I went to the TCentre the other day and went in various different shops, but i was surrounded by cropped length tops and really short shorts and skirts.
I like the looks of the stuff on the hangers but I wouldn't get away with a cropped top, even layered.
I decided that i am too old for H&M and DP but not old enough for M&S, I would like to look stylish but I really have no idea where to look!

I am 5ft 9 and size 12/14

Thanks oh wise MN'ers :)

Im couple of years younger but not by much. I shop in new look, h and m, very catalogue, ax paris, boohoo, ebay etc.

Tiredgal12 · 16/08/2014 15:01

I'm most happy in ted baker, french connection, lk bennett, reiss and always venture in primark for a bargain!

YokoUhOh · 16/08/2014 15:03

I'm 33. Usually ASOS, Debenhams, H&M.

YokoUhOh · 16/08/2014 15:04

Oliver Bonas is nice for dresses, and Yumi.

LoadsaBlusher · 16/08/2014 15:04

River Island ,Boohoo.com,New Look and EBay
Some things from Tesco ,the odd little top or skinny jeans for running about with the kids

RiojaHaze · 16/08/2014 15:07

I'm 33 and I shop anywhere I see things I like!

For work I mainly wear Next and New Look.
I get everything else from Oasis, River Island, H&M, asos and DP.

I also have a few staple things I got from M&S who do great jeggings and the odd top.

I love looking in urban outfitters, all saints, miss selfridge and just don't pigeon hole myself to just certain places.

m0therofdragons · 16/08/2014 15:11

Fat face, white stuff and joules - but only sales or outlet centre.

SunshineOutdoors · 16/08/2014 15:13

Brands I like include Gap, H and M, Tommy Hilfiger, some Topshop stuff but have to be selective.

Mrsgrumble · 16/08/2014 15:14

36

I go to new look, H&m

For some work clothes (easily ruined) tesco

Mainly oasis for tops - love them

Dresses from Hobbs. Bought two cape style cardis from jogsaw and m&s recently

SunshineOutdoors · 16/08/2014 15:14

Zara nice too.

BoiledPiss · 16/08/2014 15:15

Wow thankyou for the replies, I always forget about River Island!

Rioja I am the same, I look everywhere and buy what I like from where it is sold, but I just felt like I was looking around a teenagers wardrobe when I went to all my normal haunts!

So are you all wearing cropped tops as you type? Grin

Ooh Oasis, another one I always forget!

RiojaHaze · 16/08/2014 15:17

I don't have a crop too but plenty of my friends with flatter tummies than me wear them with high waisted skirts or trousers, they can look really classy!

H&M have got some really nice stuff in at the moment, as have Oasis and RI especially.
What sort of things are you in need of? Work?

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 16/08/2014 15:18

I am 35, and shop mainly in H&M, Zara, River Island, Topshop.

vintagenurse · 16/08/2014 15:23

I am 34 and get most stuff from New Look or Primark. I really really like Warehouse and Oasis, but only when funds allow. Get odd bits from George, Tesco, DP.

ThePerfectNegroni · 16/08/2014 15:25

Oasis, banana republic, some top shop and M&S.

gaggiagirl · 16/08/2014 15:29

H&M, new look and primark. I don't look great or put together, mainly scruffy so maybe I am looking in the wrong places.
I never know what to wear or how to wear it and feel ridiculous in everything so I'm watching with interest.

BoiledPiss · 16/08/2014 15:30

I have recently lost some weight and toned up a little, i just need every day clothes really, work is sorted.

I live in jeans and a vest currently!

Mrsgrumble · 16/08/2014 15:33

gaggia I'm no style guru t if you get a base colour you like (I love navy) you can work around it. I have navy and white tops etc and a navy wrap that I chuck over it if I go out etc. you don't need much. I also have a navy blazer and scarves. Maybe you might like brown or black and go from there.

Buy a decent coat and jacket for winter, wear earrings, scarves. I used to feel like you but not so much anymore.

beccajoh · 16/08/2014 15:36

H&M, Topshop, New Look, Dorothy Perkins. All online though. The selection in the shops is crap.

gaggiagirl · 16/08/2014 15:47

Thank you mrsgrumble I wear a lot of faded bobbly black but I like navy a lot.

Thats really good advice re coat and scarves I think I would feel a bit better in a decent coat. I'll check some out this week.

Fruityb · 16/08/2014 15:48

New Look, though only really the tall range, Next, but not the mumsy bits, Sainsburys, see previous comment, Tesco, Primary for T shirts and plain tops and scarves, Boohoo, once you can avoid the polyester! Oh and sports direct at times. I also make a few things. I live in plain tops and cardis but will jazz them up with scarves or necklaces.

I'm 32 and 5 ft 8 but got quite the curvy booty and hips. I'm a 16 bottom as can't get smaller over my bump, but my waist is smaller so always need a belt. I have moved onto accessories from a base like Mrsgrumble said. I have a constant supply of white t shirts! I would never be able to wear crop tops or leggings as trousers, I've had this booty since I was 14 lol.

I feel like an inbetweenie. Not old enough for this but too old for this! Ebay is a good place to go as well.

Wherediparkmybroom · 16/08/2014 15:49

House of Fraser, Christian Loboutin, chanel, Dior plus charity shops, I like nice things but I love a bargain!

Fruityb · 16/08/2014 15:49

Oh and I bought a black blazer with 3/4 sleeves that has turned back cuffs on and I love that. Goes with all sorts. Funky but age appropriate!

Fairylea · 16/08/2014 15:50

I'm nearly 34 and I shop everywhere! I'm surprised you think dorothy perking is too young. I love lots of things from there.

I also love primark, asos, new look and also yours which is from size 14. (I'm size 16 and 5ft 7). I particularly like their dresses because they are still very trendy but are usually a bit longer which is quite flattering.

Online I have a browse on boden quite a lot and mistral sometimes. I rarely buy though. Too expensive for me..... !
