linus how do I turn off autocorrect?

LinusDKD · 23/09/2014 19:43

queenc

Settings>general>keyboard>predictive

It was soooo doing my head in. I switch it off on all devices as I type in three different languages and it just screws everything up.

Stupid IOS 8 installed it automatically, grrr.

QueenCardigan · 23/09/2014 20:20

linus i love you Smile

LinusDKD · 23/09/2014 20:39

I love you too queenc mwah! Grin

Hopefully · 23/09/2014 21:31

QueenC are you meeting the MNer who came with you for colour?

LinusDKD · 23/09/2014 21:34

Have a look at Uniqlo hopefully, they have lots of tartan shirts.

AmberNectarine · 23/09/2014 21:46

Could you get away with this hopefully?

libertychick · 23/09/2014 21:50

Quick delurk!!! I have been avoiding MN as I am trying to focus on work and getting more sleep but was stuck on a train earlier so had a look and saw the shop colour debate!!! Shop my darling, you are bloody gorgeous and why wouldn't you suit a range of colours??? No offence to anyone who either agrees with this stuff or to Hopefully and others who do the analysis but no system in the world can possibly capture the range of diversity in people! TBH I have been considering doing HoC etc for ages but it's the worry that it would put me off colours I love that has stopped me from going for it.

Quick link I have finally found a link to the coatigan I got in a charity shop recently for £35!! I love it and have been wearing it all the time. Ditto for the Petty boots - great buy.

Hope all are well - am missing the chat here but need to keep my head down for another few weeks. Mwah to all Smile

maradesbois · 23/09/2014 21:54

Evening,

Blimey, my head is spinning from all this colour malarkey. Don't know enough about it all to comment except to say that Shop you look amazing in khaki, dark green, orange & brown. Some items that spring to mind are the jaeger dress that Blair found you & your big Anya bag. DON'T get rid of anything or go off it, you have a fab wardrobe Smile. Yes, you clearly can wear black as well but maybe see it as an opportunity to introduce more ideas & be less limited to autumn only rather than have a complete overhaul.

Speaking of autumn it is well on the way here, despite wearing sandals this afternoon I had to put the heating on this evening. Need to get summer clothes out again for trip next week though, yay.

Blair see what you mean about the top and bottom of the two dresses you linked last night. Lace sleeves would be lovely too.

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2014 22:01

Shop I've always known you as a super chic woman with a clear idea of your own style and brilliant colour choices. You said the original advisor influenced changes in your style. What was it like before?

santamarianovella · 23/09/2014 22:03

No no no!no elieen fisher shop they are basically an old ladies brand in the US,
I can't see you in faux fur or chunky necklaces. Sorry
I'm not convinced, and it really makes me Shock that one person managed to turn your life upside down most of what she described, doesn't suit your look at all, yes chunky knits look good on you, but ... Coats... That gorgeous M&S one looked incredible on you,
Florals are not you at all, hardware on shoes? Like loafers? You hate them!!

Look, you are suited to a more streamlined silhouettes, why complicate things by adding prints and florals?

I'm not making sense Blush, in the middle of something but had to post,

Hugs and kisses to the lovely liberty

justasecond · 23/09/2014 22:15

Totally agree Santa I was just scared to say it! Great advice from Liberty too

Drywhiteplease · 23/09/2014 22:15

And Shop what ideas for the school run did she suggest?

Awks · 23/09/2014 22:15

I've just bought this plaid and it's the loveliest thick flannel fabric.

justasecond · 23/09/2014 22:16

What was the stylists own style like? Do you think she was projecting her own preferences on you?

QueenCardigan · 23/09/2014 22:18

You know what- I know I said that I could see you in the stuff that the stylist recommended but santa as always, speaks a lot of sense. Fwiw, the florals I can imagine you in are graphic type things not ditsy girly florals

lib also makes sense when she says about adding in different colours to your autumn palette.

hopefully, yes, it's queenofwhatever that I'm meeting tomorrow. I'm sure that shop has just bought a couple of shirts, can't remember where from. Gap maybe?

