After the brilliant success of our Christmas Countdown Princessing thread I'm starting a new thread to take us to Easter. From 1st Jan it's 108 days so there will be a countdown to this days.

This idea stems from the original princessing threads but has evolved to accommodate all aspects of beautifying, beauty, clothes, diet, exercise etc.

What we like to do is a list of what your planning on doing and working through it.

Links to follow.

sorry to hear about impetigo Lucysmam bet its the playdough, homemade nursery playdough is a fan source of contamination

dilidali I have noticed all the best stuff in the charity shops are size ten or twelve which is kind of a motivation for me I love a bargain!

Dilidali · 30/01/2014 21:39

Hi style! Sorry it's been a rough few weeks.

Ok, drawing a line under the first month, let's see:

Morning:
Shower/defuzz, teeth, moisturise, make up on, clothes from the night before. Breakfast still at work, but I have hit water and lemon with my vitamins before I set off.

Evening:
Shower, moisturise, plank/abdo/sit ups challenge.

Weekly:
Manicure/pedicure, eyebrows.
Pilates and swimming.
I also started 5:2.
One treat for myself alone (be it reading a book, exhibition, coffee with a friend)
Thought of the week (I think of a motto, or an issue/improvement i can make in my behaviour/attitude).

I'm nearly there with my 33 project for the 'spring collection' Grin. I bought the missing 'piece' today, my shoes, I need a skirt and I am done. In my 33 items I didn't count the lounge wear and the gym/pilates/swim equipment.

Sorry if I am boring you, but it will help me clarify what I've been doing.
I thought of the occasions: work, social, day and evening.
I have as follows:
One black, one white vest.
One linen t-shirt.
One black t shirt-long sleeves,
one forest long sleeves-boat neck.
One white shirt.
One grey, one navy cashmere jumpers.
One jersey blazer.
4 dresses, two of them are black/navy, can be worn in the evening.
One black skirt.
Tan sandals
Wedges.
Boots.
One pair of velvet trousers.
One pair of jeans.
One taupe cashmere cardigan to work with all the dresses.
One denim skirt.
One leather biker jacket.
A mac.
3 bras, 6 knickers.
Cashmere leggings

I have one more item to add, a skirt.

I didn't add the socks, scarves or jewellery pieces. I cheated big time, partly because I have no idea what I am doing, really, it is my first attempt, I don't have a perfectly clear idea of what I am using. December was not a good month to start, with all the parties/outfits/ocassions etc

I will try and further fine tune in the summer, hopefully by next winter I'll get better at it. :)

Dilidali · 30/01/2014 21:41

Oh, and I've been doing some serious walking every week :)

Hi orange, sorry it's been a rough month for you as well :(

And apologies for the epic post Blush

lucysmam · 30/01/2014 21:59

Back again...feel more human tonight

Have showered, exfoliated all over (avoided the scabby bits), shaved legs and underarms (still have scabs in my bikini line - think the couple of ingrowing hairs I had must have got infected ), moisturised but not my face - unsure about whether the scent in my current cream might make the itch worse Confused.

Top lip needs doing tomorrow now the scab under my nose is pretty much gone.

Am having one more night of ignoring my hair but will be back on it tomorrow now my head's healed up too. Debating the mn haircut but not sure whether it'll just look worse Hmm

Control how are things going with you?

Helga is your DH feeling ok now?

Dilidali that's an impressive list! I quite like the idea of the clothing challenge thing - is it 33 mix&match pieces kind of thing? I think that's something I could do with. Have hung only what I actually wear since moving & there isn't that much really.

(back in a mo....off to read further back because I can't remember who posted what Blush )

lucysmam · 30/01/2014 22:05

Style it sounds like Jan has been a tough month, hopefully Feb will be better & you'll get back on track!

How about adding something to the porridge to liven it up a bit? cocoa powder to make it chocolatey, banana, golden syrup, blueberries? Or homemade pancakes & fruit? Or something along the lines of scrambled egg on toast? I quite like natural yogurt with blueberries sometimes too Smile

lucysmam · 30/01/2014 22:12

orange It probably is from nursery...just odd that I showed it first though & dd2 doesn't have half as many splotches of it as I do Hmm

It sounds like you're having a rough time too...January blues maybe? This time of year's horrible...it's dark/cloudy/rainy yukkyness. Can you get a bit of time out to yourself & do something you want to? Or treat yourself to something small to lift your spirits a bit? Hopefully it's just a 'meh' feeling that'll pass Thanks

lucysmam · 30/01/2014 22:13

That was a tad epic! Grin

Dilidali, there was something I wanted to ask you & I can't remember for the life of me what it was!Confused

Right, half hour with my book & bedtime. Sleep well all Smile

HelgatheHairy · 30/01/2014 22:34

Hi all.

control thanks for keeping up with the countdown. How are you feeling?
lucysmam glad you feel more human!

I have a very whingy/whingey?? little girl. She's started teething and has given up on sleep.

I've an eyebrow thread (and lip wax) booked for Saturday. I'm so excited! Will hopefully get my hair sorted in a week or two as well now DD is going longer between feeds.

