There are some Love in White 5ml samples on eBay.Alternatively type in Love in white into Fragantica and several similar perfumes come up in the left hand bar.Or Nose may be a possibility.I have just ordered my second set of 6 samples ( including Love in White ) for 10 Euros in their perfume personality profile.

canny1234 · 20/04/2014 17:40

SOTD is Byredo Rose Noir. This is the first sample I have finished and hence a Fb is in order.I sprayed myself rather liberally and the DC's were complaining on the long drive down to relatives.

wiltingfast · 20/04/2014 21:39

Heh heh heh, think of it as educating their nose canny...

Must check out Byredo Rose Noir, seem popular with you all!

SOTD here was Datura Noir which I really like. Am hitting the bottom of the sample bottle, seem to be developing some oriental tendencies.

MrsCocoa · 21/04/2014 12:52

SOTD is 11 Semma by Odin. Freezing cold Easter day has sent me back in search of warmth. This is my fave Nose sample so far: sandalwood/tonka bean/tobacco combo. Comforting and almost medicinal (clove middle note?) but in an airy spicy way.

canny1234 · 21/04/2014 17:17

Started off with my sisters Gucci Flora Mandarin( she has more perfume than me) which is a bit wishy washy.Have just sprayed her and me with Miller Harris's Terre d'Iris and En Passant on each arm.Sis. loved the Miller Harris perfume( but is also a big fan of their candles- burning citron citron last night).

FuzzLightbeard · 21/04/2014 21:05

Back from bank hol weekend away at my folks, mostly been wearing Premier Figuier and Nuit de Tubereuse. I've finally ordered my nose samples and was surprised to see some of them are 5ml, very generous!

FuzzLightbeard · 22/04/2014 19:18

SOTD Tauer's Pentachord White. Very strange this one, interesting almost medicinal opening which eventually morphs into something that reminds me an awful lot of Coty Exclamation. Then it becomes a powdery, gourmande sugary vanilla white chocolate skin scent. I swear there is peach jam in there somewhere too. Weird!

canny1234 · 22/04/2014 20:26

Interesting perfume there Fuzz!Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess today ( have succumbed to all the hype).I wanted a warm scent today as it felt cold and miserable. But its not really me - too much vanilla and honey ( though I do like the coconutty aspect of it).I have a whole gold bottle of it ( the bottle is so tacky) to give to dd who luckily loves it and has lost her perfume bottle. Its a skin scent so she can spray liberally if she wishes.

Hawkshaw · 22/04/2014 21:58

The Pentachords are really odd. I haven't tried White but the other two are seriously weird.

ArsePaste · 23/04/2014 17:14

The Pentachords made me sick to my stomach, and I say that as someone who is a massive fan of Andy Tauer.

Today I'm wearing Marrakech by Aesop, which is a fragranced oil that smells almost identical to vintage Nu by YSL. This has made me EXTREMELY happy, as vintage Nu is one of the finest fragrances ever. The "new" Nu is crappy, so it's good to have it back. I'm going to have to buy a backup, as they're reformulating it very soon.

wiltingfast · 23/04/2014 17:44

I don't get on with Andy I'm afraid Blush and I SO wanted to! Though I do love the classic LADDM.

SOTD Lyn Harris La Rose.

FuzzLightbeard · 23/04/2014 20:00

I've loved every other Tauer but won't be rushing to try the other Pentachords!

My nose samples are here and I also have two extras. They are not 3/5ml as stated in their email though, more like 2ml. Not complaining though as they work out as very reasonable.

SOTD is Juicy Couture.

canny1234 · 23/04/2014 20:11

Science I have your samples thank you!I really like the Iris Nobile Sublime but love the Byredo Bal d' Afrique. It smells so deliciously spicy. Is it a combination of the Vetiver and Marigold?the scent is so unusual and seriously addictive.

Dunwhingin · 23/04/2014 20:18

SOTD is Keihls fig leaf and sage, OMG it is so great, dry woody, the fig lingers a long time, I got three compliments Wink
I only got the sample yesterday, I wish I'd been bad and bought the whole bottle.
on the other hand, their vanilla and cedar is the closest thing to air freshener someone has offered to squirt on me!

my all time fave is Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio, but as DH is dear but not minted a new bottle might have to wait a little while

ScienceRocks · 24/04/2014 09:48

Glad the samples are going well for you, canny. Both of them smelled nice on paper but odd on my skin so I am really pleased they have gone to a good home!

