Those flats look lovely!

Lovely outfit Marsha.

Right must get on, dd has a birthday party this morning.Hmm

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 09:38

I say I won't have time for Gap, but will be lounging around in the sun choosing between Bloody Mary or champers. So not so busy Grin

Novice happy birthday to your dd. Hope party is good, sure it will be.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 09:39

Retract! I just realised it's probably not your dd's

shopafrolic · 04/05/2014 10:22

I am so Envy Marsha I haven't had a drink for a month now (not through choice). Those of you that know me will understand just how serious that statement is!

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 10:27

Oh Shop I am worried about you, being unwell for so long. Will pm

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/05/2014 10:43

Have you been to the doc yet shop? It's so awful that you've felt like this for so long - hope you shake it soon and can get back to enjoying life.
Dry - I'm also Envy at your weekend. I know I had my lovely day in London last week, but being London- born & bred I do miss it. Hoping my weekend picks up - yesterday I was on racing duty and both runners were naughty. I won't go into the details, but one was very naughty and I was summoned before the stewards for the first time in my 25 years in the industry Blush.
Has anyone seen the M&S insert in You mag today? There's a pic of a dress in p4 which looks just like my Tory Burch floral dress but for £45. Angry Honestly - I can't see much difference.

Fedupnagging · 04/05/2014 10:52

Like the sound of your outfit Marsha and love the colour of those flats Linus.

Hope your dc's enjoy the theatre Novice - and you find something to wear!

We dh did lots of work in the garden yesterday. I disappeared on MNV for 5 mins then found that dh has virtually decimated my ivy. Sad. Hope it grows back.

Am currently pondering what to wear to a 50th bbq this afternoon. It's a gorgeous day but can get chilly so am thinking layers. Boden 7/8 in silver grey with navy silk t and navy pointy sling backs with my favourite Ichi oversize baby blue cardigan with batwing sleeves.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 11:03

Fedup dh did exactly that the other day, I was Shock. He's so cavalier.

Too hot for skinnies! Two espressos, not sure I will switch to a drink. Ponder a bit longer.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 11:04

Oh Grumpy difficult, but must admit sounds interesting.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 11:48

Short but very sweet. No alcohol, relaxed enough and hot - didn't want to get a headache. Got to pick up dc, best to keep on good side of time-generous GPs.

Secretsquirrel13 · 04/05/2014 11:53

Fed up my dh did that over Easter I turned my back for ten mins and 2 trees completely annihilated Grin I still haven't stopped going on about it apparently.

Secretsquirrel13 · 04/05/2014 11:57

Fedup for our BBQ this afternoon I am wearing maison scotch Parisiennes, nude sam edelman Felicia ballet flats, cream thermal vest and off white zara lace high neck top. I have a charcoal boden cropped cashmere cardigan handy for when it gets cooler and if that's not enough I will put a jacket on. I also have a range of sweaters and fleeces to hand out to other cold guests.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 13:31

We need to book our summer holiday. Any ideas on

  • villa, near places to eat,
  • private pool
  • any country as long as it's warm, of course!

Would love to know if you have any recommendations, please pm me don't want it to get booked up (if not already!)

libertychick · 04/05/2014 16:15

Marsha we loved Fuerteventura and have booked it again for December. I'll ask DH later as he has booked a villa with a private pool in centre of corralejo. I'll pm details of the place we have booked later. Car would be handy as there are some amazing beaches but they are only between 10 and 20 mins away so you could do taxis or just hire a car for one day.

Shopping there is rubbish! But lots of nice bars/restaurants.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 16:46

Thanks Liberty that would be brilliant. I don't need any shopping whatsoever! Just beaches, sunshine and food Smile

Annianni · 04/05/2014 16:51

I went to fuerteventura years ago, it was lovely and quiet. No shops but I got a great tan.

OneLittleLady · 04/05/2014 18:15

Apparently, we are going to florida next year so I better get my passport sent off for!

No real fashion news, today's outfit is black opaques (sunny but cold here today) a pink, 50's full style skirt, grey vest tucked into the skirt and black short sleeve cropped cardigan.

I desperately need some proper recording equipment and software such as microphones, mini mixing desk and computer software but it's so so expensive. will have to start saving up to get somethings together as I have a number of friends who are interested in doing some work with me if we can get the goods together Smile

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 20:44

Anni sounds good to me.

BrandyAlexander · 04/05/2014 21:07

Hi Marsha, no not dd's birthday today, we were just dropping her off at someone else's party. We are doing a party this month so will be frantically sorting things out over the next week!

Some holiday recommendations. These are the ones we have have had villas:

Greece - we went to Porto Sani a couple of years ago and loved that. It wasn't a formal villa but family suite which was basically same thing. No private pool.

Cyprus - Aphrodites Hills. Absolutely love it there. It has a spa and golf plus fitness centre. We would put the kids into the kids club for a couple of hours in the morning, then if would go to gym and spa and dh golf (which takes a lot longer than 2 hours!Hmm). We had private pool there so would lark about there for hours.

Portugal - Monte da Quinta. We had a villa here and absolutely loved it.

Other beach holiday places I love in Europe (mostly the Greek Islands!)

Kefalonia - I love the sea here. So beautiful. Same with Xante. I think in Kefalonia we stayed in a hotel called the White Hotel.

Also love Crete - there are some gorgeous places there.

I haven't been to Fuerteventura but one of the other Canaries, Puerta del Carmen. Nice but v windy and not beachy.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 21:14

Oh fabulous! Thanks Novice will get on it tomorrow.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/05/2014 21:36

Just adding my two penn'orth - don't bother with Praia de Luz or Lagos in Portugal. We ended up in PdL last summer after being let down on a villa in Lagos a few weeks before we were due to go. The villa was lovely, although we paid over £4k for 9 days and got turfed out early on the last day as they'd got an extra last-minute booking to start on the final day of our holiday. The town was distinctly average - the best thing I could say about it was that it's quiet, but that also meant it was fairly boring and lacking atmosphere - just lots of zombie British holiday makers walking aimlessly around. There was only one place where we ate which was better than satisfactory and they did do delicious cocktails. Visits to Lagos were disappointing. I don't know what I expected, but nondescript cafés serving identical menus and shops crammed with tourist-tat and stuff that would have been better off on a market stall was what we got. DH & I agreed it was the worst, most expensive holiday we've ever had.
As far as recommendations, my DSis & DBro went to Santorini with their respective partners and loved it. DSis also loved Marrakech which was vibrant and interesting and not boring like Praia de Luz.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2014 21:47

Thanks Grumpy, how annoying but good to know. Such a minefield. My mind starts swimming when I start going through villas. Just so many options.

Drywhiteplease · 04/05/2014 22:03
