After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

Evening ladies...Wine o'clock

vvv how did your interview go?! I hope it's good news. I quite like Olay moisturisers, when I can afford them or Simple. Not sure about the spf though - I know the Olay ones with a "touch of foundation" have an spf.

sugar I usually use Aussie three minute miracle on my hair on a Sunday night (goes on for three mins while I defuzz in the shower & smells like bubblegum...lush!). I've never tried an overnight treatment though. Coconut oil is supposed to be good, maybe start a thread in s&b about it though - been a long time since I used it.

Wrt your feet, it's probably worth spending on a proper pedi just as a one off; then weekly pumice, file toenails (different file to fingers though), polish and moisturise then put socks on overnight (or for a few hours in front of the telly) should have beautiful feet in no time.

Control !!!! that is all Grin

lucysmam · 07/03/2014 20:21

smelly I am Envy of your hols! How many fast days are you doing? I think I might think about doing 5:2, more because I've noticed over the past few days I'm eating shed loads more than usual - TWO lidl snickers before picking dd1 up from school this afternoon Shock

lucysmam · 07/03/2014 20:31

Polly where are you walking to if you're office based? Is it getting easier?

Now I'm caught up in epic-multi-post-fashion Grin ...We've had a proper knock this afternoon. Our LL's LL is being laid off in June so if they can't get a second mortgage on their rental they're going to put this place on the market...so looks like we're back to saving & househunting again Sad God knows what we're going to do tbh, we haven't got enough for another bond/agent fees and no way of getting a deposit together for this place.

I bought a new eyeliner, mascara and bronzer yesterday. Must get my brows done soon. Hair's probably going to be a diy job now. Nails are growing back nicely so will have to file them so they all match over the weekend. Orange nail polish is coming out this weekend I think, at least on my toes.

Right, off to get the oldest to bed...softplay hell party tomorrow so should make for an easy ish day.

Have a nice weekend all Smile

Dilidali · 07/03/2014 21:23

Hello ladies!
Oh, no, lucysmum, that is a nightmare! Hope you get it sorted soon!

Been having some rubbish days myself, but at least it's the weekend.
The plan is to be outside the whole Sunday, get some vit d! 17 degrees and not a cloud in the sky!!!!
Nearly time to get the 'spring collection' out (it's on average about 5 years old!!!). Been thinking of a 33 items spring wardrobe too, slow but sure progress there.

Been moisturising my feet every night and scrubbing them with pumice daily. Still no nail varnish on, I'm letting them breathe.

vvv, I only use Olay. It has spf 15 and I'm quite dark, might be worth topping with some sunblock though for NZ, the hole above you is nasty. How did you interview go? I did think of you and wished you luck :)

sugar, I do what Lucy does, but no aussie hair treatment, I use argan oil.

Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

Pollywallywinkles · 07/03/2014 22:34

Lucy, When I'm in the office, I either walk around the block or walk to the supermarket although that is a bit too far to get there, shop and get back in 30 mins. It's easier to have a lunch break in the office as others are having a break as well. When I'm working at home I tend not to have a break as I have lots of mini breaks durning the day to put washing on, get it out and other small domestic chores which I recon take about 30 mins during the course of the day.

StyleOverSubstance · 08/03/2014 00:12

42 DAYS TO GO

vvviola · 08/03/2014 07:44

Hmmm might take a look at the Olay. Thanks Dilidali and Lucysmam. I always think of it as for "older" people as my Mum used to use it (back when it was still Oil of Ulay or something) but it has just occurred to me that when my Mum used it she was the same age as I am now Blush Blush

Interview went well I think - I suspect it will depend on who the other 4 candidates were (5 people going for 2 job-share jobs) and whether she believed my work-life balance stuff. I did at least look nicely groomed and had dug out a nice scarf and matching jewellery ... all thanks to you lot Grin

lucysmam · 08/03/2014 09:39

Aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!! Spending the early hours of Saturday morning nit-combing and treating because dd1 got up complaining of an itchy head is oh so very NOT what I had plannedConfused (neither was sweeping up about half the box of shreddies from the floor where dd2 tried to pour her brekky without my help). Tis gunna be a looooooong day I think!

Time for Brew before I find myself something soft play compatible to wear (as in not super duper skinny jeans) in-case I have to climb for dd2, & get the girls sorted.

Have run out of vitamins, not entirely sure whether to replace or not. On the one hand, the couple of quid not spent would be good but on the other, it's such a small amount it'd probably be absorbed into whatever else we spend anyway.

Off to put the kettle on and make a brew. Have a nice day everyone Smile

sugar4eva · 08/03/2014 14:45

Thankyou all ! Have been inspired ! Have home dye on foaming feet! Have foot mask and nail file and cuticle oil and brow dye!

JemimaMuddledUp · 08/03/2014 17:19

Oh my goodness I need to get back on top of this. Just revisited my list at the start of this thread and am rolling with laughter - I am failing miserably at most of them!

lucysmam · 08/03/2014 20:59

vvv I always think of Olay as an 'older' person product too but they're actually really nice IMO! I do like their tinted moisturiser for daytime, looks very natural but still covers blemishes which is good.

