Should I blow nearly £500 on a faux fur coat?

I love it so
What do others think of the coat... I probably won't end up buying it because that would be pretty silly. But I might.

Its awful sorry

If it was all black or a deep red or plum one without the strips then i might consider if it was no more than £150

alma123 · 22/01/2014 12:22

Sorry I don't like it

BunnyLebowski · 22/01/2014 12:22

So long as you're ok looking like Sully!

I think the stripes cheapen it quite a lot. There are faux furs I would spend £500 on. That is not one of them!

GlitzAndGiggles · 22/01/2014 12:23

I personally don't like it and don't think it's worth 500. TK Maxx have lovely faux fur coats for under 60

Cezzieb · 22/01/2014 12:23

It's amazing, but £500 is a lot of money!

Beeyump · 22/01/2014 12:24

Confused Wow, I genuinely thought more people would like it!

Beeyump · 22/01/2014 12:25

Cezzie, I know, I know. Ugh, if only I had more cash at my disposal

I think it is great - I love a stand out and be different coat. If you can easily afford it, buy it!

WillieWaggledagger · 22/01/2014 12:27

a bit too cookie monster for me

am amused that in Active Convos this thread title was placed above 'Why do i never have any money...???'

Beeyump · 22/01/2014 12:27

Yes, I like that it's quite stand out. Living in chilly Scotland, I do spend quite a lot of time in coats and I prefer them not to be too dull.

I love faux fur, but the colour and the stripes are wrong, IMO. I also wouldn't shell out lots of £££ of faux fur as it doesn't last very many years without the fibres looking a bit nasty. And you don't need to - TopShop do lovely faux fur for around the £100 mark.

dexter73 · 22/01/2014 12:29

I think it's awful but if you like it and can afford it then why don't you order it and see what it is like in real life.

Beeyump · 22/01/2014 12:30

Is this one even more awful and hideous?

Oops sorry, it's tiny.

choceyes · 22/01/2014 12:41

I think it's awful...sorry. It's the stripes more than anything. I can't see it being flattering to anybody.

burnishedsilver · 22/01/2014 12:45

I think you've lost your mind.

burnishedsilver · 22/01/2014 12:52

OP posts:
Beeyump · 22/01/2014 12:54

I fudging love the stripes.

burnishedsilver · 22/01/2014 12:57

If you like the teddy bear coloured one you'll find one a lot cheaper elsewhere. There are a few of them around. It's not an investment piece. You'll get sick of it so it's not worth spending a lot on.

littlepurplealien · 22/01/2014 12:59

Honestly ?

It looks like an furry upmarket version of a Hi-vis donkey jacket.

It's a complete rip-off financially.

Gileswithachainsaw · 22/01/2014 12:59

It's not to my taste but if you like it and have the money go for it. :)

Corygal · 22/01/2014 13:03

I love it. But if you can hang on a bit, some high street stores are bound to do a cheaper version.

Mind you, if you have 500 quid, it will last for three or four years.

Twinklestein · 22/01/2014 13:08

Def not.
