Happy birthday umlauf

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/02/2014 12:52

Good morning/afternoon/evening, ladies. Today I knew better and I put a nice long sleeved dress on and slapped makeup for dinner at the hotel restaurant. While we were there, a couple walked in straight from the pool (t-shirt over bikini for her, swimming trunks and tank top for him) and asked for a table. They were turned away on account of the dress code.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/02/2014 12:53

This is the dress I was wearing. In reality is much lighter than in the picture, and it's modest enough while still being quite cool (temperature wise).

santamarianovella · 11/02/2014 13:41

Beautiful dress because, and good call on making effort, we once got turned away at a restaurant in paris cause dh ignored my warnings and didnt wear a jacket,

I'm obsessed with this dress
If only I knew how to get dh to overlook the tag,and just appreciate the sheer beauty of the dress,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/02/2014 13:42

Hi all! , guess you're asleep now?!

Peter Pilotto stuff has arrived and looks nice but I can't try on yet. The shoes might be a bit small (got a 7 which NAP said is a 4.5UK and I'm a wide 5, they only had whole sizes). Dress looks lovely but very summery so can't wear yet anyway. The skirt looks the nicest, I'm really looking forward to wearing it, but with what? Am struggling to think of suitable tops other than a grey sweater or black (which I can't put next to my face).

Saw some nice shoes for Dry, similar to those Loubs you liked if I remember right! Here, but only after Disco!!

Some nice mules here from Cos if anyone likes the look of all the £££ ones.

Because lovely dress and nice one on the dress code!

santamarianovella · 11/02/2014 13:49

blair other than black ,grey or white,I have no idea what you can wear it with, but im not very adventurous with mixing patterns, maybe mig can advise you,
Its beautiful though.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/02/2014 13:50

Santa, that Chloe dress is GORGEOUS!

I grew up in the very conservative North of Spain and the rule there is that you always dress up for meals. The only exception would be a hut by the beachside, but this was a hotel restaurant, overlooking the sea, yes, but still a proper restaurant.

It bugs me enough that people here get up, do their workout and then sit down for breakfast in their sweaty gym clothes. Ew we we.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/02/2014 13:52

Blair, what about a top that matches the blue pattern on the skirt? It might be a bit matchy-matchy but it might work...or maybe a simple crisp white shirt?

santamarianovella · 11/02/2014 14:37

I agree these PP pieces look more summery, white rolled sleeve shirt,or sleeveless work best,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/02/2014 15:24

Thanks santa and Because! I think the trouble is the skirt is cool toned and I am not. I was only going to buy the dress, but the site was so much less busy than I expected so I threw the other things in my basket too. And now I love the skirt (assuming it fits!). I do usually think ahead a lot more when buying things!

Will try it tomorrow with grey jumper and black tights and see if any bloggers wear the skirt soon. I think WIT said she wanted it.

That chloe dress is stunning santa and I love the quirky print with the lace.

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2014 15:33

Liberty I bought these last year....still going strong. I want these in animal print suede this year.
Blair I actually love you......those sandals are wonderful and will order ASAP.
Because I have a thing about people eating in hotel restaurants in swimwear ....uggggg

Umlauf · 11/02/2014 16:25

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

You know I said DH wasn't going to do anything?

He lied, WERE GOING TO THAILAND!!!! Oops, shouting because I'm so excited! It's kind of a work trip for him anyway but were going to tag a holiday onto it.

because I'm glad and Blush you said that about the north of Spain. I. Feeling really full of cake and was wondering whether it would be okay to teach my adult ed class tonight in jogging bottoms... Perhaps not then?!! Where abouts did you grow up? I live in San Sebastián.

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2014 16:27

Unlauf remember what Karl said about trackies!!Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/02/2014 16:28

Dry I'm pleased you like them! But I didn't want to be the one to make you break your Disco spending ban :( Wink Are you still on track?

Umlauf · 11/02/2014 16:31

I know, dry I know. I'll accept a caution from the fashion police, consider my wrist sufficiently slapped!

Maternity jeans then?!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/02/2014 16:41

Wow Umlauf sounds fantastic! When will you be going?

Fedupnagging · 11/02/2014 17:13

Umlauf that's fabulous, when do you go? You will obviously need some new clothes!

I love, love, love that dress santa. Shame about the price tag. I rarely take dh shopping as his opinion on clothes etc is directly correlated to the price tag. Very off putting.

OneLittleLady · 11/02/2014 17:32

ooh, lovely umlauf bet that was a nice surprise!

Fedupnagging · 11/02/2014 17:41

For you Dry. Grin

LinusDKD · 11/02/2014 18:44

Evening!

Wow, what a lovely surprise umlauf! Soo Envy

If you can, do a Thai cookery course like DH and I did. It was only one morning but we could eat the fruits of our labour at lunchtime. Yum.

santa that Chloe dress is to die for! It will still look good in 50 years time, it's a classic. (That argument probably won't work with your DH but it's worth a try!)

shop no my boyfriends haven't arrived yet. Sad I just hope they fit and look nice.
