While the autumn leaves are still falling, winter is definitely in the air for some of us! Come and join us for some friendly fashion chat.

Hipster beards don't do it for me either although love the rest of the look- skinny trousers, pointy shoes. None of my male friends or dh have succumbed to that particular fashion luckily. probably because their beards would all be grey Grin

Looking forward to a dress update Blair

Novice your local pharmacy may do the flu jab/spray. I get mine done at Lloyds chemist which saves the whole begging for a GP appointment scene!

QueenCardigan · 22/10/2014 10:40

I hate it when dh grows a beard when he's on holiday as he's too lazy to shave. I refuse to snog him althought will accept oral sex anytime Grin

Good luck lib
blair do report back
dry brave woman. one/dry what's the forecast for next week up there? I think I'm very near you but despite hoping to meet up I don't think it will be possible. It sounds like my fil dementia is getting much worse and so we need to be all hands on deck to give mil a break. It's sad to think that it may be the last time that my dc see him too.

Just been to wilko to get craft stuff to take away next week ( if anyone dc likes crafts they are v cheap) and popped into white stuff which is next door. I have accidentally done a big shopping spree. Will link later as I must get on with cleaning...

Karbea · 22/10/2014 10:43

liberty I can remember years ago a girlfriend of mine made her boyfriend grow a goatee beard because of oral sex, she said it was better.

Stokey · 22/10/2014 10:59

Hello all - have been lurking as am on self-imposed spending ban.

The Guardian had an srticle a few months ago about how we have reached "peak beard" - unfortunately I don't think anyone has told the hipsters.

I think those little strips under the lip are called "ticklers" because of their link to oral sex?

Am not a fan of any sort of facial hair. DH has been threatening for years to do Mo-vember but knows it will mean no snogs.

BrandyAlexander · 22/10/2014 11:12

Oh those last few posts have made me laugh. Shop will have a heart attack when she appears later.Grin

It's taken Harrods 6 days to despatch my Paraty bag. I ordered last week and only just got a dispatch note.Hmm

AmberNectarine · 22/10/2014 13:17

I go away for five minutes and it's turned into an episode of Loose Women

Elegantly attired in head to toe Sweaty Betty as just back from a run. Am off to sprogs' harvest festival show in a short while so shall change into black polo neck, skinnies and Gazelle high tops as it is brass monkeys out.

Took my too big Helmut Lang dress round to my mum and she has pinned it and will work her magic, god love her. Still having a face palm moment about why I would order a size too large in a bodycon dress.

Off out tomorrow night for nice cocktails. Am idly wondering what to wear that I won't free to death in. Quite fancy wearing my new Acne floral shoes so may build an outfit around them.

AmberNectarine · 22/10/2014 13:17

By the way one, love the sound of your outfit today!

Karbea · 22/10/2014 13:18

Sometimes I think it's quicker just to go in and buy it in person. It gets so frustrating waiting for something's. Some companies are so quick... Some less so...

Fedupnagging · 22/10/2014 14:08

Met a friend for coffee earlier and she dragged me into New Look, Next and M&Co. M&Co was awful (not been in for years) but was suprised at how much I liked in the others. Lots of tartan skirts I loved in NL and coats.

Loved this coat and
this one although wrong colour for me. Definitely need a coat with a zip!

Loved a black furry gilet in Next and their skinny winter crops. Also loved this shirt which they also had in black and plum.

Still, I didn't buy anything as hoping to meet a friend on Kings Rd next week for a spot of retail therapy.

Glad your dress is getting sorted Amber. Sweaty Betty outfit sounds super comfy.

Queen Shock at ticklers! I had no idea! Sorry about dfil, it must be very hard for all concerned.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/10/2014 14:15

Just been into Cos and witnessed all the hipster beards for myself! Couldn't help sniggering Grin

Oh and decided to buy the Pronovias dress Wink they had the right size sample this time and it is just so beautiful. Yay!!

Fedupnagging · 22/10/2014 14:25

Am so pleased you have finally decided to get the dress Blair. You will look beautiful, it looked perfect for you. Now you need shoes, underwear, veil etc etc.......

santamarianovella · 22/10/2014 14:27

Dh has a beard, not those big bushy type ones , but a neat stub beard, no complains from me Wink

Funny you mentioned hipsters, there is a big hipster culture going on where I live, one of the guys working with me is a hipster, ,beard ,tattoos ,and he has that weird hair ,shaved on sides. although his English is fluent I absolutely have no idea what his anecdotes means Confused,

novice big department stores usually take ages to deliver, selfridges are good and usually dispatch next day, but places like liberty take 2 days, , but 6 days to process??! God! It would have been faster to nip there yourself,

liberty good luck, you will do fine,

queen so sorry to hear about your DFIL, it must be difficult for all of you,

MarshaBrady · 22/10/2014 14:27

Blair that's fantastic!

MarshaBrady · 22/10/2014 14:29

Ha I used to be all around that hipster / shaved look in 20s. And now am a bit in Shoreditch / Hoxton area, the home of the hipster. No comment on the rest of it ha

How's work going Santa? Are you enjoying it.

MarshaBrady · 22/10/2014 14:30

There should be a ? at the end of that.

shopafrolic · 22/10/2014 14:36

I will never look at a man with a beard the same again Blush
Lib hope it went well.
I've pulled DS out of nursery for the next two days and tomorrow I'm going to take him to London on the train to meet my DSil and nieces for an early dinner. V excited.
Hope everyone is good. Not enough time to catch up on everything.

Stokey · 22/10/2014 14:54

Wahey - great news Blair, really pleased the Pronovias one worked out for you.

That grey coat is lovely Fedup. I have a couple of dresses from New Look that I always get complimented on, you can definitely find the odd jewel amongst the teenage gear.

LinusDKD · 22/10/2014 15:41

Wow, blair well done! You can relax now you've found the dress. Wink

santa no complaints from me either [wink wink nudge nudge]

I am so happy you have found a project you can work on. I wish I could do that but in my old line of work that's impossible.

Saw this and thought of marsha. I only like it the way it's styled in the last picture.

Wearing my Jimmies today with my new Uniqlo heattech tee and Uniqlo ultrafine merino v neck jumper in blue. Only 12 degrees here, brrr.

LinusDKD · 22/10/2014 15:42

Oh and have fun tomorrow shop!

santamarianovella · 22/10/2014 15:50

Work is good marsha, completely different scene , still getting to know distributors,sellers..etc, but so nice to be doing it again,

this bag made me Smile,

QueenCardigan · 22/10/2014 16:03

Yay blsir I'm so happy that you've got your dress. Have you planned your colour scheme? Do you have bridesmaids?

White stuff don't seem to have the stuff I bought today. I think they'd literally got new stock in that morning but obviously the website isn't featuring it yet.

linus what's the sizing like on the heatech? I'm after a long sleeve tee and not sure to get s or m.

QueenCardigan · 22/10/2014 16:07

found this one on the website. I was a bit Shock at the price but I really liked it and it will be useful for next week away as its nice and warm.
tee

shopafrolic · 22/10/2014 16:12

Blair how could I miss that you got your dress? How exciting! :)

santamarianovella · 22/10/2014 16:15

I missed it too, yay! blair that's great news

OneLittleLady · 22/10/2014 16:36

Great news blair

I am exhausted and so so cold. I've also had heartburn ALL day that nothing seems to be shifting. Obviously something I ate yesterday didn't agree with me!
