CV and NUFC ; you're both right in a way. I've had shingles recently and also take an immuno- suppressant drug for something else, so yes immunity is buggered and I am susceptible to everything. The ophthalmologist asked which side the shingles had been on and I told her; the ulcers are on the other side which is typical as it swaps sides each bout. Yes its the zoster virus; but could have equally been a bit of dirtWink

Question is do I really want to move jobs when my health is a bit bolloxed? I am preparing to grill them on terms and conditions. Typically it's one of those meet and greet 15 minute interviews so I'm going to have to sell my crepey self against a crowd of go-to hipster 24 year olds.

I think you should go for it, Crem.

I have been out for my 'work lunch' and am not managing anything much. But in S&B news, both my new boots and my new bras are quite fabulous.

bigTillyMint · 21/02/2014 15:41

Cremo, you are waaaay better than a hipster 24yo - you're a hipster crepey. Go get it!

MI, work lunch sounds good.

I have spent the day stuffing ski socks in the washing machine in between a sprint to Asda and to fill up a tyre which was completely flat, and nipping DS to get a haircut. And it's freezing without my baselayer and salopettes on!

CV, I doubt DD has done any homework today...

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2014 16:48

I am snorting at the thought of Crem sporting the cone of shame!

I am back from the hospital minus one mole and with 4 (four, IV) stitches. I have had photos taken of my front back and sideways ("Can you hold your breasts up for me please" - yes, sadly they don't stay up on their own any more) and have to go back in June to see the geneticist and will get a letter with the result of the biopsy. I have an appointment in March, which I thought was for this, but now I am not sure what it is for (and yes, I should have asked while I was there). And provided the mole they removed is not problematical, I am to have three monthly check ups.

motherinferior · 21/02/2014 16:49

Ooh, MrsS. Time for Wine?

DD1 was amazed at the very idea of the pencil test Envy the other day, wrt boobs.

bigTillyMint · 21/02/2014 17:03

June, MrsS? That's a long time away. They must be pretty sure there's no urgency! Definitely Wine time!

Blackduck · 21/02/2014 17:27

MrsS hope all okay!

NUFC69 · 21/02/2014 18:34

Thinking about you, MrsS, and wine does sound like a good idea.

I spent the afternoon trying on long dresses for the cruise - fortunately only 4 black tie evenings. However I did come home with three dresses; was only going for 2 max but they really were bargains - I mean, how could I turn down a dress which cost £19! DH said it was his favourite even before I told him the price. Grin Ok, not hugely expensive at full price, but were over £100 each.

Crem, interesting about the shingles; I hadn't realised. I hope it's started to clear up. Good luck with the interview on Monday. No advice from me, I occasionally applied for other jobs, was offered them and then decided I didn't want to move.

bigTillyMint · 21/02/2014 19:26

NU, we need linkies to your lovely dresses!

cremolafoam · 21/02/2014 20:24

Oh yes NU show us the frocks !!
I have bought
this skirt
for the forthcoming wedding party( not going to Vegas)
Dh has declared it a ' marmite skirt' Confused
I think it will require careful styling but I fell in love with it.

beachyhead · 21/02/2014 21:42

Love that skirt, Crem and here's hoping your eye feels better soon. And very exciting about Monday's interview.

I can't believe that you have to do that many black tie do's in such a short time. That's quite hard work Grin but quite fun shopping.

I hope all is well Mrs S. I hope the date line means no-one should be concerned.

The sleepover was good. Five teenage girls, burgers, chatting and generally all very nice and peaceful.

I'm not having a nice time at work. Everyone seems to hate each other and there is lots of blame throwing and secret meetings in side rooms. It's all quite tiring and I can't really be bothered to get involved (although you always feel you should).

QueenQueenie · 21/02/2014 21:43

Love that skirt Crem. Good old topshop.
There was a whole thread on here recently about styling it... I'll see if I can find it. General consensus seemed to be something quite simple / understated... a really good quality gold or white long sleeved top sort of thing...

cremolafoam · 21/02/2014 21:57

QQ < whispers> that was me and my alter ego on that threadGrin

Nooooo. That's funny! I thought I was being so helpful telling you about it too... The skirt is lovely, the shape and colour will really suit you.
Haven't posted here for a little bit so have just been catching up and read about your poor eye. How horrible. Hope it's better soon and good luck for the interview. You'll be grand.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2014 22:24

I have gin. And made Thai meatballs with pork and the wondrous frozen Waitrose Thai spice mix, served with gluey rice and a lightly spiced ginger and coconut curry sauce. More of it would have been nice.

motherinferior · 21/02/2014 22:31

That mix is the biz, innitGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2014 22:35

It is truly wondrous. Even Picard couldn't come up with something this good. It was due to your recommendation that I put it on my order! I do wish their frozen herb selection was a bit more adventurous though - I would like to add dill, tarragon and mint to their repertoire.

Blackduck · 22/02/2014 08:03

Is the frozen thai mix part of their frozen herb/garlic/ginger range? Had the most awful thai last night so may need to do something tonight to make up for it.

Cremo - nice skirt - not my colouring, but looks very nice!
I have an interview a week on Monday, but think I might bin it off....I am not gagging for the job and it feels like better the devil and all that.
Beachy - that doesn't sound like fun....

motherinferior · 22/02/2014 09:09

Beachy, wassup?
BD, I really recommend that mix especially for a nearly instant stirfry with noodles and any lurking suitable veg (lettuce vg for this, in fact); I now do it with cashews and almonds - slosh of soy sauce, squeeze of lime of you've got it, and you are fed in 10 mins from "what's for dinner, mum?"

lalsy · 22/02/2014 09:22

Morning crepeys.

That is so funny about alter egos discussing skirts...it is a lovely one.

I have had a lovely but quiet week, spend not enough time working and a bit too much researching border fixes for our favourite board game which tends to fall apart at the edges...there is a whole world out there of people making things to supplement games, or even quilting quilts to match their favourite game. I never knew.

Thais frozen spicy thing sounds great.

bigTillyMint · 22/02/2014 09:30

Is this a Waitrose number, MI/MrsS?

Beachy, sounds a pain - upset at work is not good.

Cremo, skirt looks great - what are you teaming it up with?!

Blackduck · 22/02/2014 09:34

Ohh MI might give it a whirl... I picked up their £6 meal deal yesterday (prawns, noodles, veg, sauce) so have the necessary - and I am pretty sure I have a packet of that lurking in the freezer somewhere...

motherinferior · 22/02/2014 09:41

It is indeed Waitrose/Ocado.

Lalsy, how is the scab?

DD2 wants to go to the Lego movie. DD1 wants me to take her for a haircut...

motherinferior · 22/02/2014 09:46

...and they've just brought Grumpy Cat back from the vet and she may have cancer.

beachyhead · 22/02/2014 09:47

It's just an American/European contrast issue, I suppose. It's always hard managing a growing office from the US and there is a vast difference in how requests are made and heard.

I'm just a piggy in the middle, trying to pacify both sides. It will pass or blow up in time, but it just makes me not look forward to going in on Monday!

Rudy, good luck for going back to work. Do you always get this first January half term off? Lovely long recovery from Christmas.
