While the autumn leaves are still falling, winter is definitely in the air for some of us! Come and join us for some friendly fashion chat.

Thanks for nice comments on the dress. I'm really pleased with it. Going to wear it tomorrow, doing a presentation to (gulp) 80 people. Mara it was in a London TK Maxx, burbs not central London. In the 'day dresses' section. I saw a few I liked by that brand.

libertychick · 21/10/2014 21:58

Have you had a flu jab Novice? You really do sound exhausted. I'm counting down the days to Friday week then I have 2 weeks off (well going in one day to do a presentation).

Mominatrix · 21/10/2014 22:01

Love the shoes, sleep. I saw something like this i think at J crew this summer, and I didn't pounce. Regret it. V jealous of Bologna - amazing town, and more amazing food.

liberty - great dress! I never have any luck at TK Maxx, but my mum always finds the most amazing things. TK Maxxing is her hobby - and I am not exaggerating.

I am definitely a Philophile, and have always been. Being so short has limited me in terms of prints, and I have a love of neutrals in simple shapes. Does not mean I am always worthy of being called a Philophile, just that it is an aspiration of mine (quickly covers up yoga cover up trousers that I happen to live in even if I have not exercised, grubby t shirt and ratty jumper).

Hello Fedup. No name change, I just have disappeared for a while. I have a tendency to get overwhelmed with life, and flit in and out of here. It is one of my favourite places to be though, and if I am here, it means that calm has once again returned to my life.

shop: enjoy the relatives, and love lots of girly fun. I missed having a female in my household and got a female dog a couple of months ago. Not quite the same, but I do festoon her in pink (pink raincoat, pink lead, pink collar).

I'm on a huge Vanessa Bruno kick and DH banned me from buying any more clothes this year as I went a bit crazy in Vanessa Bruno on my Paris Birthday Trip in September (1 leather jacket, a winter coat, 1 leather dress, 2 other dresses, 2 skirts, a jumper, a pair of shoes). LOVE her things and I think she is very under-the-radar here. Also, I did remind him that this year ends December 31 Wink.

QueenCardigan · 21/10/2014 22:05

fedup so sorry that I forgot to pm you. That's very rude of me Blush. I did get the lipstick thanks and when I looked at it in the tube I thought that's not bright. And then I tried it on! I need to try it properly when I'm going out so will try on Thursday and if it's deginitely too bright I'll pass it on. May be good for you shop.

blsir I love that coast skirt. It's the one I tried on weeks ago but it clung rather unflatteringly to my stomach. Unfortunstely where I've lost weight its emphasised my 'pouch' even more.

Lovely shoes sleep

Loads of you are still naked at blairs wedding. This time of year is not good to buy a wedding outfit.

Did you see that Oscar de la Renta has died?

QueenCardigan · 21/10/2014 22:15

In a tribute to Oscar, I will choose this dress for blair

Drywhiteplease · 21/10/2014 22:20

That is a beautiful wedding dress.

Drywhiteplease · 21/10/2014 22:25

Phoebe Philo. Hmm...
Stylish lady but not really me. I like clean lines and tailoring. I like neutrals. I quite like trainers with stuff. I like short/jumper/ cropped trouser combo. I don't like baggy, shapeless clothes, jumpers that look too big, masculine looking clothes etc.

santamarianovella · 21/10/2014 22:27

Oh mom I'm big vanessa Bruno fan, I wore a VB black wool skirt and Saint laurent sweater today for my new job, its last winters, its my only AW skirt, and cant find anything like it, I love her boutique on rue de castiglione,

queen I saw this on the news this morning, he was working up to very recently,RIP

Sleepwhenidie · 21/10/2014 22:31

How funny the PP thing has come up, on the weekend I was (silently, DH would have been Confused Smile) how incredibly powerfully she has influenced fashion - elegantly dressed women all over Bologna wearing trainers and cool teenage girls with big black framed glasses....

Lib good luck for the presentation, I would hate to do that!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/10/2014 22:38

Oh my goodness QueenC that dress is gorgeous, just stunning, right up there with the Elie Saabs. I wonder how much it is? Wink
How sad that he has died. I had no idea he was 82. RIP.

I didn't realise you had already tried that Coast skirt - doh!

Good luck for tomorrow Lib and glad yours went well novice but now you need to rest again :)

Drywhiteplease · 21/10/2014 23:00

Blair meant to say thanks for pinning the dresses, both gorgeous and v me, tempting. But, I'm done for Christmas outfits. Have yet to debut my lovely leather skirt, and have a few top and black skinny outfits sorted .

