A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

Okay. I hear you.

Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 15:04

these are lovely Shop. I've worm my M and S version from last S/S so much they're going a bit bald Shock may try to be restrained for the rest of the month.

QueenCadbury · 10/01/2014 15:08

French sole are cheaper than banana republic. Are they good quality?

The reason I'm asking so much about quality is that I'd like to wear them round Marrakech and on the school run so they need to be fairly hard wearing.

Mignonette · 10/01/2014 15:08

Love the tongue in cheek name of those pumps Dry.

Mignonette · 10/01/2014 15:11

For Marrakech you need a decent thickness of sole with a little bend in it because the going can be a little stony/rutted/uneven. if they flex open too much at the sides you'll be emptying stones and bits out them all day.

They also need to be brushable and not prone to dust gathering. I'd not go for a fragile skin there if you are going to be exploring the streets and surrounding countryside.

Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 15:17

My one pair of FR Sole ballet flats have a very thin sole. Wouldn't risk it QC

Mignonette · 10/01/2014 15:24

My one foray into a Medina left me with bright yellow feet because I somehow (god knows how) got Turmeric inside my shoes.

Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 15:30

Anni no cocks in Debretts!
Have learnt all about "Social kissing"...." It should consist of merely a fleeting and imperceptible contact with the skin".... Damm no snogging then!oooooo look " others gently bump cheeks like dainty dolphins" Grin this is great stuff! how have I managed to not know this?
And, topically, in the Ascot section, I need to rethink my outfit because "headline grabbling vulgarity is in poor taste".....damm Sad
It's a great read. So useful, if the Queen should ever come over I'll know exactly what to do ....Grin

QueenCadbury · 10/01/2014 15:30

Gah. I'm going to wearing bloody merrell trainers in Marrakech aren't I? I'd wear my converse but they're just not that comfy to wear for hours at a time as they sometimes start to rub at the back.

Anyway dry I hate you for pointing me in the direction of French sole. I'm a teeny bit in love with these and most of the other ballet flats on there

QueenCadbury · 10/01/2014 15:32

be still my beating heart. And I'm not even a shoe person Grin

QueenCadbury · 10/01/2014 15:34

navy and black-one of my fave colour combos.

LinusDKD · 10/01/2014 15:35

Stop linking cobalt shoes queenc!!!! I am especially in love with the first pair!

Glad to see you have got your fashion mojo back even though you're not feeling too well physically.

mig did you see the leopard kitten heels I linked for you? Or do you hate them and are too polite to say?

QueenCadbury · 10/01/2014 15:42

Who wants to come round and style me in a pair of jeans a la WIT. If only foxy were here, I could get her to do it.

Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 15:45

Very you QueenC .
I turn up my gap real straight....have a go and pin, nice relaxed look with your converse

Mignonette · 10/01/2014 16:01

They are your colour Queen and also very close to Majorelle blue which is what Yves St Laurent used a lot in his own Moroccan estate. The cutwork leather is very Moroccan too.

Here it is.

Linus have just found them. I do like them a lot and would wear them with my cuffed Helmuts in very dark grey. They are slightly higher than many kittens (which I prefer) as too low a heel and my feet look like Viking longboats.

shopafrolic · 10/01/2014 16:05

Coooooeeee I'm back. Swimming lesson then playdate. DS and I are knackered Grin
Mig What Dry said at 14.49. You said you'd hidden the thread, did the big apology and then went back in all guns blazing. I appreciate there's history but it's just horrid. Enough - please????
FrenchSole have been very hit and miss for me - the fit is v unpredictable. Dry thanks for the slipper link but I definitely want pointy flats - I've decided they are more me (My fashion learning from last year).
QueenC sorry to hear you're still feeling rubbish. Feet up and browse YY
Marsha am dying to hear your verdict on the Frame. I need to try them again later or tomorrow....

Linus love the chambray and the sweater you linked for Marsha

Mignonette · 10/01/2014 16:13

I did hide the thread then read the comments about it earlier on here and my will weakened and I unhid it. That's not an attempt to blame anybody as it was my choice bur it is rather hard to read references to horrid stuff written elsewhere on here and not know what is going on.

I have had some lovely PMs from lurkers on both threads who have been very reassuring and non vitriolic.

You know who you all are and thank you Flowers

Anyway I am stepping away from Mumsnet for a while.

Have a good weekend MNVers and get well soon Queen.

shopafrolic · 10/01/2014 16:19

PM Mig

Yes Shop the M and S are "almond toe" like your snakeskin ones I think. A better shape and price wonder if they'll do them again?

shopafrolic · 10/01/2014 16:39

I did wear the M&S a lot last year but I do really love a good point. My Missoni flats look better - I think it's my skinny long feet.

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 16:40

Unlike my short podgy ones! I'm not joking...they are too

shopafrolic · 10/01/2014 16:52

Sleep I had that face scanner thing as part of my birthday gift - quite scary! I love Elemis facials though - they seem to be the only ones that make an immediate difference to my skin. Hope you've had a lovely day.
Liberty's was where I swooned at Rockstuds (shortly before Santa offered hers out on loan :) )

Sorry guys, people have been grim to me on that thread, dragging up my personal life and making personal attacks. I will defend myself to the hilt if I get slagged off - may not get me anywhere but I wouldn't be myself if I didn't.

Suggest you all hide it though, and I will keep a respectful distance from this thread to avoid dragging you into disrepute Wink

shopafrolic · 10/01/2014 16:58

Amber people have been vile to you. I PM'd you saying as much so please don't think I'm having a go. I just think it's all gone too far - so I'm asking for it to stay off MNV. The lines are getting blurred.