Sugar that sounds like a good start to me! It gets easier once things become normal routine, honest Smile

Jemima ...long time no see, are you ok?

I repeatedly nit-combed the girls this morning so they could go to the softplay party (only found a few first time round though)...have hedrin-ed them overnight in case of any strays but I don't think there are since I combed them through again before the hedrin and only found one. Dp has combed through my mop and found nothing but will get him to check again tomorrow just in case.

I'm starting a thorough declutter and clean up from Monday so fb group members may find there are random pics up if they cba to comment.

(am off for a mucky kebab now...anniversary treat from dp Grin yum!)

Dilidali · 08/03/2014 22:58

Isn't it funny, I didn't use moisturisers till I moved to a very hard water area. Didn't need it, I was young. Then my skin turned to parchment, it was so dry, I tried everything and the best I found was olay. I never knew it was something the older generation favoured, it just worked and I stuck to what I knew it worked. :)

StyleOverSubstance · 09/03/2014 00:23

41 DAYS TO GO

Pollywallywinkles · 09/03/2014 08:58

How on earth did we get to 41 days? It's going too fast!

StyleOverSubstance · 09/03/2014 11:17

Know what you mean Polly, know what you mean! I suspect another challenge will be in order. Feel cheated of a whole month as we spent pretty much all of January ill :(

Plus, once weather picks up and it is longer days and lighter evenings, always feel more encouraged to diet and get outdoors to do some walking, so will kick-start everything this coming week.

I will be starting again after Easter I think as after looking at my list, posted at the beginning of the thread and then doing my mid-term report there is a big gap in some areas between what is and what should be!

StyleOverSubstance · 09/03/2014 11:19

sorry Polly - meant to 'bold' your name, not italicise.

StyleOverSubstance · 09/03/2014 11:22

just noticed Jemima nice to see you back again, how are you?

Pollywallywinkles · 09/03/2014 17:18

I think another challenge will be in order too!

I need to look back to what I set out to achieve as I can't remember all of it, but I think I'm just failing on my nails and exercise.

Pollywallywinkles · 09/03/2014 17:26

I've upped my beauty regime with weekly or bi weekly scrubs and masks. I've also re introduced body brushing and scrubs. So think I've passed that one.

I've done ok with the hand cream, but not so good with the weekly manicure. I've managed to file nails on a regular basis but have not been so good with using nail polish. I guess I've half done this one.

I got back to normal eating after Christmas and managed a detox for a month, so that's a definate pass.

No new clothes for all of January and perhaps longer was a definate pass.

Passed not buying new products until I have ran out.

Ummm now the exercise bit. I can only conclude that I am failing this miserably especially since my dog died.

I obviously now need to focus on nails and exercise!

JemimaMuddledUp · 09/03/2014 17:53

I'm good thanks, I've just been really busy with the new job. I've been popping in from time to time to keep up with everyone's news, but don't have time to post properly.

The sunshine is making me feel motivated again though. I have put a bit of weight on in my new job as it involves a lot more sitting down than my old one. So I am trying to tweak my food intake to match it. My skin is also rubbish at the moment, probably due to my excessive consumption of biscuits.

I have given up clothes shopping for Lent too, so am working hard on creating interesting new outfits out of what I already have in my wardrobe. This is also an incentive not to put on any more weight as I'm not allowed to buy any bigger clothes!

The plan for tomorrow:
Breakfast - Natural Yoghurt, blueberries, half a banana, handful of granola.
Walk from bus stop to office (roughly 1 mile).
Go for a walk at lunchtime (around a mile, I only have 30 mins lunchbreak so can't go too far).
Lunch - Tuna nicoise salad. Lots of protein and veg.
Snacks - goji berries, apples. Definitely no biscuits. Drink herbal tea.
Walk from office to bus stop.
Dinner - Tomato and lentil soup with seeded bread.

I will be healthy and slim with glowing skin. Probably Wink

Gnomi · 09/03/2014 19:37

That menu looks great Jemima. Sorry you're having such a stressful weekend Lucy. I think you're doing OK, Polly. Hello to everyone else!

I've been a bit AWOL for a week or so, sorry. This thread is definitely helping me be a bit more polished and put together. I've given up chocolate and biscuits for Lent, so that should help with the weight. Otherwise, food and exercise are ok, but I'm being much better at looking polished - make-up, hair done, decent clothes etc.

Wore my new dress to work last week and my Year 11s all complimented me Smile.

I now need to find some casual clothes to buy this month. I'm thinking Oasis again, they have some lovely stuff in.

40 DAYS TO GO

Pollywallywinkles · 10/03/2014 19:14

Home manicure this afternoon, so nails are looking half decent.

Went into the city today as I had a day's leave. I came back empty handed, which is good as I'm on a spending freeze, but I had wanted (needed) a new eyeliner and the one I wanted wasn't in stock.

Had a lovely lunch out.

Pollywallywinkles · 10/03/2014 19:15

And there was lots of walking!
