A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

Oh Mig it must be so difficult for you all. I'm sure that must be a lot of dwelling on the negative but there are positive signs, as you've mentioned above. I hope your niece continues to show signs of improvement Thanks

Annianni · 06/01/2014 14:33

I meant take the older niece out Mig, for a girly fun day.

Mignonette · 06/01/2014 14:59

Sorry Anni I misunderstood.

I do when I am in Germany and sometimes when she visits at less busy times (she comes over for part of her school holidays). I will have a chat with my brother at the opportune moment to see what if anything he can do but he is so overwhelmed with work/baby/court case V clinic and older niece.

Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2014 16:10

He he shop
mig your outfit sounds wonderful. Olive green is one of my fav colours.... Beautiful with dark red.

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2014 16:11

Ruby my AR has finally been dispatched! Still waiting. Might go off it by the time it is here Wink

Grumpy love that jumper. Good one.

Shop dh is swapping to low carb, he is so over the top with it makes me laugh. He's had some sort of low carb epiphany.

Hope everyone feels better soon, Barbie, Novice and anyone I have missed.

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2014 16:56

Absolute waste of time at the pain clinic. Didn't even see an actual doctor, just the physio practitioner who was absolutely no use. She basically said that there aren't any more treatments they can try for me which I know is crap as I've read about at least a half dozen different treatments I've never had. I just can't understand how they can have decided they won't work when they haven't been tried?!?! I demanded they make me an appointment to see a proper doctor. Argh, sorry for ranting, I'm very upset by it Sad

shopafrolic · 06/01/2014 17:09

Men never do things by halves do they Marsha
Do sport, buy EVERY piece of kit ever invented
Do diet, act like they wrote the book Grin

Have a cold, act likes it is flu!

Sorry to hear that One, hope you see a doctor soon.

My Atterley Rd order is on the way too. Got in touch with Matches on Twitter and they said they'd get back to me but still nothing.

Decameron · 06/01/2014 17:52
  • act like
shopafrolic · 06/01/2014 18:14

decam I'm really surprised by how poor the service is from Matches - not the norm surely?

OP posts:
santamarianovella · 06/01/2014 18:52

decam keep calling the that's not acceptable at all!

mig your niece is a fighter, babies are so sweet at that age,

one sorry to hear that, don't give up ask to see someone capable of evaluating your case,

We saw the dr this morning, and he says that her legs are perfectly fine, but he suspects that it has to do more with her lower spine,we got a referral for a ct scan ,and I'm having mixed feelings about it,dh says to not do it,scans are not pleasant specially for babies, and there might be nothing wrong, but I have this voice in my head saying, that a specialist won't ask for a scan unless he suspects something is wrong, will need to think about it .
We then went to selfridges,dd was so cute, turned to me before entering the store and said : i behave,i no touch anything mummy.
i,bought a few things for the dcs,and then went to kitchenware and bought a dualit toaster and kettle,it was time to bury our old one,and this looks nicer, thought of marsha when i had a look at all the coffee machines, planing on getting one but can't choose which.

Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2014 18:53

Have one room (study) to tidy, takes a month! Grin I can do the house in a day

I had a boyfriend the one I saw looking like a fat, middle aged bloke on FB recently. Unlike my good self who looks every bit the same age as when we were courting, love that word Wink took me out for dinner for my birthday when he was on a diet.
"have what you want" he said
I went bonkers, 3 courses and wine while he ate a salad Hmm then made me pay for my bit Shock I did NOT marry him Angry ......and he was always a bit of a porker and bought me a spice rack for my birthday, tosser

As you can see I'm not bitter Grin

Back to fashion.......

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2014 19:14

Santa a scan is not always a bad thing, the doctor may have suspicions, which is obviously why he's requested it but that's not to say there is actually anything wrong. Take some time to think about it but if it were me, I'd have it done. Better to know and be able to deal with it, whatever the outcome than to not and bury your head in the sand and then it possibly lead to more issues. Thanks Thanks both for you and DD

Oh, I am not giving up Santa I am seeing a doctor next month and if I get nowhere with them, I'm asking for a second opinion from another pain clinic. I'm also going to the GP and asking to be referred to the community occupational health team.

