Should I blow nearly £500 on a faux fur coat?

I love it so
What do others think of the coat... I probably won't end up buying it because that would be pretty silly. But I might.

Heinous.

I bought a beautiful, white, real rabbit-fur, vintage coat this week for £45.

That looks synthetic and shit.

Felyne · 23/01/2014 14:01

I clicked on the link to look at it and now it's popping up advertising itself to me on nearly every other page I visit...

Beeyump · 23/01/2014 14:10

Thanks cat Smile

And I know, it's popping up everywhere for me too,

Love it.

caramelchaos · 24/01/2014 21:48

beeyump... I own a faux fox fur and wore it to the pub last week... noone would sit with me because it was apparently 'horrendous'.
I think your coat is fabulous!

Beeyump · 24/01/2014 22:43

I would have sat next to you, caramel. We could have been happy, stylish outcasts together Grin

That would have been amazing. you could have your sully/Mr bump coat on and I would be dressed like something from a murder mystery weekend. Perhaps outcasts through jealously? Smile

Beeyump · 24/01/2014 23:36

Almost certainly jealousy!

how much faux fur is too much? is there such a things as too much?

DavidHarewoodsFloozy · 25/01/2014 00:05

Bee this thread has cheered me up!

Grin The Cookie Monster.

I,m on a Japanese site looking at a beautiful vintage furisode kimono, that I have no use for apart swan around like Gloria Swanson

If you want the coat baby, get the coat.

CotedePablo · 25/01/2014 00:18

It looks cheap. If you're going to spend that much on a coat, faux fur, fabric, or whatever, it has to be a classic.

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 25/01/2014 00:20

Fwiw I don't think £500 is too expensive for a coat, but I really think faux fur looks cheap at any price. It wrinkles, and real fur doesn't. For £500 you could get a pretty Anglomania coat?

catinboots · 25/01/2014 03:55

Or one made of happy, bright-eyed kittens. Who would otherwise be chasing a ball of wool....

If it's the 'real' fur ishooo you have, I'll quite happily discuss that.

If it's the style/colour of the coat, I'll happily point you in the direction of a style advisor and optician

catinboots · 25/01/2014 03:58

Message previous to ^^^^

Said I had no problem with fur.... I eat meat, wear leather etc etc

AmberNectarine · 25/01/2014 08:02

Urgh to real fur.

Beeyump · 25/01/2014 09:59

I have no need for a style advisor or optician, cat and I don't want a massive, real fur coat. I just don't.

OP posts:
Beeyump · 25/01/2014 10:01

And floozy I adore clothes which are perfect for just swanning around in!

DavidHarewoodsFloozy · 26/01/2014 00:57

bee that bloody coat is following me around the interweb.

It,s mind control I tell you.

Janorisa · 26/01/2014 08:12

It has been following me too...

Hassled · 26/01/2014 08:22

The only nice fake fur coats are the ones which look like actual fur. And then you'd feel like you were condoning real fur. It's a bastard.

catinboots · 26/01/2014 08:28

Are all of you ^ughing^ at real fur, strict vegans??

catinboots · 26/01/2014 08:29

And do none of you wear leather shoes?

AmberNectarine · 26/01/2014 08:37

Do people eat a lot of mink and chinchilla then?

catinboots · 26/01/2014 08:41

Are mink and chinchilla more worthy of life than cows, sheep or chickens?

AmberNectarine · 26/01/2014 08:47

Are the practices employed in the fur trade as humane and regulated as those in the farming industry?

Is there any proven benefit to health from the wearing of fur?
