Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Those colours are gorgeous.

MrsMcGregor · 05/08/2014 15:49

Hi Ladies, hope you don't mind me butting in. Just wondering whether anyone has, or has tried on, these R&B sandals? If so, are they a very narrow fit .... I want something wider fitting. Any alternative suggestions would be much appreciated - although toe posts are a no-no.

Shop, so sorry about your dog. It's awful, just awful when a pet dies. We lost our dog at 14 yrs old and we all cried for days. The children speak fondly off her and still cry a few years down the line. I'm sure you'll find the right words for your DS.

libertychick · 05/08/2014 15:55

Hello MrsMcGregor. I tried the toe post version of those sandals and they were a good fit, I have a wide-ish foot, not huge but not comfy in very narrow shoes. No suggestions sorry as I have completely failed to find sandals this summer!

libertychick · 05/08/2014 15:58

Then again width on a toe post type sandals isn't really an issue is it?! . Ignore my ultimately completely unhelpful post anything to avoid work Grin

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 16:06

Linus Thanks that is a great sweater. Will ponder.

Went shopping this morning and picked up one watch, the Gucci is still be looked at. Popped into GAP and did the sheep thing and bought the dark wash sexy boyfriend shorts (but for some reason paid £5 more than if I'd bought them online Angry ) and a dark slate grey ribbed v neck short sleeved knit which I can't find on their website 100% cotton and quite slouchy with shorts and Jalouse.

So I have told DS - thanks for the ideas all. I took him to Whipsnade Tree Cathedral and walked along talking about how Shopdog would have loved it there. And then pretty much did as Dry suggested. Told him that while we were on holiday she got ill again but the medicine didn't work this time and that she died. And that she is with our other dog playing with the angels.
He asked me why she didn't get better, and then said he was said because Shopdog1 and Shopdog2 were his friends. He then asked if we could go home and play trains. :)

MrsMcGregor · 05/08/2014 16:11

Grin. Width aside, are they nice in the flesh Liberty? I'm in desperate need of sandals for holiday and everything is sold out. My own fault!

libertychick · 05/08/2014 16:12

Ah well done Shop, sounds like you handled it really well. He'll probably ask follow up questions at random moments over the next few days. DD mulls all sorts of things over in her head while playing with trains.

And wow, that place is lovely!

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 16:14

Welcome MrsMcGregor and thanks for the kind words. We had already lost our elderly lab at the beginning of the year so to lose her at less than 5 years old has been a huge shock.
Not sure on those sandals but returns look to be free so you'd only lose £5 delivery to try them?

libertychick · 05/08/2014 16:14

They are v nice MrsMcGregor but I thought they were a bit flimsy feeling for the price - but then I am an absolute tightwad when it comes to shoes. I am fairly sure Decam had them and liked them.

LinusDKD · 05/08/2014 16:22

Sorry liberty another link you might like:

skirt

I saw this today in my local H&M and it looked lovely. I couldn't try it on as DS was with me but I can see me wearing this with a black poloneck ls tee or a black ls scoopneck. Bit like Audrey Hepburn.

I asked the staff as well whether they were going to sell the teal crinkle skirt and you would have thought I had asked her to explain the relativity theory to me, such was the baffled look on her face.

MrsMcGregor · 05/08/2014 16:26

Thank you both. Have ordered to try on. Along with 3 swimsuits. And need to find a few tops this evening. And heels. Eek. Best hide the postman/courier from DH.

Children are remarkably resilient Shop but will then get upset at the most unexpected times! Even worse that you lost your other dog so recently and that she was so young. If you don't mind me asking, had she been unwell?

Stokey · 05/08/2014 16:28

Aww sounds like it went well with DS Shop

DD1 got a bit obsessed with death after her grandad died a year and a half ago. It took quite a callous turn - Mummy, when you die can I have your jewellery/that dress you're wearing etc!

Is the Boden website a bit rubbish or is it just me? I don't seem to be able to search by size, particularly annoying when looking in the clearance bit.

libertychick · 05/08/2014 16:36

You could be my personal shopper Linus - I love that skirt.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 17:28

Linus has a fab eye for everyone's style. It is very rare that I don't buy or lust after what she links for me! I meant to say Lib I loved your scarf choice for me too. Thanks
MrsM Shopdog1 died of old age in Jan. Shopdog2 was 4 and a bit, she has been poorly on and off for 3 weeks or so - we think she inhaled a grass seed which has migrated and ended up in her spine causing paralysis. Started with her going off her food, losing weight, lethargic and a high white blood cell count, and ended with paralysis of hind legs. :(

MrsMcGregor · 05/08/2014 18:05

Oh Shop, that really is dreadful. Such bad luck and your poor dog. She should have had many years of bounding around ahead Sad.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 18:11

cute vintage style dresses and skirts.
Thought of One - they have net skirts too....... The zebra skirt is quite cool.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 18:38

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/08/2014 19:20

shop I opened your Gap link and first thought "no", but then I realised that although they aren't me, I can actually really see you in them! Clearly I need to become more like Linus and learn to see other people's style when I'm looking at things. Wink Blush Hope that makes sense.

Good haul Amber, I have been wondering what the Ridleys are like so will await your report. The leather trousers are a proper bargain.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 19:29

Can see you in all of that Amber love the leather trousers and the cami especially.
Blair I think I need to see them IRL - they weren't in the store I was in today. It'll either be love or extreme hate!

shopafrolic · 05/08/2014 19:30

I also think they will come up short on me as they don't do a longer length.

LinusDKD · 05/08/2014 19:31

Thanks shop that's so nice of you to say that! It does help that I have met you and other MNVoguettes IRL.

Btw, those Gap trousers are so you! I love them.

Impressive shopping amber. And please yes, report back on the Ridleys.
