The Boden one in burgundy would be gorgeous. Hey Jonnie - an idea for next A/W?

New Look have this Chestnut parka which is a bit lighter than burgundy but nice

Amanda Knox discussion is very interesting indeed.......I just don't get why she needs to be in the limelight, if she's innocent it just seems disrespectful to the family of the murdered girl.

Mignonette · 17/02/2014 23:10

That's an unusual colour - I am liking that too.

I do Hmm at some of Knox's choices but when you get publicists and lawyers stirring the mix you do ultimately end up looking narcissistic.

Yes if Meredith was my daughter I'd be inconsolable about her name and existence becoming the apparent adjunct to the 'real' tragedy of Amanda Knox. Which is how it has been played.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/02/2014 23:55

That's the tragedy mig. Meredith's brother spoke very eloquently about his sister where he expressed a desire to remember his sister as she was, not just a by-product of the Amanda Knox story. The Kercher's lawyer also condemned the 'media circus' and his exasperation that, as the Kercher family had maintained silence throughout the trial, the defence had appeared to both create it and then use it as an excuse for an unfair trial.

It seems the whole thing has been handled very badly but I can't help feeling that had Amanda Knox been less 'girl next door' pretty, feelings towards her may be different. If she looked like a crystal meth user would she elicit the same sympathy?

maradesbois · 17/02/2014 23:55

QueenC poor you and dc, have heard it can take ages to be fully dry at night though. As its clearly a day for poo stories will just share this little snippet, ds (3) has been constipated for 3 days, started vomiting after food as it must have backed up so far inside there was no other way for it to come out. Was really worried last night and took him to docs this am where it all burst out (in toilet). doc said very common for children who've had painful constipation to become 'poo holders' but he eats a good diet with loads of fibre so not sure what else I can really do. Anyway, seems a lot better now so fingers crossed all back to normal. Hoping no accidents at swimming lesson tomorrow, whenever the gym pool is closed due to unforeseen circumstances its usually just that!

Anyway, back to fashion! I really like the pliage spring colours, would quite like the yellow one for holidays, going to France next week to visit family so will check them out as should be a bit cheaper than here. Haven't bought anything since early jan sales so feeling the urge.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 18/02/2014 03:45

I wonder if Taylor Tomasi Hill is pregnant

The whole Amanda Knox thing is very, very strange. I think there definitely is more to the story, but I guess it is one of those things where no one will ever find out. A bit like Madeleine McCann Sad

Drywhiteplease · 18/02/2014 07:40

I think a lot of loo issues with young (and sometimes old) are psychological. I have known many children who, for example, refuse to go to the loo anywhere other than at home, even when in obvious discomfort. If it wasn't poo it would be a fascinating.Grin

Tomorrow is Gucci day!!!!

Annianni · 18/02/2014 08:13

It's Gucci Tuesday!!!

santamarianovella · 18/02/2014 08:18

Very interesting talk about the Knox trial,it reminds me of the Jean Benet case, Amanda knows something, either she knows the killer and hiding it.

mig that link is very interesting, in all honesty , vogue doesn't attract me like it used to, I still have that issue with the new guinea trip loved, also, still have the one where they went on the trans Siberian railway, one of my all time fav, beautiful scenery. And loved how it was a travel journal, and fashion tutorial at the same time It's this kind of things that I miss most, now it's seems that they lost their way, and just concentrate on what Duma is wearing at fashion week, and how she was one of the very first fashionista's to get her hands on Chanel highland collection, I don't want to read about Duma and her gang! Really how many of us can relate to her? And btw she had horrid fashion sense.
Rant is over! Smile

shop hang in there, it took dd 2 months to master, it will be over soon.

shopafrolic · 18/02/2014 08:26

Morning all - squee for Dry on 24 hour countdown.
Liberty good stuff about the coat.
Successful start to potty training day 2 - whispers Hmm
See Mig we swung you back round to loving parkas in the space of a week Grin
The lovely Decam is sending me her Le Pliage in exchange for some perfume so I get to try and then perhaps buy. Thanks
iPhone arrives today. Cue loads of typos on posts for a while!

LinusDKD · 18/02/2014 08:30

Morning!