I have an outbreak of big painful spots along my jawline. Need to try and get healthier - recommitting to all this on 3rd Feb.

DH is fine again and has finally agreed to go for an eye test. He's working constantly with two computer monitors so wondering if eye strain might be a factor.

Dilidali I've spent 30 mins pinning capsule wardrobes on Pinterest but I've a feeling that's as organised as I get!

Morning all. I weighed myself this morning, 10 pounds gone since 12 Jan. My clothes are looking less like overstuffed sausages which is good. I still haven't restarted the planning as I just can't find a convenient minute but I've managed to keep up most of the other routines

StyleOverSubstance · 31/01/2014 11:56

Morning all (but only just!! as now near dinner time). thanks for all the suggestions for brekky items, will definitely be trying some - as they say variety is the spice of life and for messages of support.

Yesterday a total disaster, DS1 went on his first school trip and had an accident, so had to take him to hospital with head injury. Never a good sign when you arrive on the playground to pick up your DCs and there are teachers and various people waiting for you to take you in the building where your DS is sat covered in blood with a big bandage around his head.

Got seen fairly quickly as it was head injury, but whilst there DD1 fainted and banged her head and has a bruised cheek where she bumped on something on the way down (not keen on sight of blood and stress of little brother being hurt/warm room got too much). So have got all of them at home today (again) as other DC upset at other two being injured and refused to go to school.

Am shattered as didn't sleep well as kept checking everyone all right during the night. Honestly, you couldn't make this stuff up could you? So have been at hospital every day this week for one reason or another except today where I am most definitely planning on staying at home, safe!

Anyway, will be starting again tomorrow, but will keep with the number of days we have running on thread so it doesn't get too confusing and will probably end up over-running the challenge as will see what progress I have made by the end of the official countdown.

Love the sound of Dilidalis 333 wardrobe, sounds like a really workable collection and so what if there are a few extra pieces, the basis is good and it just gives a little bit more flexibility.

Lucysmam wondering if skin complaint got a good hold as you may have got a little run down with all the changes over Christmas, what with moving house, DP's job situation and the washer saga to name but a few. Hope you are seeing some improvement now and feeling better.

Smelly congrats on weight loss - hope I will be following in your successful footsteps soon.

Will check in later as have just realised what an epic post this is.... and need to go and check up on everyone.

ControlGeek · 31/01/2014 12:09

78 days to go

ControlGeek · 31/01/2014 12:30

Flipping heck ladies, it's all kicking off over here, isn't it Grin Lovely to see so many of you around.

lucysmam poor dd1, that's gone on for a while for her now. I hope it starts to clear up soon. The same goes for you and dd2's impetigo. Good advice from dili on your makeup, you def don't want it contaminating that. How are you feeling today? Be really careful of the mn cut - it works best on long/medium hair, imho, and I think yours is shoulder length still?

dili sounds like vouchers well spent, well done! Loving the sound of your boots and wedges, too. Pics on fb, pretty please? I luuurrrve your list. Very jealous that you have managed your 333 wardrobe, that is quite incredible.

style oh dear, that sounds like a nightmare. Is everything ok now? How about yoghurt with fresh fruit for breakfast, or something eggy? I'm not a breakfast person so am probably not best placed to advise. Ohhhh just thought - eggs benedict, yummm Smile

smelly well done on your weight loss. January's a really hard month isn't it? I think Christmas should be moved to late January/early February to lift everyone's spirits. Eyes on the prize though, lovely, a nice holiday in February sounds perfect .

helga yay! You're still here Smile Aww bless your poor dd. So pleased your DH is fine again, that must have been worrying. Re eyestrain, two monitors are supposed to be better than one, because it gives your eyes greater movement (I've worked with two for years) but it's better to have then further away than you would have a single monitor. Also lots of breaks, looking at the far wall/out the window etc.

All is ok here, clinging on to hope for a successful outcome but trying to be realistic as it all went very badly tbh. I've started wearing small amounts of makeup again, and trying to at least think about my clothes before I put them on!! I've given my hair a couple of weeks of the straighteners but think when I go back to work next week I'm going to start needing to use them with a vengeance again. Vits daily, coffee is still decaff (missing my starbucks while I'm off though Sad).

Insomnia is pants Sad Last night was the worst yet - 2am and wide awake. Then one of the cats started playing up so kicked him out. Then I had a nightmare and had to wake DP up for comfort. Then DP woke up with cramp that lasted about half an hour. Then the other cat started fighting her reflection in my floor mirror. Then it was time for DP to get up. Then he woke me up wanting to know which of two ties he should wear Confused I nearly answered that it wouldn't matter, I'd happily strangle him with either! Aaaargh!

ControlGeek · 31/01/2014 12:37

Oops - hadn't finished scrolling before posting! wolfcub that is incredible! Remind me how you are losing it?

style oh crikey, poor ds1 and dd1, hope they are both feeling better now. How scary for you and for them. A day at home sounds perfect!

StyleOverSubstance · 31/01/2014 13:49

thanks ladies for concern and good wishes - am going to settle down with them all on the settee now and watch a film, we have decided to designate today a duvet day and everyone still in onesies or pjs.

