Suddenly DD1 looks shiny and new Grin

hattymattie · 14/02/2014 13:53

HerbsShock Grin

MI - only about four more years to go.

motherinferior · 14/02/2014 13:58

There's another one following...

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2014 14:29

Awww for sweet DS'sSmile

I think we will be having a family Valentines tonight as DD seems to be thinking she would rather stay inSmile

herbaceous · 14/02/2014 14:41

DP is out tonight, and probably working and visiting his family tomorrow. He's been in Dublin the past two days. Feeling a trifle lone parent.

motherinferior · 14/02/2014 16:17

Oh Herbs.

Again, if you would like a grumbleflumpSLAMgrumbleSHOUTgrumbleNOBODYUNDERSTANDS 13 year old to distract (she is very good with children) I can offer one for a very reasonable price...

Seriously, though, a bit pants.

back to the report. Conclusions now. Then the summary. ...

Blackduck · 14/02/2014 16:22

Absolutely torrential rain on the school run - all totally soaked......
Hoping dp gets back okay for our trek around the village! Glad I'm not hosting anything - a dozen damp people trailing through the house? No thanks!

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 16:23

Conclusions and summary sounds promisingly near the end MI!
Herbs, MI, I find the dcs all have their charms and less desirable foibles at every age... it's just that the form it takes changes....

Ds2 on his way back from skiing holiday, arriving tomorrow to keep me company. I miss dh and ds1, but if I'm honest the oddest thing is being at home without ddog!

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2014 16:27

Friend at work got a lovely bouquet deliveredEnvy from her DH of 20 years. I photographed it to show DH (they are also friends)Smile

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 17:09

Have just spent money I wasn't planning on spending on the boden clearance site... some good stuff (and lots of hideous stuff). Have purchased this cashmere jumper for £24 and blingtastic trousers (to wear on those days when I'm not sporting my gold addle skirt..).

Blackduck · 14/02/2014 17:12

See QQ always surprises me when you link to such stuff because I have you down as a monochrome kinda girl ;-)

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 17:12

Ew. My link shows a horrible dog poo coloured jumper... I passed on that colourway and mine is the one with black and whit stipes and a bright pink neck. My trews are the lairy silver ones...

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 17:18

I'm a women of extremes BD... monochrome or lairy...

Blackduck · 14/02/2014 17:19

I like the lairy silver ones....

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2014 17:22

Oh QQ, I have to admit I have also succumbed to the Boden clearance... I can't do cropped trousers - they look like pedal pushers on me! Got long red cord jeans and an ecru jumper - nothing as blingtastic as yours!

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 17:25

my secret tip is to buy them in the long length.. hey presto! they're not cropped.

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2014 17:26

I have exactly that jumper in my Shopping Bag at the moment! I also have a nigh-on identical pair of trews I bought at Next just before Christmas, which I wore with a black top and a blingy necklace, as an alternative to the LBD. The Bistro Crops are lovely.

See, I reckon QQ has a very colourful side. Wink

Anyhoo, must venture out in the rain to collect DD2 from her Valentine's Disco. She went to a friend's house to get changed after school, carting several outfits and a sack full of makeup and hair accessories. Said friend's mother is a hairdresser, so I imagine curling tongs may have been involved.

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 17:30

Buy it CV, we can be knitwear twins!
Nice trews BTM and I really like the shape of that jumper. Bargains!

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2014 17:45

Ah yes, they would probably be the right length of cropped on me then!

motherinferior · 14/02/2014 18:37

I am double checking the bibliography.

Nuff said.

Haven't started on the summary. Then have to read through, spot numerous mistakes, etc. Will be a looooooooong weekend.

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2014 19:02

MI, marking students books sounds a breeze in comparison!

herbaceous · 14/02/2014 19:15

Tempting though the Boden sale is, I'm not allowed to spend money as I've put my name down for the choir tour in May, which is going to be £300. How about this for crepey - we're all going by coach to Harrogate, then singing in a couple of concerts.

DS being 'challenging'. I'm putting it down to being knackered after a long few weeks at school. I have already started on the wine.

QueenQueenie · 14/02/2014 19:23

I prescribe an early night for him Herbs!
Ladysinging jaunt sounds most crepey...

NUFC69 · 14/02/2014 19:40

Herbs, you will like Harrogate, I think - we've been several times. Whereabouts are you singing? Or is it something to do with the Conference Centre? We usually stay at the Holiday Inn, which is convenient for everything, although have done the Majestic, too. You must try a trip to Betty's and have a Fat Rascal. Some nice fashion shops, too, if you can be dragged away from the singing.

Sorry to hear about DS - my DD was telling me how tomorrow's birthday boy was being completely obnoxious this morning both pre-nursery and after they arrived there (something on the lines on her not parking in the parking spot he wanted her to use!). Enjoy your wine.

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2014 19:56

The washing machine has stopped working.

It fills with water, the timer ticks down, but the drum turneth not. Angry Angry

I just found a bottle of Laurent Perrier in the depths of the fridge. It is going down very well.
