I went to the TCentre the other day and went in various different shops, but i was surrounded by cropped length tops and really short shorts and skirts.
I like the looks of the stuff on the hangers but I wouldn't get away with a cropped top, even layered.
I decided that i am too old for H&M and DP but not old enough for M&S, I would like to look stylish but I really have no idea where to look!

I am 5ft 9 and size 12/14

Thanks oh wise MN'ers :)

samesh: If I'm not sure they'll fit, I don't buy things that are too expensive (so I can just chuck them straight in the charity bag with relatively good conscience - that happens extremely rarely), but, generally, I can tell from the brand, material and shape. A 14 fits most of the time. 16 in H&M and Primark.

A couple of times items didn't arrive, but always got money back. Very happy with ebay - have bought tons of stuff for myself and DS. Selling, however, is only worth the hassle for good quality brands and current trend items, so I don't do it very much.

Also worth keeping in mind that vintage items over 15 years old are usually smaller in size than today's 14s.. That's caught me out once or twice.

I tend to shop in Sainsburys, Tescos, George, M&S (but am choosy about what!), bravissimo, MandCo (again pick carefully!) and for posh dresses Curvety.

Gap, Joules, house of Fraser, asos, sainsburys and have some work dresses from boden/laura ashley sales.