Wolfcub · 31/01/2014 19:56

Controllers, I'm using the hairy dieters cookbook for all meals eaten at home and trying to keep breakfast and lunch to 550 calls or less combined. I am still having at least one alcoholic drink a day through, if I didn't I'd have more calls for lunch!

Wolfcub · 31/01/2014 20:04

Controlgeek not controllers, my spell checker is a nightmare

lucysmam · 31/01/2014 20:52

Good evening Smile ...this one's going to be little posts because I can't scroll on app & can't remember who posted what!

Helga glad to hear your dp is feeling better, eye test is a good idea. I get killer headaches behind my eyes staring at a screen too long (I blame mn for that Grin ). Ice pops are good for teething or cooled, cut up grapes (I think your dd might be a little young but can't remember, sorry).

lucysmam · 31/01/2014 20:53

getoffthephonenoworelse · 31/01/2014 21:06

Hi all, this thread is keeping me motivated. Started back at the shred about 12 days ago and have stopped buying crisps and biscuits. I have to say I am noticing a difference in my clothes already. I hav'nt weighed myself as I know if is doesn't show immediately on the scales I begin to lose heart. Dh is trying to lose a few pounds as well and with him not going to buy us "treats" to eat at night while we watch ty is definatley making sticking to a weight loss plan easier than before. The dc are noticing that there are no biscuits or sweets in the house but they moan about most things so one more thing wont make a difference!!

lucysmam · 31/01/2014 23:01

I got a bit distracted...dd2 now has an itchy rash under her neck and under her arms Confused Poor thing's had me sat on the floor stroking her head for hours (& she has that funny poorly smell going on!)

Will finish my post tomorrow as am off to bed in case she's up in the night & wants more of the same.

Dilidali · 31/01/2014 23:15

lucysmum, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but your little DD2 has had this since at least tuesday, when you saw the GP? And rather than subsiding, it is spreading further? Is that right? I would go back to the GP, have another look and be on the safe side. Hope you all get better soon. :)

lucysmam · 01/02/2014 12:32

Just a quicky - Dilidali, she's seen ooh doc this morning & now has antibiotics, got to give them 48hrs and if no better then back we go again. Think we're keeping the NHS in business this week all on our own Confused

StyleOverSubstance · 01/02/2014 13:25

1st Feb I'm back on the princess plan today, so have got to get back on track now. Not wearing make-up today, although done my hair as am having an 'at home/tidy up' day starting the house princessing, so have already sorted out some of the DCs clothes and am clearing and tidying as I work my way though. (Decided to start a sort of spring clean thing early as it ties in with my original plan - and judging by the state of some of the rooms I am going to need the extra time). Am also sorting through the toys too, as there are certain ones that just don't get played with now and others where there are pieces missing or some other minor problem - you know, the usual things, so am going to be a little more ruthless about getting rid as if I ask the DCs they wont part with anything much and we just don't have the space to keep everything.

Am going to tidy up eyebrows today whilst the light is good (not overcast here) and then do a proper exfoliate/de-fuzz/moisturise when I have my bath later. Have ordered myself some new make-up too, one item ready for collection today and other will be ready early next week.

Anyone tried the Footner thing that has been raved about on other threads? Am wondering whether to give it a go in readiness for summer rather than leaving it till the last minute.

Hope you are all having a good day.

Dilidali · 02/02/2014 08:33

Hello all!
lucy, bless her! Glad she got seen. Has it subsided a bit?
style goodness me!!! Glad they're fine, what a day!
wolf, that's an amazing weight loss!
getoff, sounds like you're doing really well! I don't own scales, I measure by how tight my clothes are Grin.

Nails done, got the pedicure to do today. I noticed driving the other day, the spring is on it's way! Shoots of fresh green, snowdrops and the daffs are pretty tall too! We had a pretty mild winter, temperature wise, didn't we, it was just wet!

Lunch out with the clan, got a spotty Joules dress, black boots, should work.

Have a restful Sunday :)

Oh, 76 days to go :)

StyleOverSubstance · 02/02/2014 13:09

Morning all - only 76 days to go I am going to have to make each one of the remaining days count then!!

Outfit sounds lovely Dili hope you have a nice day - agree with you signs of spring have sprung, as the saying goes. Just hope we have a nice summer to make up for the very wet weather over winter.

Am carrying on with the house princessing more than anything at the moment as have my 'walking wounded' from Thursdays incidents, so am using the time spent at home to carry on with that - fortunately they seem to be making a good recovery and staying in rather than going out like we would normally do over the weekend has helped them recover.

Am going to go out and do some food shopping shortly as some of our supplies are low due to not being able to get out on Friday.

Hope everyone else ok - lucy your household sounds like ours at the moment, but you are visiting the doctors rather than hospital.

Control your joke about strangling your DH with a tie made me smile at a time I needed to most, thank you Cake hope all going well for you, despite insomnia (which is the pits).

Wolf and Getoff very impressed with your will-power (or won't power) re weightloss. Any tips gratefully accepted!

Will check in again tomorrow to keep me on the straight and narrow!