Decameron · 06/01/2014 19:32

Matches usually are very helpful. For some reason they didn't get my emails but we are in touch now :) and they've already refunded my original delivery charge.

Your DD sounds adorable, Santa. I'd be inclined to go ahead with the scan for peace of mind and to rule things out.

Glad your little niece is doing well, Mig. It must be tough sometimes on your other niece.

Cool sweater, Grumpy.

Sounds like you made the right decision not to go with Mr Spice Rack, Dry!

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2014 19:35

He bought you A SPICE RACK?!?! Dry I'm glad he didn't become MrDry you obviously had a lucky escape!

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2014 19:46

Santa I saw a £3k one in SCP the other day. I nearly cried. £3k coffee machine, bet it makes the best coffee. I felt better before I knew such a lovely thing existed Grin.

I hope all goes ok with the scan if you do it. We did an MRI with ds1 years ago, he looked so little.

Dry you are funny.

Mignonette · 06/01/2014 20:31

One How annoying. Do you mean the community occupational therapy team? If so, that is a great idea.

Santa I echo Ones advice to have the scan and hopefully baby will cope with it well. They make lightly sedater her to make it less intimidating.

Flowers for you both. Clearly not the best of days for either of you.

OneLittleLady · 06/01/2014 20:33

I did mean that Mig I've been furious all evening after my appointment and not proof reading!

Drywhiteplease · 06/01/2014 21:00

Oh santa I think we crossed posts. So sorry to hear about your dilemma. I have to say that in my limited experience mum does know best. Go with your gut and have piece of mind, you will worry if you don't and of course you will worry if you do. The scan may not be pleasant but your dd will forget about it, little children are like that. She sounds adorable. Love to you. X

LinusDKD · 06/01/2014 21:21

No time for a catch-up again but I just wanted to give ((((hugs)))) to one and santa!

shopafrolic · 06/01/2014 21:41

santa what Dry said. Go with your gut. Hugs to you xx

Does anyone use Laura Mercier make up? As well as upgrading my wardrobe, I want to upgrade my make up bag as well and take better care of myself. Wondering, most particularly if it's any good for the very pale and for reasonably sensitive skin.

santamarianovella · 06/01/2014 22:31

Thank you all, doing the scan is the right thing to do, she had a few accidents were her knees buckle, it does not happen frequently, will talk to dh about it in a few days time,

one I tried Laura mercier, its a good brand, but the colurs are a bit limited, and I find it a little bit heavy, and I did breakout after using it.

marsha 3k! I saw the Jura machine which is what I'm after, and nearly fainted after reading the price 1.5k! It looked so sleek and cool, like the ones theyhave in cafes, but way too expensive .
the new nespresso looks good though, better than the old ones, and it has £70 gift voucher, good for using it buy a couple of months supply of coffee pods.

dry that's a good one,made me Grin

MarshaBrady · 06/01/2014 22:36

Santa it was this one although sure it was slightly bigger and more, but maybe not. It was sooo nice. I gasped. Big hug for the scan.

One I've heard good things about LM and have used it and it seemed ok. Hope you get to see a Dr.

Shop Dh keeps eating all my fish and spinach. I have to stop being territorial over the food Grin.

shopafrolic · 06/01/2014 22:38

I wore my LKB knee high boots today (flat ones) with Goldsign Lures (which yes, I do live in) and my Vince Yak jumper (did I say I saw Yaks at the zoo the other week? Ugly buggers!)
I was inspired by QueenC - didn't feel too odd surprisingly (and I had lovely warm legs) Grin
I wear Laura mercier concealer, tinted moisturiser and some lipsticks. All fine for me.