BrandyAlexander · 21/10/2014 23:49

Lib, not sure how I missed your dress earlier, it's fantastic! Anyway, very best of luck for your talk. I am sure it will go well. If you want Dry to nip down on the train and do it for you, she'll be really keen! Grin

Thanks for the good health wishes. :) No, haven't had 'flu jab yet, i was supposed to have had it the week that i fell sick. I think i will get it when I get back from travels. I am tired but have about 3 more weeks to get through before i stop juggling a gazillion things.

libertychick · 22/10/2014 07:08

novice flu jab takes 2 -3 weeks to take effect so see if you can get it sooner. Also get the DCs done (just a nose spray for them no needles) and then you have less chance of them catching it and infecting you!

New dress on and on way into London. dry if you fancy coming down to cover it you are very welcome! I'm not on agenda until 2pm so you could probably make it!

Sleep making it ok to wear trainers with just about anything is the best thing about Philo!

libertychick · 22/10/2014 07:12

Just looked at the Oscar de LA Rents wedding dress QueenC pinned. Stunning! Would be perfect for you Blair.

libertychick · 22/10/2014 07:15

LA Rents!!!! Predictive text gone mad :)

MarshaBrady · 22/10/2014 07:29

Best of luck Liberty, you'll be great.

Philo and Marant have had a big impact, love both. Although they are quite different in style.

OneLittleLady · 22/10/2014 07:40

You'll be great liberty deep breaths! you'll be a star

Ugh, wish I didn't have to be up at 6am for uni, it's so dark and cold. Hopefully i will get through all of today without having to be sent home again!

Burgundy jacquard pattern dress with sweetheart neckline, black long sleeve merino cardigan, black 300 denier fleece lined tights, black brogue style shoes and my black and purple spot long length coat with black cashmere scarf. trying to stay warm! lots of black!

Fedupnagging · 22/10/2014 08:04

Morning,
Lib good luck today.

Novice, hope you are taking lots of vitamins to give your body a boost? And yes to the flu jab ASAP.

Blair is it today you are trying on that dress again?say yes to the dress

One hope you get through your day today. Are you feeling any better?
I like the simplicity of Phoebe Philo designs although some are a little too masculine and shapeless. I like to see a bit more colour though.

Drywhiteplease · 22/10/2014 08:04

liberty best of luck. You look great. Would love to come and cheer you on rather than doing my day job if I leave now I could make it for 2pm! If you hear enthusiastic clapping and whooping from the back it'll be meGrin

I'm not wearing socks today.....this could be a mistake Hmm

libertychick · 22/10/2014 08:16

Ok - so when are hipster beards going to go out of style?? It seems like every under 35 year old man in London has one. Every meeting I go to someone else has grown one and I have to do a shocked double take. I was in Cos and few weeks ago and EVERY SINGLE man in the shop, staff and customers had one. and what I really want to know is does this mean that none of the hipster girls are getting oral sex??

LinusDKD · 22/10/2014 08:32

Morning!

lib good luck today! And maybe hipster girls don't get a bikini wax so they don't feel the bushy (ahem) beard. Wink

novice hope you can get the flu jab soon, sounds like you need it.

santa not sure if I could ever be a Philophile as I do tend to be on the messy side. I obviously love her bags and I like her clothing but the whole look is a bit too neat for me.

mominatrix welcome back!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/10/2014 09:14

Lol at hipster beard/oral convo Grin

Yes fedup I'm on the train now, trying it at 10 then going shopping after with my sister. I am feeling nervous as I'm not sure what I'll do if I can't make up my mind.

Aww ok Dry that sounds v sensible but I'm glad you liked them anyway!

Waves to Linus

OneLittleLady · 22/10/2014 09:31

sat in class waiting for lecture to start.we have an 'observer' today in the second half of the lecture Hmm

cannot even contemplate no socks you are a braver woman than most dry Grin

today is a very late finish, hope i can ladt the whole day Confused

BrandyAlexander · 22/10/2014 09:31

Lol! Yes i don't get the whole trendy beard things either. No, just no. Thankfully dh did that phase pre-me. poor ex-girlfriends!

Good luck today Lib, lovely dress.

Dh and ds have had the jab and spray but they wouldn't give it to dd on the nhs as she's older than 4 and her asthma isn't severe enough. Hmm. It's on my to do list to see if the local private hospital does them for kids. Sigh.

Have fun Blair can't wait to hear the dress verdict!

I have gone from chic yesterday to shab today as working from home. White Abercombie trackie bottoms and a Primark pink sweater. Grin

OneLittleLady · 22/10/2014 09:45

novice thats bullshit your dd being refused a jab for not having severe enough asthma.any asthmatic is entitled to one no matter what the severity of their condition.they are in a vulnerable group so as such are entitled to one Angry
