry i will do a pic. I'm not entirely sure I carry off the skirt and Pettys look but it's very comfortable possible vogue heresy putting comfort before style but that's how I roll Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/11/2014 17:25

Thanks lib :) Nope not published. As the 32 are a series, it would sort of depend on the first one(s) being good enough, and as I was 12, they aren't Grin and would need extreme rewriting. The current project is the one that I would try to get published, but that is a loooong way off, especially as having done 11/40 chapters, it's on track to be 166,000 words long. So I need to do some heavy editing!

I'm flattered you're all so interested! Tis just a hobby :)

Looking forward to links lib. And Dry I totally understand dressing up for waitrose - love it!

OneLittleLady · 04/11/2014 17:30

amber they look fab! As it happens, there's a wimbledon tkmaxx, ahem, nearby to Dp very very nearby in fact I may have to go and have a rummage soon

AmberNectarine · 04/11/2014 17:38

If your DP is in my neck of the woods one we must have coffee sometime, or share a tube post MU Wink

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2014 17:44

Impressive Blair

Amber they look great.

Dry good one on the dress.

Shop glad your birthday has been lovely so far.

Sleep it's pretty good. Some stuff is only half price which isn't enough, as you can get that kind of discount in the sales. It's not amazing, as in everything at 90% off, not by a long shot. I think my MaxMara jumper was around £180 discounted to £50. I didn't check re the Freda skirt, but that was £50 too.

I honed in on jumpers and skirts as that's what I was after. They had some shoes, not loads, some dresses and jackets. It's a fairly small space and the line took about 15 minutes to go in.

I'm glad I've finally got a wool skirt for that price so I guess I'm glad I went.

Final verdict: it's worth having a look, but be prepared for a shambolic shopping experience.

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2014 17:45

Linus I'm not sure, but they are lovely and I really like her top.

Santa that outfit sounds perfect.

One send him in!

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2014 18:04

Oh and there's quite a few things that are damaged but they mark that clearly with a tag and where the damage is on a diagram.

But I found a beautiful cashmere pale skirt with grosgrain waistband, my kind of thing. They took it to find out the price and when I got to the till there was a huge pen line down the front Sad. I would have noticed it when trying it on, and was chatting to someone as I did, and they would have too. So I think by throwing it on the paying desk they managed to draw a huge line on it with a pen that was on the desk. What a shame. Still I guess it saved me £94.

LinusDKD · 04/11/2014 18:08

DH is taking me out for dinner tonight for my birthday. No idea what to wear as the weather is awful. I might wear a C&P dress with my grey Whistles ankle boots.

Definitely not wearing my Manolos tonight. Wink

Mominatrix · 04/11/2014 19:01

shop and linus - your celebrations sound lovely.

ambre - great find, and they look great on you.

Marsha - what a nightmare! However, I have found that the experience of these massive sales is part of the "fun". Sounds like you found some nice things, but shame about the pale skirt!

Wow, Blair*! Have you thought of self publishing - isn't that how the woman who wrote 50 shades started out (incidentally, her kids were at a private catholic school prior to her fame - can you imagine the raised eyebrows of the staff? )

Dry - facial hair? Were we not just talking about hipster beards here? Is that where he got the idea? Grey does not prevent it from being hip - I have spend a good 5 minutes staring at Alishdair Willis' facial hair, and it is half grey (total time over quite a few occasions - I was not staring at it's full I-am-so-cool glory...honestly!). Completely understand dressing up for Waitrose - my mum taught me that you never know who you are going to run into and where.

one - nightmare about what your cat did. My dog prefers to destroy my shoes and leaves the furniture alone. Your outfit today sounds very funky. Am curious about the fleece lined tights - sound very cosy and perfect for winter dog walks. Where did you get them?

linus - not sure who made the flats, but they don't look like Marc Jacobs or LV. They have a Lanvin vibe to me.

mara - I have a very boring wardrobe, and have stuck to one label for bags and scarves for the past 10 years (with the very occasional deviation). I like Hermes because I just don't have to think about the bag - it is simple, no label, sturdy, well made, takes a beating, and is timeless. The scarves and shawls are little works of art - but I am worried at their forays into laser printing will mean that the quality will diminish will time. I have about 10 shawls, double that in scarves (what I started wearing, but now very rarely wear - gave quite a few to my mum), and about a dozen bags.

OneLittleLady · 04/11/2014 19:10

mom they are from primark. £3.50 a pair and so so warm and cosy. they are my winter savior and i always have a few pairs on the go to keep me warm as i don't often wear trousers

AmberNectarine · 04/11/2014 19:14

Seriously though, having met you mom, you are very glam, I'm not surprised. I am a bag whore and am not faithful to any label.

Carried my little silver Alexander Wang Rockie today - I do love that bag, makes me so happy. Actually, I lie, I started the day with the Gucci Disco and switched at lunchtime - see? can't even be faithful for one day.

Having worn these leggings all day I am now committed to getting an all leather pair as well - they are sublimely comfortable, way better than the leathers I've tried before (except the J Brand which were on a par).
