A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

So you now have 4 bags (3 as yet undecided on?). Surely if it's my fault I deserve one of them?

BrandyAlexander · 08/01/2014 12:41

Ahem. YesBlush. Stop keeping track!Grin 2 of them will be going back before dh nips down to the divorce courts on his lunch break!

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 12:43

You want to find yourself a nice sugar daddy like on the Chanel thread novice - think DH would be ok with it? Wink

Get well soon QueenC

Exciting about Ascot dry - novice did Cowell look ridiculous in a penguin suit? DH went a couple of years ago and I could not stop laughing.

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 15:03

QueenC I was thinking you'd gone a bit quiet. You poor thing. Are you still in? How are you feeling?
Novice your Ascot outfit sounds wonderful. That dress is lovely. How on earth do I do comfy glam shoes? Hmm just doesn't exist. I have to wear heels and they always end up hurting but I'm hard, years of practice.
Nice bag.
I asked scary boss about taking a day off and she was fine about it, could hardly have said no, it went a bit like;
"ER, was wondering whether I could possibly take a day off, I've been invited to RA and it's my ultimate fashion dream....I've never been before....and by the way I like your new boots the really suit you"Smile creep
I know I've got 6 months Novice the thought of getting an outfit on the day brings me out in a cold sweat and I know you'll throw me off the thread, and I know this has probably never been said on MNV , and there'll be a collective gasp ...... but I may wear something I already have this could possibly be the greatest lie ever told

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/01/2014 15:08

Thanks for the Lancôme info Barbie - it does look beautiful and I can't wait to get it. Shame the launch has been put back, I want it now

QueenC Shock hope you're not in there too long, but glad you're being well looked-after

Amber I love my DH in morning dress (well, maybe 'love' is a bit strong, but..) I tracked down the most excellent vintage black silk topper for him a few years ago in its original leather box and it is perfect. He has his own tails/striped trews too, so everything fits well and looks v elegant. Reality is definitely suspended for those five days in June!

If anyone is interested in lovely days at the races but not ready to brave the Royal Ascot circus yet, I can highly recommend Glorious Goodwood at the end of July. Much more laid-back but absolutely beautiful and stylish. Any slebs you may spot will be the drool-worthy kind (ie less Sinitta/Amanda Holden, more Anna Friel, Sophie E-B, Jodie Kidd). Tis fabulous.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/01/2014 15:15

Forgot to say how Envy Envy I am at that B.E.Autiful bag Novice - perfection.

Dry by comfortable I mean broken-in. Don't even think of wearing new shoes, you'll want to amputate your own feet by 2pm. And there is nothing wrong with wearing something you already have - at least you know it suits you and provides what you want on the day. All of us trainers wives recycle our outfits regularly. A few new pieces a season and a dip into our old trusteds and we're away! I have some pieces older than my children Wink

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 15:18

Beautiful bag Novice Envy Envy

Annianni · 08/01/2014 15:19

Shoooohhhop... Are you a 30 in Goldsign? Found 3 pairs for £60 ish.

Will pin a pair, the others are from the same place.

Annianni · 08/01/2014 15:23

Pin's not working, will pm

Annianni · 08/01/2014 15:36

Get well soon Queenc Thanks

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 16:09

Anni you are the jean queen.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/01/2014 16:16

I've just seen on Pink Peonies today that she's wearing my first-choice sweater from the other day. I really wanted a snake print sweater and the Shane was my fave, but at $120 cheaper I ended up buying the Sloane. Still like the one I've got, but gotta love the Shane.

Oh, and halleluia! finally got an email from AR to say my order has been despatched. Hooray!

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 16:17

She certainly is Dry. I just need to get misery guts DS off my lap so I can take a look.

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 16:40

Grumpy just get liberty to knit you a black tank top to wear over your jumper Grin

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 16:41

Home alone tonight as DP is away with work again. Cat's on my knee and we are fantasy shopping Grin

QueenCadbury · 08/01/2014 16:49

Hello, I'm home now. Just knackered and smelly (my bed was by a radiator so I was ridiculously hot overnight and I didn't fancy a hospital shower!).

amber that thread is hilarious!

dry so excited for you. I would absolutely wear something you already have if you feel fabulous in it. Unless of course you find something that you feel more fabulous in.

Annianni · 08/01/2014 16:53

I aim to please Dry Wink

Sleep, are you there?
Or anyone who knows about exercise...

I started doing my exercise bike last week properly, did about 50 miles over the 7 days.
This week, I'm managing 20 miles a day Shock

Plus eating better/more mindfully.

Now the exercise bike computer thing equates 20 miles to approx 750 calories burnt.

Is that about right?

And if yes, how much weight per week am I (hopefully) looking to lose?

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 17:02

Have you been reading that thread too QueenC? Clearly, Amber is a massive bitch dontcha know Wink

libertychick · 08/01/2014 17:10

Anni one lb in weight is 3,500 cals approx. so that is 1.5lbs per week if you do every day!! Sleep will probably have a much more scientific way of doing it.

QueenC hope you are feeling better.

Dry Envy at Ascot invite - how exciting Smile

Anni can you pm me the link to the £60 goldsigns too pleeeesssseeee???

My AR order has finally dispatched....

Annianni · 08/01/2014 17:20

Pm sent Liberty.

Dh got that amount whilst googling, but other sites said other things.

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 17:22

That's the amount I heard it was on a radio program that DP was listening to the other day Anni

libertychick · 08/01/2014 17:23

I do think it's approximate Anni and it will also depend on what you are eating, your metabolism, other activity etc.

Dry what's the name/brand of the implement you have for sorting out snagged threads on jumpers - my Cos linen jumper has a few pulls and I NEED to fix them?

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 17:24

yes don't snip them Liberty! Grin. Like I did.
