After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

Sorry all for being MIA again. Despite the fact it was DDs christening yesterday I got NOTHING done beforehand due to being too busy. Had a lovely day though, she cried all through the church (which was just family) but behaved beautifully when we went for Sunday lunch. I wore this dress with navy tights and navy flats. Was not happy with flats but I couldn't find ANYTHING else.

10 weeks until we go to New York and I have a to do list

  • get hair cut and coloured (think I'm just going to have it cut just below my shoulders, it's currently almost bra strap length) not sure whether to do something with the colour or just get my natural colour done)
  • have a facial - my skin is terrible
  • have a manicure - my nails are actually in ok condition but very uneven lengths
  • have a pedicure as I cannot paint my toenails neatly!
  • lose 7 pounds.

That's a nice dress Helga. All you want to do is certainy achievable, so that is good.

I've restrained myself from eating nuts today. If I'm not doing the required amount of exercise, I will have to look at what I'm eating and cut back a little. I was working at home today and the jeans that I was wearing were somewhat uncomfortable.

I need to continue to do something about the lack of exercise along with up things a bit with my hands (nails in particular).

StyleOverSubstance · 03/03/2014 18:55

So - no-one else going to do a mid-term report of their progress? just me? Was wondering how everyone else going on in relation to where they thought they would be by this stage.

vvviola · 03/03/2014 19:50

I'm doing better with my skin care than I thought. My skin looks great, I don't leave the house without doing my morning routine, even the bags aroundy eyes are better. I'm also doing pretty well with my makeup - new makeup that I can put on easily, suits me and stays on.

Hair is actually improving too (or will be after it recovers from the camping) and I have a voucher for a haircut at a salon near me that I'll probably use next week.

Weight is a disaster. Just keeps piling on. And 5:2 hasn't worked because DH has been home with bronchitis but wasn't actually sick enough to stay in bed, so kept wanting to go out for lunch or breakfast or coffee. Photos from the weekend away were horrendous. Sad. Restarting today and not letting DH sidetrack me anymore.

Haven't attempted clothes yet really - waiting to loose some weight and to see if I get a job. Shorts and tshirt or smer dresses are fine for the school run anyway.

I'd give myself a C+ overall Grin

vvviola · 04/03/2014 06:40

Eek! I have an interview on Thursday and no time to get to the hairdresser before then.

(It's an admin job, part time and DH is making noises about not jumping at the first job I'm offered and being bored and miserable. He doesn't realise just how miserable I am without a job)

GeorginaWorsley · 04/03/2014 07:21

Haven't been on thread but have been trying to lose weight, get fitter, etc since Xmas.
So
Joined aerobics class with a friend, now I hated exercise for years and didn't really want to go, but went along with the idea and now 8 weeks on love it!
it has inspired be to do 30 day shred, buy hand weights, drink less wine Blush
I have lost around 3 to 4 kg so far and feel so much better.
Don't have loads to lose, probably another 3 kg,but I love how my wobbly upper arms are improving and muffin top disappearing!
Because i feel better mentally im sleeping better, and def eating healthier so skin looking clearer and not as grey!
IV always done make up and hair so that's ok.
Keep up good work ladies!

lucysmam · 04/03/2014 08:53

Morning ladies Smile

Mid term report hmmm...

Hair - desperately needs cut and colour but intensive conditioner every Sunday & regular straightening so doesn't look too bad.
Nails - breakages everywhere still Sad but am using hand cream more.
Skin - actually not bad! Sunday night facial seems to be doing some good & the suitcases under my eyes have vanished for now. Managing a full face of make up every day & getting up half hour early so I'm not rushing doing it.
Diet - could be better. Too much Wine and sweet stuff.
Exercise - walk at least three miles x5days a week.
Wardrobe - major overhaul needed, most of it makes me feel very meh.

