BrandyAlexander · 03/10/2014 02:36

LinusDKD · 03/10/2014 08:07

And then I saw it was novice who went clubbing! Shock

Love starting a Friday with a drunk Novice post.

OneLittleLady · 03/10/2014 08:53

haha, I am not guilty this time linus! although our group is planning a night out soon!

MarshaBrady · 03/10/2014 14:18

Marant Etoile blazer in smallest size so not too big and Marant Etoile scarf. Feeling a bit eep, but had a fab meeting, out with lovely people, impulsive buys - was a great day!

Ps bizarre cut out effect from hanging on white door in sunny room.

QueenCardigan · 03/10/2014 14:18

Hello. Just where has the week gone? I feel like I've mssed out on masses of chat but I just don't seem to have had the time to Mumsnet much this week. Absolutely no fashion news from me although I've decided that I need a new navy going out blouse preferably for tomorrow night Grin.

I'm feeling old as I'm the mother of a 9 yo. How did that happen? Off out tonight for tea with a couple of dc friends although poor little de may have to stay at home with GP as she's not well. Possibly another urine infection which of course I'm stressing about as last time she ended up in hospital.

blair, I tried on two or three and knew when I put it on. I knew I wanted plain with no embellishment etc and I knew I wanted straps but wasn't too sure about the actual shape I wanted. Good luck.

LinusDKD · 03/10/2014 14:24

one I know you get cold quite easily so when I saw this I thought of you.

Looks lightweight enough to be worn underneath your new coat or on top of a jumper (without adding bulk)

They also do a tartan one.

queenc your poor DD!

I used to get UTI's often when I was a child and when they weren't picked up upon quickly enough they would turn into kidney infections (ouch)

It wasn't until my DP's took me to a urologist that they found out that the entrance of my urethra was too narrow so that when I was emptying my bladder a bit of urine would stay behind causing an infection.

So I had a small operation (under GA) when I was about 11 or 12 years old and didn't have another UTI again until I was pregnant with DS more than 20 years later.

OneLittleLady · 03/10/2014 14:47

poor dd queenc i hope shes better soon.

i know how you feel about ages,my ds is ten and i dont know how!

i love that linus i may pop in store next time im in london for a try on

libertychick · 03/10/2014 15:16

Sounds like a great day Marsha, lovely scarf and yay at finding your holy grail perfect blazer at last.

Hope your DD is ok QueenC and good that your DS is recovered Linus.

Grin at Novice out clubbing - how the hell do you do it lady??? Just a day or two after that flight as well - you are made of tough stuff! Thanks for the Flowers Smile

So I am still working crazy hours but have had some shopping relief. None of the dresses I ordered the other day were any good but this Coast top is lovely and is a keeper. I bought this scarf in TKMaxx - it's really lovely. And I bought the black Uniqlo sleeveless black silk shirt that Amber recommended and today ordered the long sleeved version in navy as there was another thread highlighting that they are reduced.

Blair I tried on 2 wedding dresses and liked both. Bought the cheap one Smile but then I was never too bothered about the whole wedding thing and rather surprised myself at ending up in a white traditional dress.

One you sound really happy and like you are settling into student life really well - I hope this doesn't sound weird or patronising but I feel really proud of you and proud to know someone who is dealing with huge changes in her life so well.

Big waves to everyone else - hope all are well.

OneLittleLady · 03/10/2014 15:36

it doesn't sound patronising at all liberty don't worry about that. It's nice to know that there are people who appreciate my efforts Smile lovely to see you on thread again btw

shopafrolic · 03/10/2014 16:46

for QueenC

libertychick · 03/10/2014 17:37

That top is perfect for QueenC. Great choice Shop.

I have just booked an appointment with Selfridges Denim bar next week - small treat as my big deadline is the day before the apt.

MarshaBrady · 03/10/2014 17:38

Thanks Liberty, Really lovely to see you btw, you are missed!

MarshaBrady · 03/10/2014 17:39

Good luck with the deadline btw, can't wait for an update at our next mu

Drywhiteplease · 03/10/2014 18:23

Beautiful top Shop

Fedupnagging · 03/10/2014 18:31

Marsha, love the blazer and scarf you posted earlier. Glad you had a great day.

Novice, just where do you get all your energy from?!

Queen hope your dd recovers soon. Not much fun for her. And yes, blink and your children have grown up Grin.

Love the blouse you linked Shop.

Inspired by some of your successful shopping trips to TKMaxx, I decided to find a larger store a bit further away and it was so much better than the local one. I picked up a pair of J Brand jeans and a
Michael Kors down jacket which I love.

I also picked up lots of toiletries, reed diffusers etc etc. I find I can't leave TK without at least one candle, one hand soap and one bag of liquorice!

There was a lot of Kew cashmere including Mara's jumper and a fabulous Vera Wang dress which was far too small for me. Lots of coatigans too but none that blew me away.

MarshaBrady · 03/10/2014 18:47

That's great shopping Fedup, and thanks!

Liberty meant to say love the scarf and top

LinusDKD · 03/10/2014 18:59

Very Envy about the TK Maxx haul fedup! Why can't I have stores like that here?!

Lovely top shop but doesn't queenc have a thing about exposed zips? Or is that dry? Wink

marsha love your jacket and scarf! I tried to channel my inner E Alt today with white Baxters with a belt and an old lightblue Ralph Lauren shirt and Tod's loafers but I was a bit too preppy and not enough Rock and Roll to be EA.

I think the huge crest on the shirt and the loafers made the difference but I actually did like the overall look even though it was not what I set out to achieve.

All it needed was a less preppy shirt, high heels and a jacket really. Wink

I have decided I need a nice jacket like you marsha so I'll be on the lookout for that. Maybe not black but navy or grey.

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 03/10/2014 19:31

I love an exposed zip, QueenC hates them Grin......all tastes on here!

LinusDKD · 03/10/2014 20:04

For lovers of leopard print, have a look at this dressy coat

They sell it at Alva London (scandi brands shop) but I didn't like the way they styled it so I looked for another picture.

I think this coat would look great dressed down with a plain tee and some boyfriend jeans.
