John Lewis are crap again on our fridge freezer and hob. Hmm seriously!

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 16:31

Redeemed by lovely new kitchen JL guy.

maradesbois · 20/09/2014 17:31

Karbea not bragging at all, we love to hear about nice things on here whatever the budget.

Novice I would imagine that you upped the glamour quotient at soft play this morning Grin

One I echo what Shop, Linus etc have already said but know from experience how hard it is. Today I woke to email from dh announcing that his flight was cancelled thus will only be home tomorrow am instead of first thing today. Feel like we've come down to London for nothing and when I asked ds what he wanted to do today he said 'see my daddy' it nearly broke my heart.

Anyway, we got on with it & went to park then into town for lunch. I feel guilty for saying this but parenting seems relentless atm doing it all on my own. Have had 2 major meltdowns from ds already today, tv is banned for rest of weekend! I know he's tired from school and needs his father but nonetheless am not going to excuse unacceptable behaviour.

Back to S&B managed to pop v briefly into DVF on way home to try on Zaritas. Love the longer length in navy, short one was too short for me, felt indecent at the back! They didn't have the plum one I liked in pics so didn't buy but will order both online I think as need before next weekend. Will post links separately as don't want to risk losing this epic rambling.

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 17:32

Karbea brag away! This is MNV Grin

shopafrolic · 20/09/2014 17:40

OMG I've found a perfect babysitter who will charge just £5 p.h. I may have a social life again! :)
I have spent the afternoon at a model railway enthusiasts exhibition. DS has found his spiritual home. Hmm. I, on the other hand, have not. geek alert

Mara and all other mums with small children and DHs who work away/long hours. I remember it so well and you have my sympathy. It's tough. I remember sitting on the bottom step on a number of occasions when they were both kicking off and sobbing Sad thankfully when you think you can't do it any more/are a terrible parent for going berserk they do something incredible that makes it all worth it. Smile

Impromptu dinner with friends after several Wine last night I started inviting people over Grin ..... A massive casserole, loads of garlic bread, apricot tart from M and S, DD is currently making chocolate macaroons yikeswine in fridge Grin

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 17:45

Shop I can see you at the end of the platform at Clapham Junction soon .....in an anorak, with binoculars and note book Grin

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 17:46

Mara that's tough, especially when you expect them to be home. I hope he gets home early as possible tomorrow.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 17:47

Shop £5! I'm envisaging how many hours we could stretch our evenings out at that rate.

QueenCardigan · 20/09/2014 17:52

Oh, karbea sorry if my comment made it seem as if you were bragging. You weren't at all. The 2.55 is my dream bag which is why I'm so envious of anyone that has one Smile.

mara it is relentless alone. When dh initially moved here I was at home in London with a 1 and 3 yo and it was only for a couple of months but it nearly killed me. Hopefully it's not for too much longer is it?

Shopping cures a hangover. Nipped in to take the shoe boots back. Tried on a coat ( not linking in case lurkers buy) which I love except that the collars are quite big. I'm ready for wine again now Grin

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 18:47

Cheers QueenC have just delved into the ST wine club box and found a Chadonay/Voigner about to open it Grin our wine club boxes just stay in the hall until they're empty Grin hardly ever make it to the wine rack Blush

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 18:47

That would be a Chardonay /Voignier combo !

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 18:49

CHARDONNAY!!!!!!

LinusDKD · 20/09/2014 19:00

Ha! I can already imagine shop the trainspotter! Grin

mara (((hugs))) I know what you're going through. DH has missed his connecting flight on a number of occasions and it's not fun having to explain to an already overexcited toddler that daddy is not coming home tonight. Sad

dry I think the whole of France has heard you shout 'Chardonnay' Wink

marsha glad JL have started to redeem themselves with the lovely kitchen guy.

novice your 'softplay outfit' sounds great.

It was such weird weather again today. I started with Jimmies and my MiH yellow breton and ended in H&M seersucker shorts, blue Madewell top and flipflops.

Btw, Madewell is definitely on my NY shopping list. Last time I quickly nipped in to have a look at shop's leopard print flats but this time I'll have a good look at the rest of their stuff.

LinusDKD · 20/09/2014 19:01

Oh and btw dry I am on the Malbed tonight. Red wine for me, no less headaches afterwards.

LinusDKD · 20/09/2014 19:02

Gah, I did a dry! Serves me right for mocking you!

MALBEC !!! (they heard me all the way in Argentina Grin )

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 20:08

Linus Madewell stuff always looks great.

maradesbois · 20/09/2014 21:03

Thanks for all the support Voguettes, you are an understanding bunch Thanks.

These are the dresses I've ordered in navy and in plum. Haven't seen the plum colour irl as they didn't have it in store but really want to try it.

Fedupnagging · 20/09/2014 22:16

Mara Thanks and Wine for you. I know how much hard work it is with a dh away all the time. Dh worked away all week for years and I was home with 3 ds's and no support network. Soft play and toddler groups were my lifeline.

Novice I have to say your outfit sounds v. glamorous for soft play. Is it a competition Grin [ grin]

Fab bag karbea and no! don't think you're bragging.

Went for early doors curry tonight and now sitting in front of our chimnea during wine - my current fave, Viognier.

In true MNV pissed tradition, I luffs you all!

BrandyAlexander · 20/09/2014 22:36

Oh Mara, poor you. Thanks I hope he gets in early tomorrow.

Fedup - now I think it sounds more glam than it was! Definitely no competition!Grin

OneLittleLady · 20/09/2014 22:38

i gained a mich wanted item today since dp decided to buy me a present.no,not clothes, hanbags or even shoes but......an acoustic guitar.i saw it in a shop window, moved on to look in the next window, realised i'd lost dp when i turned round but he'd gone into the first shop to buy the one i'd been looking at without me knowing!!totally unexpected but utterly appreciated, ive needed a new one for ages.Grin Grin

amber i either saw you today or you have a doppelganger!!if it was a doppelganger, its the most convincing one ive seen yet Grin

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 22:42

Are we all tipsy tonight?
linus trying "Malbed" Grin
Fedup is infront of chimnea "during wine"Grin
And it took me 3 tries to spell Chadonnay v nice btw Chablis excellent, just finishing off a Jurançon .... Cuppa next I'm wild! then bed .
Oh, I did share the wine, haven't drunk 3 bottles on my own, honest Wink.

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 22:47

Grin Grin One so lovely that DP surprised you with a MICH wanted guitar.really lovely.
And yes Fedup I luffs you all ESP Mara

Drywhiteplease · 20/09/2014 22:49

One are you stalking Amber? What was she wearing?

Fedupnagging · 20/09/2014 22:54

Yup, am definitely a bit tipsy tonight!

One, that is so lovely. You have a very generous dp Grin

Linus I have a few friends who now drink red wine as it doesn't give them hangovers but despite trying really really hard, can't find a red I really like. I find them all a bit heavy. Maybe need to try a bit harder. New York, how fab. We were there last October.
