Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from part 1 here and part 2 here

Do you want to know more about what a winter is? These resources are good places to start here and here.

Scared to try bright lipstick? Previous winter favourite makeup items include Mac Plumful, Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie and Red Velvet and Revlon gloss in Bordeaux. They are all good places to start without being scarily bright for a newly diagnosed winter. More makeup tips can be found here and by reading through previous threads.

Nice dresses Sorrel and Carrie.

This thread is dangerous - I've ordered a Hush fuschia shirt and a navy dress. I was considering the teal one but wasn't sure if the colour was right and no free returns.

QueenCardigan · 23/07/2014 14:49

I love all this colour and style chat. Great purchases ladies.

sorrell are you ever planning on doing the advanced style class with hopefully? If so, we should plan to go together.

QueenCardigan · 23/07/2014 14:52

Here's my IN board that I started after I'd been diagnosed to give you an idea. Here's my sprinter einter board.

carrie74 · 23/07/2014 14:52

Hmm, still thinking about the fuschia. I don't really want or need another maxi - they annoy me when it's hot. But I suppose for this price I could buy and chop it off at the knee...

Lovely dresses Sorrel & Stokey.

carrie74 · 23/07/2014 15:02

That didn't take much convincing - purchased!

Stokey · 23/07/2014 15:15

well done Carrie

I love a couple of the greys on your IN board QueenC, gorgeous RL dress.

fooogle · 23/07/2014 15:24

Like that hush navy dress stokey, looks a bit see through at the back, will you wear a 'slip' (sounds v old fashioned!) under it? Am tempted myself, know what you mean about the teal. Hard to tell. You winters are on a roll today!

Stokey · 23/07/2014 16:06

Gosh I hadn't noticed Foogle but now you point it out I can see her knickers. Hmmm

I had been thinking it would be a good summer dress for work/play transition but now am thinking it may just be a holiday throw on over a bikini. I don't own a slip!

fooogle · 23/07/2014 16:11

Would be excellent for that Grin. I sadly invested in a 'slip' item when I bought some dresses and realized my knicks were a little too present... Very unattractive item to have in ones wardrobe, though better than being the flasher at work! ...

SorrelForbes · 23/07/2014 16:22

QueenCardigan Advanced Style Day you say? Why did I not know about this? Can we fit it in before I move in August?!

Your IN board has a lot of pics of clothes similar to the ones I was leaning towards before my SD (and not managing to pull off at all).

QueenCardigan · 23/07/2014 17:19

I used to keep my actual wardrobe board private but I've just made it public so you can all see it. This is the stuff I actually own here.

sorrell I just remember her mentioning it to me at my style day last September. I'd love to do it but now she's moved it's a bit of a trek from me. Not sure if I can fit it in before august but I'll email hopefully and ask her about it.

QueenCardigan · 23/07/2014 17:22

Here it is sorrell style and colour development.

ItHasANiceRingWhenYouLaugh · 23/07/2014 17:33

I like the idea of an advanced style day, also the accessorising Workshop.

I have accidentally power-dressed for the school run a few times now. I just like playing with the clothes now!

SorrelForbes · 23/07/2014 21:08

Loads of people following my Pinterest board now but I'm struggling to work out who is who Blush.

Someone re-pinned the Erin Cox necklace. I actually received that (with a white pearl) as a gift last weekend. I haven't taken it off yet!

SorrelForbes · 23/07/2014 21:11

That class looks great QueenCardigan I'm definitely interested. It's about a 25 minute drive from me atm but after the 11th Aug it'll be 2.5 hrs away! I'll be close to TravellingInColour then Grin

QueenCardigan · 23/07/2014 22:22

sorrell I've emailed her but doubt we can do it before then. We probably have a fair few lurkers who will now be following you on pin.

SorrelForbes · 23/07/2014 22:40

A Jewel Winter Dramatic Gamine is following my board. I'm jealous. That's what I wanted to be!

ItHasANiceRingWhenYouLaugh · 24/07/2014 09:22

Sorrel, that's me. Shh. Grin

SorrelForbes · 24/07/2014 10:19

Mum's the word Wink.

It's interesting though, I can very clearly see how much better I look when I'm following my style guidelines. I'm getting compliments and comments about my appearance and outfits on a daily basis which is so nice (and a new thing for me!). So as much as I'm drawn towards the gamine type clothing I shall stay clear!

pinkflaming0 · 24/07/2014 11:34

I'm following your pinterest board Sorrel

Seems the colour magenta may be 'in' this autumn if Boden and LTS are anything to go by. Sadly LTS is usually frumpsville and too big. There is a raspberry batwing top I like the look of but it's marled which doesn't sound particularly clear but maybe as a burnished it would be OK.

SorrelForbes · 24/07/2014 16:09

I've just been into town and found myself drifting into Next. The new season stuff is mostly orange and cream. Not for the likes of us then!

Magenta I can do. Which Boden pieces do you like pinkflaming0

SorrelForbes · 24/07/2014 21:32

Just ordered this dress from Crew Clothing. It's going to be lovely or vile, not sure which but it's navy, a good price and has sleeves.

The lovely Louisa top appears to be in stock in their sale section too. It's very roomy, I've got a 10 and have big norks.

Their stuff is a bit bland for me but occasionally they come up trumps. The men's stuff is generally much better. DH is a big fan of their shirts and polos.

Used a 10% code too - VCUKCREW22

fooogle · 25/07/2014 07:08

Any good opi colours winter folk use on their fingers? Having a rare manicure today and debating what to go for... Good ice colours or...? Don't normally do fingernails as they just get trashed by life with two kids Grin

MissScatterbrain · 25/07/2014 07:27

Love that Lousia top and its a great price.

I have a lovely ice pink nude nail polish -this one

SorrelForbes · 25/07/2014 07:48

I'm a shellac/gellish girl as normal nail polish doesn't last an hour on me (too clumsy). I like Beau and Negligee.
