It may be sunny but for some the next seasons are the best for fashion so here is a thread to start planning.

Today I bought some patterned tights in New Look that were on sale and I have seen quite a few things I want for the next season.

Well not that i go in for fashion much tbh...but what is in fashion for Autumn winter? Whats hot and whats not? Anyone know???

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/08/2014 17:37

No idea what's hot and not, but I have so far bought some new black skinnies and more Converse!

Lottapianos · 02/08/2014 17:39

Marking place. No idea what's in fashion this Autumn. All I'm planning to definitely buy is more New Look skinnies and long sleeve tops from Primark. Maybe a pair of brown brogues. Will be watching for tips!

Greengardenpixie · 02/08/2014 17:52

I love brogues :) I have three pairs though!! Clarks hamble oak [2 pairs] and a gorgeous pair that i got in the AW winter sale at white stuff. Not worn them yet!

I know I want a

Damn posted too early. I want a new leather handbag. It must be one that can go over my shoulder (not cross body) be lined, not be a tote and be big enough to fit nappies wipes etc in. I want it in a dark HoC winter shade, so something like damson, dark green, dark blue (but not navy). It must also have silver hardware not gold. Budget £150ish. Of course this magic bag doesn't exist.

I also want a winter wool coat and a day dress or two.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/08/2014 17:58

Oh and a grey, navy or black biker jacket.

Cataline · 02/08/2014 18:05

I'd like some brogues too pixie. I've never had a pair (apart from when I was around 12 as my school shoes!Blush) so I'm not quite sure how I'd wear them. I'd also like a large roomy autumnal handbag negroni and some versatile day dresses would not go amiss!

Lottapianos · 02/08/2014 18:06

Green, what do you wear your Hamble Oaks with? I love the new dark green pair but I'm not sure what you're supposed to wear them with.

Greengardenpixie · 02/08/2014 18:10

I wear them with wide leg trousers. I think they look classy. I also wear with dresses [above the knee or knee length] and skirts. They are really comfy. I think they look good with everything except with a dress that is calf length or skirt at this length. Very nice with an A-line mini!! or short skirt.

They are great with most things!!

butterfliesinmytummy · 02/08/2014 18:22

I have brown leather brogues that were from the m&s boys department (bargain as no VAT). I wear them in between seasons with ripped and rolled jeans or rolled blue chinos from Gap and will wear them this winter with long wide legged tweedy trousers and a silky top or very fine knit.

Suddengeekgirl · 02/08/2014 18:37

Marking place as I need to replace a LOT of my Autumn/ Winter stuff! Blush

Brogue lovers - do you wear socks with them? Confused I really fancy a pair but don't do shoes with no socks.

Lottapianos · 02/08/2014 18:40

Oh yes I would have to wear socks or tights with them. Thanks for the Pinterest link Green

Charitygirl1 · 02/08/2014 19:29

Have been wearing brogues for years but hoping these will be my A/W14 pair

I tend to wear then with tights and tube dresses. Not ever really got into shoes without socks, although love the look on other people.

Charitygirl1 · 02/08/2014 19:31

PS I think brogues look great with midi skirts. A-line midi + brogues = funky vintage librarian. I wear a bodycon tube midis with brogues and it takes away some of the 'sexiness' of the dress.

Greengardenpixie · 02/08/2014 19:54

Funky librarian...mmm..... I am 46 and would look like a dowdy librarian tbh unless of course they were in themselves a funky design or colour :)

Madaboutthrows · 02/08/2014 20:22

TK Maxx have some nice Kew 159 tweedy things in at the moment. I think they have jackets, skirts and waist coats. Think th

Lol green I know - I'm 36 and well aware I'm on the cusp...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/08/2014 21:48

Not fond of brogues, personally. Hard to wear with skirts unless you are v coltish of leg, and because I have very short hair, can tend to look too mannish with trousers.

CointreauVersial · 02/08/2014 23:03

Not a brogue fan either.

I'm after some everyday flat boots, probably ankle ones....not really sure what style I'm after. Or what colour.

I'm not buying any more clothes until I've lost the holiday podge.

DoloresGove · 03/08/2014 07:43

Remus what Converse did you get? I just treated myself to a white pair after several pairs of less conventional colours...

I'm after DMs-but-not. Army-ish, lace up ankle boots but not quite as clumpy as DMs and preferably brown.

CambridgeBlue · 03/08/2014 07:51

I wore my brogues without socks last year and they ripped my feet to bits - be warned!

Must admit I am looking forward to A/W clothes - love summer but cold weather clothes suit me much better.