Awks · 23/09/2014 22:19

Shop I'm relatively new on here but I read your posts and think that you are obviously a women who looks good. Your links are lovely, you obviously have an innate sense of style and when you describe what you are wearing, you sound stylish. But some of the things on that list are weird. Floral prints? Don't let someone random shake your confidence, will you?

OneLittleLady · 23/09/2014 22:20

waves to liberty

i cant see you in faux fur and florals either shop i can see you in some of the deeper winter colours though.faux fur and florals are more my style and i think its safe to say our styles are very different

Awks · 23/09/2014 22:23

and I linked to the wrong tartan shirt here Dolt.

shopafrolic · 24/09/2014 08:00

Hopefully I have this GAP one and this one

Morning all BTW. Thanks for being so awesome yesterday. I got texts, PMs and all sorts! Feel a bit silly getting in a panic but I have spent the last 2 and a bit years building my wardrobe from scratch and to find out my colours may be slightly wrong is concerning for me (not to mention expensive). I can imagine the lurkers think I'm a complete nutter Grin.

Re: florals - I said to her that I don't suit them, she said you can't do soft, ditzy prints but you could do graphic florals.
Re: hardware on shoes - we were looking at ankle boots and she was saying I can wear zips and buckles (which I already do). No loafers were mentioned, although there were some fab pointed toe flats....... She told me to stick to pointed toe and not round toe in flats (which I had started to do anyway).
She didn't say I had anything wrong style wise other than my colours. When I have a bit more time later I'll try and take some pics of ideas in magazines that she circled.

Not sure where to go from here re: colours. I do want to know as I find it such a useful way of knowing what to shop for. I think I will be booking an HoC day, I just wish Hopefully lived a bit closer by! :)

Today I am wearing black TS skinnies, Pistols, Uniqlo Lulu Guiness sweat and Gucci cuff watch. Off to apply the red lippy!

Morning all,

Shop, some very sensible advice from the MNV collective re your analysis yesterday. Personally I think you wear your colours and style are spot on from what I have seen but I guess it wouldn't hurt to introduce some new aspects. However, there is no point wearing, say floral, if you don't like floral regardless of whether it may suit you. Am I making sense?

Nice to see you popping in Lib, lovely coatigan.

Blair how are you feeling- have you managed to beat the cold?

The M&S boots arrived yesterday and on first look am not keen. Will try them on and post for advice later.

Went to the theatre last night and really struggled to decided what to wear - weather is distinctly autumnal but is warm inside plus the fact, I am baking hot most of the time! In the end wore BR black 7/8's, jigsaw raspberry bat wing s/s jumper, leopard print flats and a cape/wrap thing.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/09/2014 08:48

I think so fedup, thanks :) Dosed myself up yesterday, a guy who sits near me at work has been ill so I don't think I was just paranoid.

The weather is really strange at the moment! It's definitely colder though. I painted my toenails last night and when I went to bed my feet were so cold I had to wear socks all night. Your outfit sounds lovely, what did you see at the theatre?

Shop I think a HoC day would really help you decide, it is annoying to have to pay for it on top of your stylist, but since colour analysis is their "thing" then I think I would trust them the most. How do you feel in today's black outfit?

I'm off work today, off to Silverstone later to learn how to drive my car properly Grin can't wait!

MarshaBrady · 24/09/2014 09:11

Morning

Shop I can see you in your existing wardrobe with the addition of black. But not sure where that fits in the whole colour thing. But orange, khaki etc do look fab on you.

Whatever you do keep that lovely wardrobe of yours! And yes to HoC day, to see the final outcome if you like.

Fedup great outift. What did you see at the theatre, was it good?

Blair have fun!

MarshaBrady · 24/09/2014 09:13

I do think a stylist could project, one thing about a style day I guess is that the person has to follow a process which might mitigate that. I haven't done it, but can see Amber for eg really suits her style analysis.

But it's good she says keep going as you areShop, just the colour thing.