All in all, not doing too badly. Things like hair & wardrobe are dependent on £££ & there's not much spare atm. Diet is all down to me, I have a very sweet tooth Blush

I'm off to town & to pay the bills, will check back later on. Have a good day Smile

46 DAYS TO GO

lucysmam · 04/03/2014 09:40

I'm back, sat down with a Brew so thought I'd catch up on others' posts!

Helga is that the dress you weren't sure what to wear with?

vvv good luck! Would an intensive hair treatment & serum help your hair?

lucysmam · 04/03/2014 09:43

Dilidali how's packing going? I couldn't manage to just pack a few mix & match bits Confused Your new sandals sound good though. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can break out my flip flops and sandals Grin (and bright orange nail polish)

lucysmam · 04/03/2014 09:44

Georgina good going! I started doing the shred but sort of gave up Blush . Ought to get a blind up at the window then I could give it another whirl.

GeorginaWorsley · 04/03/2014 12:34

Grin at lucysmam

It will be worth it!
Am going to do intensive hair condition later, and having manicure ,pedicure and brows done on Thursday .

StyleOverSubstance · 04/03/2014 18:47

Nice to see that although there are some areas to improve (aren't there always?), by and large we have done well with our renovations - well done us!

vvviola · 05/03/2014 10:23

I've an overnight treatment on my hair lucysmam so hopefully that will help. I'm going to get the straighteners to it in the morning and if that doesn't work, I'll just re-wet it and put it in a bun. Not the most flattering but should keep it under control with a lot bit of hairspray at least long enough for the interview.

Thanks to this thread I'm at least pretty put together in other ways so I shouldn't disgrace myself! Grin

45 DAYS TO GO

Pollywallywinkles · 05/03/2014 19:08

I've walked every day this week. I'm now getting out at lunchtime when I'm office based. So that is a start in the right direction! Not before time.

Hair treatment and soak in the bath tonight and nail paint if I have enough time.

lucysmam · 05/03/2014 20:52

vvv, if I'm right about time-zones-ish you're well ahead of us & it's Thursday already soooo GOOD LUCK Thanks ! Let us know how you (and your hair) get on.

lucysmam · 05/03/2014 20:53

I've gone half on strike tonight (hair is dried and straightened and moisturised after shower though).

smellylittleorange · 05/03/2014 21:10

HI all,

Am back from hols - weight loss is rubbish I have lost grand total of 3lbs since christmas with all I put on before hols ( bizarrely only put a pound on on an all inclusive). Hair is in good condition but needs a dye - exercise has been upped and I no longer feel unbearable sad and depressed.

I have done a fast day today and hoping just to get on with that two days a week. All my colleagues are back from their various trips down under so full complement in office hopefully means less stress.

So starting again then ! Im rubbish !!

smellylittleorange · 05/03/2014 21:12

..have come back and booked holiday to Crete end of August . I can't face another holiday being size 16

43 DAYS TO GO

sugar4eva · 07/03/2014 14:57

Help ! Just seen this thread ! Need to do this!
How do you do an overnight intensive thing for hair and feet please!
And a facial at home!
Will start to exercise today I promise and make appt to have brows and nails done!
How on earth do you make feet look good ! Can't ready afford reg pedicure! It may be too much info but my skin on my feet loo k s sort of yellow in tone! Hang nails! And the nails almost look dirty tho they are most def not! They are like hobbit feet oh help!:0

sugar4eva · 07/03/2014 15:00

Also any morning routine suggestions and what is princes sing ; I need to catch up! ;)

vvviola · 07/03/2014 20:08

Sugar4eva - in relation to the feet, when mine get really bad like after the winter or if I've been really broke busy, I splash out for a really good pedicure (sometimes I think they call it a 'medical pedicure') and then I can keep on top of them after that without needing regular pedicures. Might that be an option for you?

Guys - I've run out of moisturiser! This has never happened before! Usually I lose it, or throw it out because it has been around for decades. Problem is, I was using a lovely No7 Lift and Luminate Day Cream. And it isn't available here.

Any advice on a good 'big brand' (Nivea etc etc) moisturiser? Preferably with SPF.
