A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

A good day to have missed I think santa (although my links have been amazing Grin ) - I would love to know what size the store would recommend for a UK12, but only if you're passing. Not crucial. Thanks

Will do shop,

Drywhiteplease · 09/01/2014 22:24

Why didn't I buy this dress? Was it Santa why suggested it for me. Now I really want it. Sold out. Perfect for work

Mignonette · 09/01/2014 22:25

Because

You most certainly can and it is very appreciated. Thank you.

Mignonette · 09/01/2014 22:32

Santa

I have been reading you debate the merits and not of going ahead with further investigations and I agree too with others that not knowing is a more destructive anxiety than knowing. You are then 'playing with a full hand of cards' and hopefully the results will be hopeful and any findings manageable.

We are all here for you Flowers and you know that my Daughter had major surgery for Scoliosis ten years ago- I am only a PM away for general ventilating and hand holding.

Dry that dress is cute and would look good with my Degrade yelloow and black Choos. Despite the skid mark on them from the floor Shock. I love yellow or bright pink with marl grey wool.

BrandyAlexander · 09/01/2014 22:34

hello and welcome to delurkers and returners!Smile Thanks to all.

Anni, it's true, I would like to 'fess up to making it all up on this thread. Yes siree, it's all a figment of my imagination! Now, if you can just carry on indulging me further .....

The PS1 has arrived!!!! It's lovely! But, it's such lovely suede....I am rubbish at taking good care of bags.Blush I am now hiding up in our bedroom with the 4 bags. I need to eliminate 2 of them. The red Pashli is actually quite nice when I have my suit on. Aargh!

Ps Dry, yes the earrings are in one of the jewellery boxes!Grin

Mignonette · 09/01/2014 22:38

Novice

I have the Violet PS1 and as long as you keep it out of rain and don't drag it along the floor like I have done to my calf hair Alexa you should be alright.

Colonil and keeping it stuffed with soft cloth or tissue paper helps avoid the collapsed bag look (a major problem with the calf hair Alexa's) too.

Drywhiteplease · 09/01/2014 22:39

Novice ditch the suede! it's a nightmare waiting to happen and will end in tears.....sorry

Mignonette · 09/01/2014 22:43

Poor little PS1.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 22:46

I'm a suede ruiner denier. Keep it Novice.

I saw a bus advert today for The Wolf of Wall St, with Leonardo di Caprio. I hope it's as good as it looks.

BrandyAlexander · 09/01/2014 22:49

It's beautiful! But am afraid dry might be right. Dh bought me a suede mulberry 3 years ago and I made this face Hmm and didn't use it for a year because it was so pretty. This bag is blue and so lovely. I will spill crap on it!

Mignonette · 09/01/2014 22:57

Novice can't you not get somebody to accompany you everywhere holding an umbrella over you like Gwynnie and Beyonce do?

I am a suede enabler too.

I wish I could do that clever thing where you manage to have coffee with somebody who is then described as out of the country. I miss my brother and SIL already and if I could do that I'd be sorted. Even though I hate coffee.

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 03:37

Sorry been AWOL. Having a crisis meeting with dh re our expat lives. Big decisions need to be made.

Depending on these decisions will depend on my spring wardrobe. I will compile a wish list soon.

Birthday tomorrow so I will have some links for you all then Smile

Quick question, on Pinterest why is it I can't always see all comments?

-4 here today so I'm just rocking as many layers as I can without looking like I've gained 30lb. My missoni hat got lots of comment on the school run this morning.

Anyone else find it hard to keep warm and look chic? I love all the style blogs but I c

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 03:40

Posted too soon Blush

The bloggers look so nice but I would freeze. Even if I wear something nice it's lost under the Canada goose. sigh I'm just not able to tolerate this cold weather.

Give me sand and Melissa Odabash kaftans anyday Wink

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 04:38

I missed a whole page before I posted Blush

Welcome to all the newbies and delurkers who names have unfortunately already escaped me.

Yes it is me in the picture Smile that was back in the summer when we had the mammoth shopping trip to London before heading here.

