I have these Ash ones and I love them. Even if they are a one season hit, I expect to get plenty of wear out of them. They are leather lined so hopefully won't be too sweaty Hmm. They get lots of compliments and are very comfy, sorry!

Myclosetisbiggerthanyours · 02/04/2014 18:51

What if you have small feet? I like Kat's and I've seen them on AWO too. I think they are cool.

MargotLovedTom · 02/04/2014 18:58

They're bumpers!

And Journey sang "Don't Stop Believing", not Foreigner (music pedant).

TheJumped · 02/04/2014 19:32

Re calling them 'skate shoes' rather than 'slip-ons' - I always think that about 'skinny jeans'. If they were just called 'tight jeans' would they be as popular?

My 2yo pointed at my shiny new brogues today and said 'daddy shoes' I said no they're mummy's but he was quite adamant Sad

Kudzugirl · 02/04/2014 19:33

Did I write something else? Blush Apologies Margot. I should know better seeing as I was well grown when it was first released Grin

ParkingFred · 02/04/2014 19:41

I agree, and they look ridiculous on anyone over 25.

My 15 year old and his mates wear them, I can just imagine his face if I bought some too.

Twinklestein · 02/04/2014 19:41

Agreed Jumped, they're Van knock offs that have been rebranded for mums. I did Vans slip ons in 1984, they were galumphing and smelt of rubber. By the time mums catch on skaterz will have ditched them long since.

Drainpipes was the old word for skinny jeans...

AmberNectarine · 02/04/2014 20:30

Ah whevs, theyse comfy and I like em.

SecretSquirrel13 · 02/04/2014 20:36

Started this thread thinking it was about skater shoes and ended wondering why I've never been approached to receive freebies. Must contribute more to MNV!
Saw a nice pair on a school mum that were ponyskin, black I think, looked comfy and cool (for round here).

AnnabelleDarling · 02/04/2014 20:40

The ones on the high street are copies of Celine who did them last year. Phoebe Philo does not design for mums Shock Wink

LordPalmerston · 02/04/2014 20:40

FrugalFashionista · 02/04/2014 20:48

Phoebe Philo is a mum Wink and if you ask me her major contribution to fashion is comfy but high status dressing...

MarshaBrady · 02/04/2014 20:50

PP is a brilliant designer. Can't go wrong there.

shopafrolic · 02/04/2014 20:56

But don't expect freebies Secret - you'll be sadly disappointed :)

SecretSquirrel13 · 02/04/2014 21:07
Grin
Mandy2003 · 02/04/2014 21:21

DDad who's 87 admired the beige suede Vans DS was wearing. So I bought him some too Grin

Mignonette · 02/04/2014 23:14

Loads of 'comfy' fashion designers - Dries for one. I would say too that everyday Donna Karan is all about the comfort as is a lot of Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. That American sportswear aesthetic is definitely about super luxe fabrics, easy classic shapes and ease of wear.