I wore the Parfumes de Rosine Rose d'Ete yesterday, which was lovely but faded quite quickly. Today I am trying the miller Harris jasmine vert. This is very different to how I thought it would be - much deeper and less flowery than I expected - but is none the worse for it. I am intrigued to see how it develops and how long it lasts. Tomorrow I will try Tauer's Une Rose Chypre. All courtesy of canny, thank you so much.

For those liking l'occitane, there is a flash sale on today. Not everything is reduced, but there are fragrances included, including some of the solids, which are good for layering. You can also stack offers (including free delivery) and buy via cashback sites so it works out much more reasonable than buying instore. And you can choose free samples too Smile

FuzzLightbeard · 24/04/2014 10:46

Dunwhingin I love fig scents too, will keep an eye out for Kiehls. I've seen ninfeo mio go for around £20 on evilbay, also try galaxy perfumes as they have lots of unboxed Goutals at good prices. Have you tried Roger & Gallet's Fleur de Figuier at M&S? It's lovely and very reasonable.

Science I'm going to pretend I haven't seen the L'Occitane sale as I've already blown my monthly perfume budget (and was only paid last week!)

SOTD is the first from my Nose samples- Sublime Balkiss from the Different Company. Opens with tart citrus and then a lilac soapyness creeps in, I'm guessing there is ISO e-super in this as I can feel it wafting around me but it smells very light whilst clearing my nasal passages at the same time. It's very fresh and clean, not what I would normally like but it could be a grower.

Stokey · 24/04/2014 11:01

Morning all - Miss Battleaxe thanks for your samples which arrived on Tuesday Thanks. Waiting for a non-work day to try them out, tomorrow hopefully!

SOTD Tauer Maroc pour Elle, I really like the woodiness of it, although think LADDM is my favourite. I like Juicy too Fuzz, was my main perfume for about 2 years before I thought I should branch out.

What do people recommend from L'Occitane?

satintaupe · 24/04/2014 11:22

I can't believe I've just discovered this thread! I must have 25-30 full size bottles of perfume, I will try to list them later.

satintaupe · 24/04/2014 11:37

Jo Malone scents are known for not lasting long, but the ones I have (red roses, English pear and freesia and orange blossom) last for ages on me; I can still smell them at the end of the day. I don't apply much either. I wonder if it's because I apply body moisturiser daily and it sticks to that?

Has anyone tried the wild bluebell one? I haven't, but I like the sound of it. I liked the lilac one (brings back childhood memories) and wish i'd got it now.

ScienceRocks · 24/04/2014 11:40

Hello satin!

Stokey, I love L'Occitane's jasmine and bergamot as well as Rose Aurore, but it depends what you like. I have ordered green tea, delice de fleur and cherry princess, as the solids were less than £5 each (but don't tell Fuzz Wink). Frugal commented a few weeks ago on how high the quality of many of the L'Occitane fragrances are, which is high praise indeed!

canny1234 · 24/04/2014 14:03

Received my second set of Nose samples recommended for me.Sadly no extra samples were included this time!I also ordered a couple of extras - one is Oyedo(by Diptyque) which smells really medicinal and Kilians Rose Oud which I love.

MrsCocoa · 25/04/2014 00:00

Just seen at BeautyMart that Aqua Manda has been revived from 60s/70s thisisbeautymart.com/by-edit/in-scents/aqua-manda-fragrance-purse-spray

canny1234 · 25/04/2014 10:55

Aqua Allegoria Pamplune is SOTD today. Its a really miserable cold murky day here so I needed something uplifting.I've been dashing about since 8am trying to get dc'S to sports camps on time only to come home and find teenager was still in bed and needed to be at a school meeting in 10 minutes time( dh hadn't thought to wake her up).Luckily it was only down the road.Bloody men!

FuzzLightbeard · 25/04/2014 11:14

Started off the day with Keiko Mercheri's Paradise Lost, which I feel would be more suited to warmth and sunshine. My own fault though as I tweaked my nose 'diagnosis' to get some summery samples. Will try again when it warms up a bit!

Now wearing Safari instead, a very evaporated and concentrated oily few drops from the bottom of an old bottle. I'd love to get some more but don't think it will smell the same as these lovely old dregs!

ArsePaste · 25/04/2014 11:22

I have a bottle of Aqua Manda, it's ... nice. There have been lots of complaints that it is nothing like the original (not as orange-y, not nearly as spicy, that kind of thing), but it's a nice little cologne-y type thing. I don't love it, but I've worn it a couple of times. Sounds like I would have liked the original a lot more though. On the upside, it wasn't that expensive, so it's all good.