The bag is the chanel 2.55 re issue. (It was gifted by my dh Wink) rik owens princess leather jacket and wang t. Shopping bags by selfridges Grin

[shop] flannels had some lovely Joseph dresses in the sale. I ordered three, one of which was the leathered panel one you linked too. All three went back Sad Joseph fits me so perfectly in pants and tops however the dresses looked horrendous. In fact most dresses do unless really fitted. I have a tiny waist and bigger hips so Joseph all gathered across my stomach with masses of material flapping yet was stretched as far as it would take over my hips.

James Pearse has some nice back dresses, slightly edgier looking.

I'm missing joining in with sales talk. After the major splurge in London I pretty much covered myself and dh assures me I won't need anything come tomorrow.

Until the weather gets warmer and I have to think about the new season Wink

BecauseIsaidS0 · 10/01/2014 05:13

Barbie, where is that pic?

BecauseIsaidS0 · 10/01/2014 06:44

(Sorry, that was before my morning coffee)

Barbie, could I see that pic please? Is it on your pins? I'm thinking of a 2.55 once EOY money comes in...

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 06:51

because it's my profile pintrest pic. I think I have the bag on my wardrobe board. If you can't find it I will link again Smile

LinusDKD · 10/01/2014 07:48

dry it was me who suggested that dress! I liked it too but was waiting for it to be reduced and then forgot all about it.

santa I'm ok, thanks. Just the January Blues as I mentioned before and dreading DH leaving on a business trip on Sunday evening and only coming back next Saturday lunchtime (thus missing half DS's birthday)

I should be used to him traveling but a whole week is just too much.

barbie one day I will buy a 2.55 too. I have my eye on a navy or black classic one in that grainy/mottled leather. I do get 'distracted' by all the other lovely bags that are out there. Blush

novice I am chuckling at the thought of you locked up in your bedroom with 4 bags.

If you don't want the cobalt Pashli, just give it to me. It is a bit bigger than the one I wanted but I'm sure I'll survive. Wink

Drywhiteplease · 10/01/2014 08:01

Barbie that's a brilliant photo! Says it all......Fashion in very cold weather, Hmm down filled is the only way to go with nice accessories and proper boots. It is poss but I do look huge by that stage though I don't care I would like to know if there exists a glove (apart from ski) that looks good and keeps your hands warm? I have sheepskin but still get cold fingers.

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 08:08

dry my Canada goose is meant to be warm but I still feel the cold through it. To put it in perspective I am the girl who slept with a 13.5 tog duvet while in Dubai Blush I must be a reptile Grin

AmberNectarine · 10/01/2014 08:17

Morning all!

Bloody freezing here today, feel your pain Barbie. Cashmere all the way.

Have a not very exciting day of supermarket/soft play/post Office Depot lined up. What's everyone else got planned?

Barbie1 · 10/01/2014 08:25

Hello amber if you have time could you please link me to your blog, a pm will be ok.

My day is over, just taken delievery of new tv which is voice activated and all sorts of other Korean gadgetry. Dh is in heaven!

Hope you all have a good day and jan blues stay firmly away Smile

Annianni · 10/01/2014 08:26

Morning

Dh and I have an exciting day planned of Sainsburys, maybe feed the ducks and going to assembly in the afternoon to see Ds1 receive a certificate (he is very excited)

Sleepwhenidie · 10/01/2014 08:41

I have a lovely day planned, off to Marylebone Rd to check out potential birthday presents in Matches (rockstuds are fave contender) then down to Elemis day spa for a 2hr facial and massage using a voucher I was given for my birthday last year. If I'm feeling up to it I may wander round Liberty after that, then my weekly girls only date with DD for hot choc and cupcakes Smile. Quiet one with DH tonight and out for dinner tomorrow.

Suede j brands and thick cable cashmere are the order of the day. Looks like a beautifully crisp and cold outside.

American Hustler was ok, great clothes (though how Amy Adams didn't catch a chill I'll never know, every outfit was cleavage-tastic! Grin), great music. Couldn't quite adjust to Christian Bale as fat and balding. Last half hour was much better than first hour or so. Not sure I'd recommend dashing to the cinema to see it but worth a watch. I think it suffers from not really fitting a genre...it's not a thriller yet not quite a comedy...
