There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

Hang on linus I'm being thick???is this weekend your London weekend? Exciting!

Cheers all.

Am developing an embarrassing addiction to E channel Blush

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2014 20:13

Marsha v
Brilliant question.

Mmmmmmm.....thinking......

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2014 20:30

Don't think my style has changed all that much really. My hair was long when I met DH .I'm more toned now but I have a few more wrinkles. I've always been a safe dresser with a nod to trends. By the time I met DH I was pretty sorted style wise, although I was wearing the most horrendous outfit when we met at a party.Sad

Blimey Sleep your bust must have been phenomenal bcs !

shopafrolic · 05/09/2014 20:32

Evening all. My hair was shoulder length when I met DH. I chopped it off after we got married (I knew short hair suited me as I had it short all the way through my teens and twenties).
GAP order has just arrived - I only placed it yesterday. Impressive.
Marsha get your combusting on and claim your vouchers. Night out sounds brill. I'm psyching myself up for the wedding marathon!

Shop what are you wearing ? That great dress of course, different crowd - same dress for both?

Dry now you'll have to describe the outfit!

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2014 20:41

Marsha I was going through a vintage phase....I looked like an extra on Downton Abbey, but not one off the aristos....more like one of the servants!Grin A grey pinstripe ankle length pinafore dress, lace up ankle boots etc...what a plonker Grin luckily DH just doesn't see clothing phew I quickly reverted to my usual dress style.

shopafrolic · 05/09/2014 20:41

Tomorrow's wedding - fab NCT friends. Laid back, loads of fun and dancing and booze
Jaegar dress and Floretes
Sunday, cousin's wedding. Loads of family I haven't seen for decades Bella and shoes again.
Am hoping that new coat may work but need to check length.

Great outfits Shop . Sounds like a fab weekend. X

santamarianovella · 05/09/2014 20:54

My style changed big time since I met dh, I dressed like I just stepped out a Ralph Lauren ad,Grin

Stokey · 05/09/2014 20:58

Marsha I was a hippy raver when I met Dh, lots of colourful dresses and trainers. I'm definitely smarter these days.

I may be able to do a Xmas night out but am unlikely to be able to commit til nearer the time. So just decide without me and will pop down and meet you all if I can.

Double wedding weekend sounds full on Shop but think it's the right way round, and great dresses.

BrandyAlexander · 05/09/2014 20:59

Shop, your post about your lovely wedding outfits has just reminded me....

I have this jaeger longline belted wool coat. It cost £300 and was a really silly buy for me as I have never worn it. It's size 8 but more like a 10 so big on me. I have never worn it, the tags are still on.Blush Anyway, if anyone would like it then I am happy to pass it on to you (just pay me postage), or I can just give it to you if you're in London. Caveat: Next week is a diary nightmare for me though so it might take a while to get your hands on it!

libertychick · 05/09/2014 21:15

Hope you have a great weekend Shop. Great outfits.

When I met DH I was wearing an ankle length denim skirt made up of a patchwork effect of different shade of denim in a very fitted style with a fishtail hem!! With a black top with a green beaded design, fitted black jacket and lace up ankle boots. Loved that outfit! My style always tended to be dictated by my weight a bit - when I'm feeling slim I would be quite adventurous and a bit grunge lit too but when overweight I would revert to jeans and baggy tops.

In my 30's as jobs became more serious I started looking a bit more corporate. TBH I only really took a proper interest in fashion in the last 4-5 years. I genuinely hadn't a clue about labels or what was in or out in my 20's and early 30's. I lived with 3 very style conscious ladies for 4 years in my 20's and they used to routinely order me back up the stairs to change clothes and 'put a bit of make up on FFS' on Saturday night - I was perfectly happy to head out in the jeans and plaid shirt I had been wearing all day!!!

DH find my current obsession a bit disconcerting because it's not the girl he met....

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2014 21:20

Oh liberty I love you! Your meeting DH outfit sounds as impressive as mine!Grin

LinusDKD · 05/09/2014 21:25

Lol liberty and dry!

I wore a light pink polo shirt (collar turned up Wink ) and dark grey linen trousers when I met DH. I might have even worn a pearl necklace.....

LinusDKD · 05/09/2014 21:26

Lovely coat btw novice but I would look like a Hobbit wearing Gandalf's robe in that.

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2014 21:26

Ha love these outfits!

I think I was wearing a Miu Miu check shirt and Cheap Monday grey jeans. The shirt was the first time I shopped in Selfridges and I remember the rush, I still have it in my wardrobe.

libertychick · 05/09/2014 21:28

Well you know Dry if they fancy you looking that random you are on to a good thing Wink. Thanks for the impulsive shopping hand hold earlier too BTW.

BrandyAlexander · 05/09/2014 21:31

Oh I was wearing a baseball tee and ck jeans when dh and I got together! We were at a bar. I still have the outfit as I keep it for sentimental reasons. We took a photo that night too.Smile

LinusGrinGrinGrinGrin I snorted! it was such an idiotic buy! It's like twice the length of me!

BrandyAlexander · 05/09/2014 21:32

Sorry meant to add feel free to pm me for the coat!

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2014 21:39

I was wearing a denim mini, opaques, black lace up boots, a black smashing pumpkins tee and a black duffle coat when I met Dp

OneLittleLady · 05/09/2014 21:41

I love that coat novice but it would be too small for me right now! I must do something about my arms....I have wings Blush

Drywhiteplease · 05/09/2014 21:43

linus great outfit....oh yes! the turned up collar on the polo shirt.....see many women round here dressed like that.

Btw boast coming up DD at dinner DH was out told me that one of her male friends thought I was "fit"!!! I have a 13 yr old fan! Is this a compliment or weird? Infact "fit" wasn't the term she muttered under her breath DS snorted and when it was clear I understood the abbreviations rather crude, but I'll take it as a compliment they were both shocked "how do you know what that means Mum?" I HAVE lived, I'm not an old granny you know, I do have a life kids, sometimes I have SEX

santamarianovella · 05/09/2014 21:45

I was wearing v neck sweater, striped shirt, and jeans , and tods flats, of course I thought I looked stylish, but dh says he doesn't even remember meeting me that day Hmm ,and only remembers seeing me on another occasion,
When I asked him what was his first impression was he said : honestly I thought that girl has a lot of hair on her head for a tiny person Grin

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2014 21:53

Santa that is hilarious Grin

Dry good one!

Liberty I missed your impulse buys [sob] and can't see them when I scroll back ,what did you get?

MarshaBrady · 05/09/2014 21:53

That's a lovely coat Novice but I can't do long ones either.
