After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

Am thinking of booking a consultation for Damon clear braces or Invisalign ... The 0% finance is do tempting
My sister had Invisalign and it's made such a difference to her face.

Private orthodontist consultation alone costs £75 though...

Also has anyone had semi permanent make up done on eyebrows? Mine have a few "gaps" and would like them to look fuller (I already dye them and ask threading lady to let them grow a bit thicker but to no avail). Also I am shit at eyebrow pencil and always rub it off all over my face!

JemimaMuddledUp · 02/01/2014 15:10

A friend of mine did the 365 photo challenge last year. During the year she lost around 4 stone in weight. She put all the photos onto a video and uploaded it to Facebook on New Year's Eve, it really was amazing to watch the changes.

I love handbags too, my favourite shop for them is TKMaxx. I got a lovely Fiorelli one from there before Christmas reduced to £25.

My DM came round today, lovely to see her but I'm sure the DC are far noisier when she is here! She has just left so I have sent the DC out to play on their bikes for half an hour to run off steam before it starts getting dark. We also need to tackle homework, which we have been putting off all holidays.

Updated list:

Ta Da
Showered, hair washed and styled.
Face hot cloth cleansed, moisturised and a bit of make up (light foundation, mascara and lip gloss) applied.
Dressed (straight leg jeans, black jersey top, grey cable cardi, navy star print scarf)
Healthy breakfast (porridge and raspberries) eaten and logged on MFP.
Water drunk and vitamins taken.
One load of washing washed and hung/tumbled.
Fridge cleaned out ready for Tesco delivery
Downstairs toilet/utility cleaned
Bathroom cleaned
Tidied up shoes and coat racks in hallway.
Applied handcream after all the cleaning.
Put Tesco shop away.
Put my Meal Plan into the Fly Lady app.
Phoned salon to book Shellac for Saturday.
Phoned Tax Credits to update details of new job.
Made everyone lunch - using up leftovers from New Year so lots of meats and cheeses. I was good though, limited my cheese consumption and filled my plate up with apple, grapes and celery. Although I did eat some malteasers Blush
Emptied rubbish and recycling bins.
Washed dishes.
Cleaned out one kitchen cupboard (everything out, out of date stuff thrown, shelves wiped, good stuff put back).

Everyone else is having spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and salad for supper, but I think I'll have soup.

I'm going to try to find time to do a 30 minute yoga DVD this evening. Taking it gently because of my trapped nerve, but most yoga postures are OK if taken gently.

The courier has just been to deliver my new season Next Directory, so am now going to sit down with a cup of peppermint tea and flick through it. I got excited when I saw him pull up as I am waiting for a delivery from M&S (skirt and boots for work from the sale) but it wasn't that Sad.

HelgatheHairy · 02/01/2014 15:41

So my Ta Da list so far

Showered
Face cleansed & moisturised
Teeth brushed
On my 4th pint of water
Dressed! (Trackies & hoody but it's not pjs so I'm happy)

I'm looking for recommendations for an eye cream. I have dark circles (not surprising with 4.5 month old DD!) but no real wrinkles yet so want to hold them off as long as possible.

I wish I could get the next catalogue - it's not available here in Ireland. I love flicking through catalogues.

OP posts:
JemimaMuddledUp · 02/01/2014 16:59

I use Superdrug Vitamin E eye cream, mainly because I like matching products and I really love the hot cloth cleanser. I am 35 and I don't have many wrinkles yet. Unfortunately the few I have got worse when I lost weight, they do say when you get to a certain age you have to choose between your bum and your face!

Pigsinablanket · 02/01/2014 18:11

jemima do you mind me asking how you got the fly lady app?i can't seem to find it but have heard it mentioned loads on here

JemimaMuddledUp · 02/01/2014 19:16

I got it from Play store, it was free. I just searched for Fly Lady and it was the top result.

30 mins of yoga done, am now having a five minute hide upstairs from the DC. Enjoying the peace and quiet.

Karbea · 02/01/2014 20:53

Evening all,

Puppy is an American cocker spaniel. Will try and upload a picture when I get a sec.
Everyone's been so good :)

I've been pretty good too, kept to the diet, scrubbed moisturised, dressed nicely, wore matching undies etc.

