Sorry you are again having a bad time at work, MrsS - thank goodness that I am now beyond that.

It's glorious here: bright sunshine, but windy, so we will probably go for a walk (I should, however, be doing some clerical work for the charity I am involved with).

Just had a row with DH as we had to take my elderly car in for a service; he's trying a new place and did he know where we had to go, could he be bothered to programme the satnav on his car .... well, I am sure you know the answer. So we trailed around the numerous roundabouts in Cramlington for what seemed like hours .. sigh. Now back home and just about talking.

Blackduck · 25/02/2014 11:23

Blimey MrsS - I think I'd deck someone who spoke to me like that - makes you sound like the office junior.....
Sorry to hear it's so rubbish again....

CointreauVersial · 25/02/2014 12:59

Sympathies regarding FIL, Herbs. Sad

We just heard that DH's fave aunty has pancreatic cancer, although at this stage it is treatable. She's a lovely lady; last year her DH was hit by a car while crossing the road, and they have only just got him back to health.

MrsS - out of the frying pan, eh? Same old, same old in this office, although I must confess to being a little....bored....at the moment. I don't quite have enough going on. I suppose I should be grateful, as from May last year until recently I barely had time to draw breath.

cremolafoam · 25/02/2014 14:05

If you could all just come here I could book a snug in this pub Grin

Oh nice Cremo ;)

Here the electrician has gutted ds's bedroom shaking his head and tutting all the while.... but at least he might have lights that work tonight.....

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2014 15:22

Cremo - looks fab! Reminds me of the Philharmonic in Liverpool - scroll through the pix to see the mens loosSmile

BD, I need to get a sparks in. And I need to get the sewing machine to the nice man who will (fingers crossed) get it back in proper working order for DD and her bloody textiles GCSE homework.

motherinferior · 25/02/2014 15:26

You're welcome here but it is a bit out of the way - might be better if I lend MrsS a hand in the kitchen.

I have just purchased a rather nice Planet coat in a similar brocade to Cremo's skirt - pale gold, silk/linen blend, I'm going to be brave and wash it - for £16.49, courtesy of the local AgeUK shop.

QueenQueenie · 25/02/2014 16:59

Well, I am pretty central (although it is Norf London) and have the space... you'd all be very welcome. We could have drinks here then scoff in the Vietnamese Restaurant around the corner... or vice versa. Friday night? Sat Night? What do you reckon?

Blackduck · 25/02/2014 17:06

Ohh QQ sounds fab - where norf?

herbaceous · 25/02/2014 17:13

I see you QQ! And I like it.

I'm, natch, game for food or drink in any order.

NUFC69 · 25/02/2014 17:18

Oh dear, CV, that's sad. Fingers crossed for her.

Lovely walk down the side of the Tyne: got excited when we heard a strange noise which I first thought was a distressed sheep Envy but which turned out to be two cormorants sitting on a tree a few feet away from the path!

motherinferior · 25/02/2014 17:25

YAY, scoffage and booze, woohoo.

motherinferior · 25/02/2014 17:26

(Sorry, am writing short story that is a kind of spoof of Kipling, and it's clearly rubbing off on me. I wrote a very sad one before, so this is cheering me up.)

QueenQueenie · 25/02/2014 17:36

N1 MI.

QueenQueenie · 25/02/2014 17:36

Sorry, that was for BD!

QueenQueenie · 25/02/2014 17:38

Crem, that pub looks amazing!

addle · 25/02/2014 17:40

love the Crown, Crem, and sorry about the interview

sympathies to Herbs and CV

NU - how fabulously pastoral - sheep and cormorants

QQ - that sounds lovely, thank you

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2014 19:52

QQ, that sounds great! It would have to be the Friday night for me (28th)Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/02/2014 19:55

QQ - yes, that sounds great, thank you! You can all come to the Scheisshaus Schadenfreude later on in the year when it is looking better.

CV if it's any help to you, my SIL had pancreatic cancer and survived. She still has regular check ups, but this was a good while ago.

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2014 20:27

addle, how did your interview go?

cremolafoam · 25/02/2014 21:09

Oh yes Addle how did you get on? A whole lot better than I did I hopeGrin

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2014 21:42

Cremo, is that the same place you stayed last time? We could be bus buddies againWink

Stropperella · 25/02/2014 22:06

MrsS, I am really sorry to hear you are having such a crap time at work. How do these horrible people make it so far up the hierarchy in your organisation?

On a completely unrelated and somewhat trivial matter, I have to say that I will be forever grateful to you for pointing me and dd in the direction of Debenhams bra dept. I have just spent not very much money at all and got myself some much-needed new cantilever constructions, which are lifting the spirits as well as everything else. Dd is likewise very happy about her underwear these days. Grin

Crem, sorry to hear about your interview being a stitch-up.

Addle, how did your interview go?

Not sure whether I can make it for the next meet-up. Rather depends on how work goes - or doesn't. Pending job has just been cancelled :(

cremolafoam · 25/02/2014 22:11

Thanks Stropps and that's excellent news on the soutien- gorge dépt of DebenhamsGrin

BTM - nope another pied de terre this time in Norf London [ Islington/ Hoxton]

We have just been peering at our very uneven floor and DH has announced that He Needs To Get Copies of the Floor Plans from the Duchy Before Going Any Further. Angry

It would be lovely to see you and admire your perky bosoms (in a friendly non-lesbetarian way) if you can make it Stropps. DD2 (who refuses to be measured for a bra) is wearing her older sister's cast off 32F Shock from Debs which is too big in the back but fine in the front. I am going to drag her to Bravissimo (or Debenhams) this weekend, I think.

MI - wash your coat on a delicate cycle with something gentle like Woolite and hang it on the line. It should be fine.
