Glad you're feeling a bit better this morning Shop good advice from everyone on here.

DD2 has cried her eyes out the last three days at nursery. Any advice? She's 2.5 and has been with a nanny til now. She's only doing two days a week at nursery and was fine settling in and for the first day but has been miserable ever since. I'm not sure how long to keep trying or whether I should let her go back to her nanny for 6 months and try again when she's three. It's so hard leaving them to go to work when they're hanging on to you crying to go home.

shopafrolic · 24/09/2014 09:56

Oh Stokey poor you (and DD2). DS cried continually for ages at nursery drop off (and still does now when I drop him off at school, but literally the minute he is over the threshold (and thinks I have gone) he stops. And he always has a great time while he is there.
How is she while she is there? Does she keep crying? Is she upset when collected?

Morning all!

marsha yes, that is true, sometimes they fallow guidelines, sometimes saying "look you can do ...etc...etc..". is all what they've been taught,

shop don't buy anything yet, I would never keep quiet about something that looks wrong on you, or feel it doesn't work ,your wardrobe represents you perfectly. Its a good thing you can wear black.

santamarianovella · 24/09/2014 10:05

Ok, I see you've done that by the time I was typing, Grin

Oh stokey dd, was just like that,it took her some time to settle in, don't worry,

Stokey · 24/09/2014 10:16

They say she has been quite unhappy all day Sad

And she keeps saying she doesn't want to go. I will persevere for now but it's really tough. I made DH take her this morning as thought she may find it easier to leave him but she was still very upset.

I would do the same Shop - I wouldn't be able to let it go!

Stokey · 24/09/2014 10:41

I just phoned nursery and she's got a temperature so my nanny is going to get her. Actually I feel better that hopefully she was just sad as she wasn;t feeling well poor creature.

shopafrolic · 24/09/2014 10:49

Oh bless. Perhaps that's the reason why then Stokey. It is so tough, I sympathise massively. I spent a lot of time crying on my car but the nursery would always reassure me that he was fine after I left (they even let me peak through the windows to check!). See how she is once she's better but I would definitely give her a week or so before worrying too much......

Hello all,

Shop glad to hear you've not done anything reckless like eBay your fab wardrobe Grin. Sounds like you're going to have lots of fun with black and other new colours.

Stokey ah, poor dd. I would persevere with nursery if you feel you can though, it will help her get used to a school-like environment while still being very nurturing with plenty of cuddles from staff.

Blair have fun! That would be my petrol-head dh's dream day not mine

Marsha all good now tks. Made up with dh after a little tiff the other day. Going away on sun to take ds to gps then away proper on mon. Both of my dvf dresses have arrived so will have a trying on session tonight.

Betty think you asked if I would keep both, unfortunately not, don't think I could justify the expense of 2 going out dresses when I dress up so little.

Have picked up some last minute holiday bits, going to try footner on my hooves tonight plus got some chanel makeup & a fab pale blue & cream cashmere sweater at tk maxx. Will try and find links later when home.

QueenCardigan · 24/09/2014 13:34

Sshop that pin doesn't work. Glad you're feeling happier today. Wrt style advice, I think it's often good to try things out of your comfort zone should take my own advice so the new things she's suggested may work really well. I kept seeing lots of furs today that I can really see you wearing in a dramatic cruella de vil type way. Deffo not ditsy florals as I said but graphic and hardware wise I was thinking along the line of rockstuds and buckles etc. I'm just not wholly convinced by the navy peacoat as I think it may be too classic for you. Just go with it and have fun.

Had a lovely morning. Bought some lovely comfy granny slippers which when I link later you will piss yourselves laughing at how fugly they are Grin. Tried on some shoes and skirts which were nice but not love.

maradesbois · 24/09/2014 13:37

So cold today, did the school run in ballet flats (those tod's gommino dots are a death trap on wet pavements btw) then rushed home to change into socks & pistols. Wearing burgundy gap skinny khakis with pale blue denim shirt also gap tucked in. Tan fendi belt from the mall outlet in Tuscany (where Wit shops allegedly, but of trivia), Burberry raincoat & burgundy smythson tote I wore at the mu. Feels good to be in autumn clothes.

QueenCardigan · 24/09/2014 13:38

Oh stokey I've been lucky that all mine have been fine at nursery but I know those odd days when they have cried it just breaks your heart. I would maybe persevere a little longer if she's been unwell and see if she enjoys it once feeling better. If not you maybe could put her back with nanny and try again later. Which year does she start school as mara said she needs to get used to that kind of environment.

Stokey · 24/09/2014 14:15

Mara your outfit sounds lovely

She's not starting school til 2016 QueenC so she does have a bit of time, but I felt she was ready for a bit more stimulation hence starting nursery 2 days a week. Dd1 loved nursery and has a great group of friends from there so hopefully she just needs a bit more settling in time.

I just bought this floral flannel Ines shirt from Uniqlo. I wasn't sure about the style but it was so cosy on and would work well with skinnies I think.

OneLittleLady · 24/09/2014 15:16

shop what was that website with the zebra skirt?i cant remember at all and googling for zebra skirts doesnt bring it up Thanks

shopafrolic · 24/09/2014 15:46

OMG One that was ages ago. I'm afraid I can't remember. They were vintage style skirts - have you tried googling that?

OneLittleLady · 24/09/2014 16:45

I'll check out the two you've mentioned shop

Mini Gracie has arrived and is just gorgeous, I love her already. Big big thank you to the lovely liberty for passing her my way Thanks

Hopefully · 24/09/2014 16:54

Shop seeing a HoC person sounds like a good idea which one is it? I would explain your dilemma and say how important it is to see the difference between right and wrong. Is there anyone who could go with you in case you struggle to see it? Or maybe make sure you're in a group so you have the reassurance of it not just being the consultant's word for it.

Hopefully · 24/09/2014 17:01

Oh and thank you for the shirt links, will browse properly when at computer later.

Next question: how old is too old for wacky hair colour? Am contemplating growing my hair (currently have v sharp asymmetric bob, but no time at all to style it on school mornings until baby will sleep in her cot and I can get up earlier), but it feels really boring when it's long so I'm contemplating something bonkers. Maybe an ombre like this.

shopafrolic · 24/09/2014 17:02

Hopefully will PM you.

santamarianovella · 24/09/2014 17:34
