Dry I did that for the Millennium - including lots of silly hats! Really good fun.

QueenCadbury · 30/12/2013 12:43

What do you think of this necklace. My SIL bought it for me in purple. I can see why she did as it is a me style but I'm a bit of a jewellery snob (v weird when I'm happy to wear chep clothes!) and prefer real jewels. WIBU to return it Confused

Looking at the reviews I'd say it'll be fine!
Place looks lovely QueenC - beware of fashion stalkers now!

Hi all-

Happy Birthday to the MNV children Cake. My daughter is 26 on January 4th - cannot believe I have a grown up child!

We are doing our usual New Years with friends where we all bring food. We are a real mixture- Austrian, American, Polish, Spanish, Australian, Russian, Japanese (that was last year) and we all bring traditional food from our countries and play weird games. The Austrian one involves melting lumps of metal in a spoon over a flame, throwing the molten metal into a bowl of water and making predictions according to whatever shape it forms into. We looked like a load of Smack heads all hunched over our spoons Xmas Grin.

I am coveting that Libelula dress in the Telegraph magazine yesterday here. It was styled with a shimmery patterned piece of ribbon tied round the waist.

Anybody seen anything similar? I don't want to spend too much on a party dress although knowing me, I'd wear it to Waitrose!

sleep exactly the soup I was planning, red Thai and roasted b nut sq ,but may have to avoid.
anni I'm a bit nervous! I like to stick to one type of drink only, not sure how I'm going to manage with all that mixing house plants may get extra "watering" Xmas Wink

libertychick · 30/12/2013 13:55

I'm good for the 8th Feb too - how exciting - what is the plan???

Sleep can I email you for more hints and tips? Now that xmas is out of the way and I have mastered caffeine free living I'm thinking of eliminating sugar as my January challenge.

Back at work today (boo). Still not 100% well - throat ok but have a cough that's refusing to go away.

Novice well done on being grown up - I would not be impressed with a friend getting narky about stuff like that.

Lovely dress mig I'll keep an eye out.

libertychick · 30/12/2013 13:56

NYE will be quiet with us I think. Love the sound of your plan Dry.

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2013 14:01

Your NYE sound very interesting Dry we are having a quiet one and not going out as I'm just not up to it. I told DP I wouldn't mind if he went out but he insists that he doesn't want to leave me sat in my own. Remember to drink some water between all the mixing of drinks Dry it will help you feel less awful the following day Grin

foxysocks · 30/12/2013 14:33

if I order from J Crew right this second what do you think the chances are of getting it by saturday?? are there lots of US holidays this week, or just 1st Jan? HELP!

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2013 14:52

That dress is lovely mig

Off to the panto today to see Cinderella. MIl is picking me up so I don't have to walk much, feel like I'm being really lazy and imposing on everyone but I am struggling to get around atm.

Have been dipping in and out of my wardrobe, trying things on and piling up what's too big to send to novice I'd forgotten how many nice things were in there as I'd only been wearing a few things!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 14:56

Argh Foxy not sure, I haven't done a J Crew order yet. Hopefully someone will be here soon!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 14:58

Ok this M by MJ jumper. Love the colours. Really love them, they are very rich and warm.

But I'm worried about sturdiness due to the holes. If you look at the pic on NaP it shows holes across the jumper as part of the design.

Will upload pics on mnv, let me know what you think.

foxysocks · 30/12/2013 15:00

I really like that jumper marsha. will look out for pics, just need to dash out and pick up a prescription

argh re: j crew, I might risk it??? they are usually so fast, and today is a normal working day. if worst comes to worst might be able to get someone to take them in for me but I really want a couple of tees to take with me. argh!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 15:01

I know it's such a risk. Is it worth an email? I like to know things will arrive in time too.

foxysocks · 30/12/2013 15:04

good call, have emailed. I like the colours but am not sure on those holes. agree could be a little irritating. will look again at Nap once I get home later, lovely. x

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 15:05

We're all bobbing along to Neil Diamond here, love a bit of Neil.

Pretty dress Mig.

And Dry has put the next date for a mu on mnv, everyone welcome. Let us know if you can make it!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 15:05

Thanks Foxy.

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2013 15:18

Love the colours of the jumper marsha but I'm not sure about the holes because of the placement of them, I think there could be a high snag risk.

Sleepwhenidie · 30/12/2013 15:32

One relax! let other people look after you for a change Smile

Liberty of course happy to help!

My early planning/discussion of fancy dress for nye came to nothing, got overtaken by lots of other stuff so I have robin outfit again, I am secretly hoping the weather will be so bad we won't want to venture out!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 15:36

Thanks One I think you may be right. Have fun at the panto.

The dc saw The Tiger Came to Tea recently, they love it.

foxysocks · 30/12/2013 15:45

oooo neil sings DS's favourite song Grin so cute hearing him sing it!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 30/12/2013 15:47

Mig, that dress is exquisite!

I'm in the countryside today and totally forgot we were going to some friends' for dinner so I will have to turn up in my not very formal outfit of skinny grey jeans and a chunky cashmere jumper. Oh, and biker boots. I need a PA to manage my calendar! Xmas Grin

shopafrolic · 30/12/2013 16:45

Foxy DH company is US based and they are on shutdown NYE and NYD but not sure if that is countrywide.........
Marsha love the colours of that jumper but I am rubbish ATM with anything with holes as picking DS up all the time means lots of snags. Helmut Lang holey knit is trashed already :(
Liberty that makes four for Feb 8th MU which is fab. Lunch somewhere I guess. Any preferences?
Mig can you make one of the dates being thrown around? It'd be lovely to finally meet you.

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2013 16:53

Finally managed to get dressed. Black, knee length double jersey skirt, the M-MK leopard print top as gifted to me and simple pearl drop earrings. Have tried out the Elemis skincare that was given to me at christmas by MIL and my skin feels lovely. Will see how I get on with it over the next few days but given how nice my face feels, I think this may be something I am willing to pay out for regularly.

shopafrolic · 30/12/2013 17:07

Loads of 7FAM skinnies on the Outnet today.....
