Is MIC last episode on tonight again?

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:07

You get ££££ for Boden on EBay dry love the name change!
marsha don't own up to EVERYTHING. Disastrous!

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2014 21:08

Only the clothes ones Shop Grin. Is that still disastrous? Probably is!

RubyLovesShopping · 01/01/2014 21:12

Would echo all the sentiments about how supportive you all are. I read this thread for ages and then dipped in and out whilst trying to find my way clothes wise, I'm not there yet but it's better. I also enjoy the style talk I have fab friends but they're not bothered about good quality fabrics or construction and one of them thinks per una is the Bees knees. I think they think I am nuts with all my 'odd online companies' - by this they mean my outnet, dressing room etc purchases.
Novice-pm coming
Does anyone have any matches codes that are still valid and work on sale stuff?
Marsha I've been browsing this eve and seen loads of summer dresses- what colours?

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:13

May need you lovely people tomorrow. DH is saying it's time to get our faithful old lab out down. 13 years is a good innings but he's lame and elderly now. DH says it's no longer fair :(
We'll see, not even sure the vet will do it same day?

SilverSixpence · 01/01/2014 21:14

Hi can I join you? I will probably lurk mostly but have realised I am completely uninspired by high st tat and could buy much nicer pieces which will last instead. I have a decent budget but tend to blow it in lots of clothes that don't last or I get sick of.

I have just bought a couple of things from J crew, a tippi jumper and some jewellery, and some Boden bistro trousers and a petite trench. Trying to stick to things that match together or with what I already have.

Just went to a boutique today and ogled the gorgeous Paul&joe, Alice &Olivia and Proenza Schuler bags, I am smitten Smile

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:16

Welcome Silver any links? Would love to see......

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2014 21:16

Oh shop that's sad Sad some vets will do it same day if it's best for the pet but I do know others will give you a few days to go home and have some special final time with your pet if it doesn't mean any extra suffering. I hate seeing pets go, they become such an important part of family life Sad

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2014 21:17

Ruby anything pretty and cotton. But I don't want to spend too much, hoping for a big discount and after that around £50.

Silver yes welcome. Smile

Aw Shop yes we'll be here, so sad. Poor lovely lab and you.

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2014 21:19

Welcome silver do you have pinterest at all?

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:21

Will be terrible for DH. He's had him longer than he's known me. When DH got divorced they used to sit at home together both eating sirloin steak while DH sobbed! Such a lovely old dog, real old faithful.
Anyway. We'll see. May not happen yet.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2014 21:24

Aww. My parents had three labs, they're all gone now. But dad had a loyal, lovely one at the end that kept him company when off work for a bit.

Mignonette · 01/01/2014 21:26

Shop.

Dogs are the coolest friends in bad times aren't they?

That is a tear jerking story.

Most decisions are predicated upon how distressed the dog is by his/her age. If he isn't distressed then maybe there is a little more time.

I hope. Flowers

NoDrywhitepleaseeveragain · 01/01/2014 21:30

Shop that's really heartbreaking, such a difficult decision. I'll be here to give you a hug if you need one.
Novice thinking of you Thanks
Silver we sound very similar. This thread has helped me curb my quantity/quality problems, it's still a work in progress though.

My final resolution is to wait until summer sales to buy my holiday clothes, I always get excited and start buying in February then regret it when I see everything reduced before I've even been on holiday. Please remind me of this if I buy a summer dress when it's snowing!Smile

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2014 21:33

I've just checked my body measurements again and I've lost a further half inch from both waist and hips Grin I'm finding measuring myself a more reliable indicator than the scales. Obviously, the fit of my clothes is also very telling.

Dry I will be the first to remind you if you purchase summer clothes ahead of schedule!

SilverSixpence · 01/01/2014 21:35

Thanks for the welcome all

Shopafrolic my sympathy to you and your DH, sounds v upsetting.

I don't have links as phone isn't cooperating and on holiday so no laptop available. Will try adding to Pinterest my board is here but not v worthy of MN Vogue yet!

justasecond · 01/01/2014 21:40

Aw Shop that's so sad
Welcome to Silver!
Ruby None of my RL friends love clothes, bags, shoes etc as much as me. I sometimes feel a but guilty for spending so much compared to them but I have always loved clothes. Even as a youngster I remember looking through the mothercare catalogue and begging mum to buy me a dress! I love looking at what other people are wearing too as to me it's a creative expression.

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2014 21:43

At ds1's last school there were quite a few stylists and fashion people. And it was brilliant, lots of Marant, APC and vintage. It was fun to do the compliment swapping etc

But then we swapped schools, and it's not so fashiony. So I go out to my fave place to get my fix. And here.

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:44

Not sure we stack up to the fix you get there Marsha but if we're anywhere close I take it as a huge compliment Thanks

shopafrolic · 01/01/2014 21:47

My oldest and closest friends are not as interested in fashion as I am. Much better in my clubbing / Manchester days. And when I was working with agencies etc....I get my fix from my hairdresser (does LFW), some fab london gay friends who work in media and one recent new mummy friend who I chatted up at a playgroup having spotted her Hermes cuff!
Was so pleased when I found this thread

MarshaBrady · 01/01/2014 21:47

No way. You guys rock. Good stuff.

Actually I have another confession. I sent back the Rag & Bone dress. You were all sooo nice I felt bad. But I have a new rule. If I can't wear it out to were we go then I shouldn't keep it (unless I have an actual party to wear it to, then I can buy). It's not overly dressy so I would have felt out of place in the dress and heels.

But still looking for a dress for going out, just not quite that dressy.

NoDrywhitepleaseeveragain · 01/01/2014 21:51

Yup, another fashion addict here, magazines, blogs, costume museums, fabric shops, people watching etc love love love. Here I get guilt free/judgement free immersion in wonderful fashion and lots of inspiration.

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2014 21:55

I love fashion and fabrics. No one I know is into it in the same way as me though. My sister loves clothes but she's very ....standard in what she buys, she has a fixed idea of how she wants to dress and she never strays beyond that whereas I'm very into trying all kinds of different clothes. I love new textures and finding new combinations of things. I may not have a designer budget but even on the high street, you can find a wealth of good stuff if you take the time to rummage around and go hunting for the gems.

NoDrywhitepleaseeveragain · 01/01/2014 21:55

My friend received this bag in navy for Christmas. Saw it today, a really lovely bag. The quality is great, lovely soft leather and loads of space.

OneLittleLady · 01/01/2014 22:05

that bag looks lovely dry lucky friend