Yawn, the DC woke up several times last night so I have only had about three hours sleep. DD is teething and DS didn't want to wee in his nappy so I had to take it off so he could wee on the potty.

I think we'll put a potty in his room at night and no nappy and see if he goes by himself without waking us up. Hmm

Wearing a navy J Crew painter tee, my new Jimmies and an anthracite Repeat long cardigan today. Very comfortable though the cardigan needs de-bobbling badly

LinusDKD · 18/02/2014 08:31

Ooh, Gucci Wednesday! Now that would make me forget my sleepless night!

Annianni · 18/02/2014 08:38

Oh bugger... Thought Dry had posted last night
No Gucci today Sad

can you not buy it today instead please

Turquoiseblue · 18/02/2014 09:26

Morning all.
Well done one and finger s xd for the uni application - what course?
Shop - great start to today, agree with the others - patience and Wine or Brew
I filled a glass with smarties - and left it in full view in the kitchen- one for every wee in the potty, two or three for every poo (no other treats at any time). It helped.
Maras - your poor ds, sounds terrible.
I use a tote still - drinks/ changes of clothes / shoes/ tissues/ snacks/ Lego bits / little toys and souvenirs .... Have a few I can use but no pillage, am thinking I might get one. Am currently using a whistles tote similar to this here

Mig - i ll pm you a link to burgundy parka

Dry, yeay

Decam - Yikes!

Dh did the SR today, still in pj s here!

Mignonette · 18/02/2014 09:36

Santa

Yes I am tired of the courting of the super rich acquisitive gang and their successful buying in of the fashion media. I am sure they don't feel so warmly towards them in private because they are skewing fashion. The whole Brit success in fashion is predicated upon having no money and still being stylish as can be evidenced by the fashion students who blag their way into some of the shows each season.

Do you remember the shoot with Jessica Stam in Alaska when she posed on the deck of a cruise ship in stripes and forty or more sailors? That is one of my favourites because you know the crew and participants will always remember it. That and yes, the trans Siberian shoot remain fond favourites of mine too.

Shop You removed that great big stick I had up my ass regarding parkas. I have always loved them but every other person is in a khaki parkas here so I felt I couldn't wear mine which is stupid I know but I need to have variety in my life re clothing as everything else is pretty much ordered along train track lines at this moment in time. I love Libertys blue parka. Fresh and expensive looking and well made.

Maredebois You were right to go to the doctors. Sometimes they can get a telescoping or kink in the bowel that causes constipation followed by vomiting. Usually there is a lot of pain though but good call to get in checked.

RE becoming trained we didn't 'train' them so much as leave it until they were dry nappied at night and peed upon waking. I would always have to wake them as I got up pretty early then and they would be asleep with a dry nappy. I noticed when I woke them, they then went so I'd get the nappy off and them on the loo asap and it followed from that. My son took longer - boys tend to- but they both were fast and that is down to them and nothing more. Not my skills Smile. When they went most of the day dry then nappies came off and again because they were that little bit older - two- two and a half-they had better control.

Because Have you seen the latest GOOP? TTH is 'editing' it which basically means loads of self promotion, photos of herself at fashion week but that hair is magnificent. I'd like to take my hair back to its original red- it has completely faded as I have aged Sad.

Annianni · 18/02/2014 09:49

Opinions needed please...

BrandyAlexander · 18/02/2014 10:09

Mignonette · 18/02/2014 10:36

turq

Love your parka choice - and flowery lining too!

Am having a sodding nightmare with my email at the moment. It keeps logging me out saying my cookie log in timer has expired. I have cleared cookies all to no avail!

shopafrolic · 18/02/2014 10:38

Evening Novice fair play on the UGGS - comfort is king when flying (not that I've flown for years!

Creative Music Technology Turquoise it's a really interesting course, lots of studio time and many chances to get over my stage fright and perform! Be good to put these singing lessons to use!

No style here right now, still in pjs, having a quiet rest day after a very tiring and draining day yesterday

Mignonette · 18/02/2014 11:11

Linus

Thank you - am going to conduct a comparative study on both of them and will report back!

I'm in my green skirt again - but wearing it with the pink sweater. Here's yesterdays look. Bit mish mashy as working from home so less motivated to style it up girl!
