I have neither a foam roller or a tennis ball. I wonder if DS's swimming noodle would do?

He's loving his week of crash course lessons. Tough I don't think he's going to be the next Olympic champion.

lalsy · 20/02/2014 08:57

Good going MI on work front, NU on holiday front, Wilbur on cake/Odyssey front (what is the production?) and Beachy on wills front. I seem to have achieved very little this week but have had a lovely time with modest doses of fun thrown in.

NUFC69 · 20/02/2014 08:58

Wilbur, v impressed you have the cake in the oven so early - it sounds lovely. When you have time the recipe would be appreciated (or a link).

You must be exhausted, Herbs. Only two more days to go!

I am off shortly to the dental hospital Sad - the things I have to do to avoid looking like an old crone. I think I would look good hunched over a cauldron ... hubble, bubble.

herbaceous · 20/02/2014 09:12

Further mad cat news. He's always liked pulling drying laundry off the airer, but has now become very attached to DS's swimming trunks, which he'll pull down - even if it means climbing up the airer to do so - then snuffle among, and rub all over his face. I'm assuming it's something to do with the chlorine - he loves all janitorial products. If I've been cleaning the bathroom, or whatever, he'll lick my hands until all traces of Cillit Bang have gone. He'll lick perfume from my wrists, bleach from a drain and mascara from my eyelashes.

Mental.

Have got a (grudging) day off today, so meeting up with friend and her DD and hopefully going to the Tower of London. DD2 is then going back with friend to see her friends in the village we used to live in. She hasn't seen them for about 5 years and is very excited at the thought.

Kitten pissed on our bed again last night Sad. No idea why she does this, but not happy about it. She is healthy, still did it when on pussy anti-depressants... DH muttering darkly about a one way trip to the vet or to Battersea. Sad

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/02/2014 09:16

Cats love bleach, Herbs, although it is supposed to be toxic to them. Kitten likes to writhe in DH's abandoned underwear. Hmm

motherinferior · 20/02/2014 09:19

Another day, another dose of nit shampoo....

Rudy - do not go to Ikea at half term! It's where everyone goes to try and cram their children into the free creche but it's always full, so the whole place is full of whining kids and pissed off parents. And I say that as someone who bloody loves Ikea.

motherinferior · 20/02/2014 09:42

I would like it on record I have conducted my third Ladyjog in as many days.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/02/2014 10:54

DH has now stripped the hall and we have wires hanging down everywhere. I am wondering how long it will take to get straight. I estimate 5 years. Sad I just want the place to look reasonable, I don't need a show home.

Blackduck · 20/02/2014 10:55

I am going to try the tennis ball thing....

DDog messed on the kitchen floor last night - dp not best pleased as he 'found' it and thus had to clean it up......

I have tomorrow off (hooray) and have decided I am sick of wearing cheap off the shelf specs that don't actually fit and I am going to go and get a proper pair (Not sure if I feel grown up or just bloody old....)

Rudy - good to hear re yesterday!
BTM - hope you are having fun....

I was hoping for a meal with dp tomorrow night sans small one, but think he might just fall facedown in the starter he is so tired.....

motherinferior · 20/02/2014 10:59

At least you don't get dead rodents as well as crap, BD. Mr Inferior was not best pleased yesterday morning.

I have realised with cold horror that I have quite a lot to get through in the next month. (Yet will still starve, obvs.) Must do this current feature...

I'm in soft play again. This time with no friends as the place was so full we had to queue up, watching our pals inside. They left as we went in, but DS was determined to 'soft play' anyway.

It is hell.

motherinferior · 20/02/2014 12:25

Dante could have learned a thing or two from soft play, Herbs. (And from New Look.) I think I speak for all of us when I say our thoughts are with you.

herbaceous · 20/02/2014 12:32

Lord, take me now. A school party has just arrived.

Blackduck · 20/02/2014 13:37

Herbs - much strength

motherinferior · 20/02/2014 13:40

You can get through this, Herbs. We know you can.

herbaceous · 20/02/2014 15:56

I escaped by lying about the time, and bribing with a milky bar. Now at pal's house ignoring three boys watching cartoons, while drinking tea.

NUFC69 · 20/02/2014 16:52

Herbs, only tea - you must be a saint! Soft play was only just coming in when my DC were small so I missed most of this pleasure. I am almost sure they are the work of the devil.

The dental hospital did not torture me, but I have found out that I am having a course of six treatments, so no doubt they'll be saving that for later.

DD has been over this afternoon while they try to dry the carpets after her flood - nowhere for the children to play.

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2014 16:54

Fabulous sunny weather for our last daySmile Sounds like you have all been having busy fun times too. Fingers crossed the plane back is not delayed!

Stropperella · 20/02/2014 17:09

My dcs are v deprived, as they have never done "soft play" as a thing unless they were invited to a party. Luckily, we don't even have this sort of facility in our town anyway. I have only been to such places 4 times (if you don't count pickups and dropouts). Grin
Today we went to look at an art gallery in Bridport. DS gave his expert judgement on each picture. I hope none of the artists were there to hear. "Looks like seagull poo with scribble on it." (had to agree with him in that particular case) We inspected the latest huge rockfall on the beach - from about 500m away. Won't be walking anywhere near any cliffs for some time to come.
Stroppdog is still v sorry for himself and may need to don the Cone of Shame soon, as he is fussing at some of his stitches.