I want to upload my initial list to the fb group and then I can monitor progress a bit easily. Will try and do that tomorrow from the proper computer.

I ordered some jeans, jumper, vitamins today, oh and a new paleo cookbook.

HelgatheHairy · 02/01/2014 20:59

Unfortunately I don't have superdrug. I keep hearing great things about their vit E range.

karbea Puppy sounds gorgeous. I love spaniels. What paleo cookbook did you order? I have lots of paleo recipes pinned on Pinterest but haven't done anything with them yet!

OP posts:
Karbea · 02/01/2014 21:10

Re eye creams, I'm older than you but I'm currently using eyesilix which is good, but I think I need something more hardcore, so, could be could for you.
I think I'm going to get the pericone md or Lancôme one next.

smellylittleorange · 02/01/2014 22:32

yes yes to Tkmaxx I rather like this one but overrbudget

also John Lewis had some nice red ones in recently.

All this princessing is making me do more housework..how does that work?

Off for a bath, hairwash and quick manicure before I put washing out and go to bed!

lucysmam · 02/01/2014 22:57

Grin smelly it's 'cos you want your house to look nice too!!

I've cut all my nails right down, three broke this afternoon so have given up on them, will paint with neutral polish over the next day or two.

I think the water is different here to at our old house, my hair looks much neater and frizz free even when just blow dried Confused .

Just basics here tonight (shower, exfoliate, moisturise, face cleansed & moisturised.) I pinched a squirt of dd1's excema cream too...seem to have a lurverly patch of bright red dry skin next to my left eye Hmm look like I've spent a week sobbing & wiping at it!

Mil has washed me some of my smart jumpers so should feel a bit better in the morning to crack on with some more sorting & nip to the pet shop for a flea collar and treatment (we're adopting the stray cat that came with the house - have built it a little house to shelter in outside if we're not in Grin Just need to top with roofing felt & treat the sides against the elements)

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 03/01/2014 07:04

Drank 2 litres of water yesterday
Cleaned, toned, moisturised last night
Exfoliate, body butter, and put make-up on before breakfast

ControlGeek · 03/01/2014 08:34

  • sunscreen & moisturising done before going out
  • resisted too much crap at the movies with DD1 & friend
  • walk this afternoon
  • salad for dinner (not that I was able to eat much)
  • night cream, eye cream, bio oil before bed
  • plenty of water

Going to a barbecue at DH's aunt's tomorrow, so shall have to attempt to bring my hair under control in the morning.

Night all Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 03/01/2014 09:31

I have developed an enormous spot on my chin that I am trying desperately not to pick as I want it gone by Monday when I start my new job. Why didn't it come out over Christmas when I was eating rubbish, instead it come out now when I am eating more healthily!

I am going to have soup for lunch and couscous with roasted veg and feta for dinner.

I am also going to stalk the front door in wait for any passing couriers as I am really hoping my skirt and boots come today so that I have them for when I start the job.

Have a good day everyone!

Sort out paperwork mountain

JemimaMuddledUp · 03/01/2014 11:16

Aaargh! Just had an email from M&S saying the order that was scheduled to be delivered by today has been delayed and will now be delivered by January 12th. When nobody will be home to accept it as we will all be at work or school Sad.

In the order was a pair of boots for work, which I was relying on having before Monday. I have to walk half a mile to the bus stop then another half mile up a very steep hill from the bus to my office, then the same in reverse on the way home. All of my smart shoes have too high a heel to do this, especially as the trapped nerve in my back makes my right foot numb. So I ordered these ones (a week ago!) as they have a lower heel and supportive soles. I tried some on in Clarks but they were too wide.

Once I've been there a while I may well wear trainers to walk to work and keep proper shoes in the office. But I want to make a good impression on my first day and I don't think turning up in trainers is the way to do this!

I'm tempted to go into town today and have another look in Clarks, but it will mean dragging the DC with me plus apparently a good chunk of the town centre is closed because of the tidal surge.

