My restaurant is lovely - the food is great and the staff are lovely. We are there so often they greet us like family and gives us free wine at Christmas! We could always go there for a crepey get together... you could come back to your old haunts for an evening Herbs!

Any time. Am sure we could combine it with some drinking before or after... it can be a mini get together if only a few of us fancy it...

CointreauVersial · 31/01/2014 22:38

I don't think I've ever been to a Vietnamese restaurant, but any place that offers free wine.....Grin

Herbs - good luck for Monday, if it happens. Your poor mite, getting so worried about it.

Strops, Happy Birthday! You are sounding a lot more positive.

By the way, Crepeys, I forgot to mention I now have two shiny new epi-pens and have been referred for allergy testing. It will set my mind at rest knowing exactly what it was (but my money is still on hazelnuts).

herbaceous · 31/01/2014 23:19

QQ - I am IN. Is your local perchance the Vietnamese Canteen? That was a minute from my old gaff.

Little man. We're going to tell him of the op on Sunday, and use the age old trick of bribery to see him through.

QueenQueenie · 31/01/2014 23:21

Would be a pleasure to eat summer rolls with you... it's not that one but a v good friend lives 2 mins from the Viet Canteen so I know it well!

QueenQueenie · 31/01/2014 23:21

And meant to say bribery in such a situation is a very good idea. Poor thing.

herbaceous · 31/01/2014 23:54

Excellent. Let's do it soon!

In other news, our cat (him of the swollen head, 'blindness', etc) is officially mental. He's been getting up on the kitchen counter, getting down boxes of herbal teabags from the shelf, emptying some out, ripping them up, and making a nest on top of the hob.

NUFC69 · 01/02/2014 06:47

I love the idea of your cat making a nest, Herbs. Also think that it's at times like these with DS that bribery comes into its own.

We are lightless here: when I came up to bed last night and switched on light, there was a pop and centre light went out. That was when we discovered all lights weren't working, up and downstairs! Fortunately 13 amp ring is ok so we have heat and power for table lights, shower etc. DH is waiting for daylight to have a look and see what has gone wrong.

bigTillyMint · 01/02/2014 06:53

NU, ours do that from time to time - we have an ancient fuse board and the wire goes!

Can I come to the Vietnamese shindig too?

Blackduck · 01/02/2014 07:02

Ahh I woke up thinking about Stropps and Bdays only to find I had missed it :(
Hope you had a lovely evening!

Herbs fingers crossed for Monday! I suspect there is something in those tea bags your cat likes Smile

Yy to Vietnamese Grin

motherinferior · 01/02/2014 08:00

Definitely on for Vietnamese too.

But now I have to go to Aldi, the glamour, in order to stock up on fruit, veg and indeed vile fizzy pop for DD1's pizza bash later. And prosecco in large quantities Grin

I am still in PJs- no electricity at all now whilst DH fiddles with the fuse box (that sounds quite risqué).

Rudy, my DH managed a paltry 28 miles yesterday, but it was only 3 degrees C and pouring with rain. He's never done 70, most he has managed was about 45ish when he and DS did the C2C a couple of years ago. DDil and I watched from afar!

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/02/2014 08:33

The Filorga BB cream is excellent, and lasts for ages. I am not a good advert for any skin care brand at the moment as I am very spotty (those large lumpy ones that may or may not get a head, as the whim takes them).

I have Aldi envy. May use the opportunity of being Down Your Way to stock up, MI. You may wish to know that they are a Which Best Buy for teabags, gin, Fake Pimms, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and biological washing liquid. Lidl beat them on the Faileys though. Grin

I can do 30 miles on a bike! Wouldn't be as fast as your DH's though!
I have been to the gym, now waiting for a man to come and take all the garden debris away.
DH has gone to the gym, DD is coaching and DS is still in bedSmile

I am feeling like I should investigate the Filorga BB cream...

Dp has gone to work (still feeling very I'll - didn't even make the pub last night). I need to shop and stuff....

My M&S parcel was left on the doorstep ('safe place' ha!) of the old house so I can wave bye bye to that - luckily I hadn't spent too much.... :(

QueenQueenie · 01/02/2014 09:52

Anyone who is prepared to trek to my neck of the woods is very welcome on a Vietnamese outing... I should say it's not the least glamourous or anything, the attraction is definitely the food rather than the ambience!

Am still in bed. Bliss. Dh and ddog in the park on their weekly outing (dh is fawned over by a bunch of dog owning women who meet each week and who get all put out if I ever turn up), ds2 is indoor climbing up the road from the park and ds1 is working at his desk / facebooking / watching netflix. All is well.

bigTillyMint · 01/02/2014 09:55

I have a lovely town & country bike with massive wheels and a padded gel seatWink

My friend was telling me of the lovely Vietnamese restaurants in Hoxton...

QueenQueenie · 01/02/2014 09:59

Have looked at the BB cream you are all buying on the m and s website. What coulour do you have those who like it? Is the beige quite pinkish in real life (am worried it would make me look jaundiced if not). here
I currently have Bobbi Brown BB stuff which is v good but quite foundation like so keen to jump on- the crepey bandwagon try it if it's so good but can't be arsed to go to marble arch to hunt it down and test it--. Ta.

QueenQueenie · 01/02/2014 10:01

Am ignoring your very impressive cycling feats as the thought of cycling 35 miles makes me feel ill. Am finding my 3 x a week staggering / jogging quite enough of a challenge.