Damn you M&S! Angry

lucysmam · 03/01/2014 11:48

Morning ish all Smile

Ta-da so far....

cleansed and moisturised face

(have done some bits about the house too!)

to do.....

EVERYTHING ELSE!!

Am taking dd1 for a mooch in town after lunch to get a net for the front window & flea treatment for our small furry friend just in case. Best actually get dressed first though!

Dilidali · 03/01/2014 14:33

In my confused daze I filled a glass of water, drunk it and spent till now wondering what's missing. Err, the viramins are missing, that's why I filled the glass!!! Only took me 4 hours.
My dress arrived, it is beautiful and simple and hides all my sins!!!

Been doing the plank/squat/abdo challenge: I hurt, properly hurt, no ache, pain!!!
Amazing!!!!
Put the christmas stuff away, tree included, it is in the garden, it might fly soon!!! The weather is bad!!!

Off to tidy and dust bedrooms and wash the front door (been slacking with the fly lady lately).

Then bath in peace and quiet, the clan is at the cinema.
Back to the treadmill next week :)

livinginhope87 · 03/01/2014 14:39

Hello, please can I join?

I recently had ds and already have a dd so life feels a bit hectic at the moment. I would like to

Drink more - I only manage a cuppa a day at the moment.
Cleanse and apply moisturiser morning and evening.
Paint nails always feel better when I have.
Get hair cut and under control - think caveman hair at the moment.
Look in to supplements and getting colours done.
Dress for me.

Challenge myself to enjoy life more - any good mantras?
Enjoy this time rather than trying to rush through the day.

getoffthephonenoworelse · 03/01/2014 15:10

hi everyone, still enjoying the thread. I have kept up cleansing and mositurising night and morning over the festive season but my hands look like they have been left in the deep freeze overnight, all red and scaley. I went into lidl yesterday and bought a few of the cien sos hand concentrate and have left one at the computer, one in the sitting room, kitchen, at side of bed etc. this should inspire me to apply it more than fortnightly I hope. this thread really motivates me, I started the shred before Christmas and have let it slide but when they all get out from under my feet next Monday I will be back jumping with Gillian. I am at least 3.5 stone overweight so I really want to knuckle down and lose some. I found the shred did tone me up around my waist so I know it works. can anyone suggest a mp3 or whatever that is really easy to work and load songs onto , I am a real technophobe and even thought the dcs say they will load something on I want to be able to do it myself. I am willing to spend at least £50, or is that too little? this would motivate me to take the dog for a walk a couple of times a week rather than making an excuse that it is too cold. dh takes him most days,
I am also watching another thread on credit crunch about not buying clothes for a year (apart from the essentials like underwear, socks etc). this is another thing I want to do, wear everything I own rather than spending my hard earned dosh on clothes I don't need. this should make me feel better about myself, as I feel guilty when I see the delivery men coming up the lane. they know my name, dhs and dcs. even the dog wags his tail when he sees them...they visit way too often .

JemimaMuddledUp · 03/01/2014 16:23

getoff my DD (aged 7) bought herself this mp3 player with some of her Christmas money. DS1(11) has taught her how to upload tracks to it by herself, although to be fair her taste doesn't go much further than One Direction at the moment! But it is hugely reduced and seems very good for the price.

I am breathing a huge sigh of relief as my shoe crisis has been averted. I saw some work suitable shoes in the Clarks sale earlier this week, but didn't get them as I knew my M&S boots were supposed to be on their way. As the M&S order is delayed I rang Clarks to see if they were still in stock. They were, and although they aren't supposed to put sale stock away she agreed to put them to one side for me (I must have sounded desperate!). So DH is going to pick them up for me after work. I already have the same style in teal suede, so they should fit and be comfy.

Pollywallywinkles · 03/01/2014 17:42

Supplements have been taken daily so far. Water consumption is up. Have started some excercise including planking and inflating my gym ball. Long walk with the dog yesterday. It will just be a routine walk tonight as the weather is foul.

Hands have been moisturised and are looking much better all ready. I picked up some Elizabeth Arden stuff in Boots at a steal and I have to say that the hand cream is really working miracles for me, along with the stinky 8 hour cream which I used on my hands overnight.
