My DH buzz kills everything I buy - doesn't like patterns, anything that isn't skin tight, flat shoes etc etc. i just ignore him as left to his own devices he'd dress me like someone from TOWIE.

MarshaBrady · 29/12/2013 22:02

Me too. And he doesn't even go for the dressed up look that much. What would he go for hmm probably Cheap Mondays, tshirt and green army jacket with messy blonde hair a la when we met. All half price from eBay.

shopafrolic · 29/12/2013 22:07

Am back. Made it out alive.
Marsha I'm in town every 6-8 wks for hair but could try for something else with planning. So next date would be mid to end April I suppose? Someone else pick a date and I'll try hard to be there.

MarshaBrady · 29/12/2013 22:13

You gotta be there Shop. Will think about a date, maybe put a few options on MNV.

Drywhiteplease · 29/12/2013 22:15

Amber happy birthday to your DS tomorrow. I know how it feels, like you I'm a dec birthday and dD is too, DS is jan, so by the end of jan I can put the Sellotape away and breath again! Bikes are such brilliant presents for kids aren't they? He's going to have a great time wiz zing around on that .

Fashion wise I've looked like a slob all day and inexplicably feel like buying holiday clothes I blame Barbie DH and I were planning our summer hols, now I "need" holiday wear. At the end of the summer holidays I always come home itching to buy winter stuff, after Christmas my mind turns to warm weather stuff idiot optimist, 4 months of freezing still to gomust be my distant past in retail......Hmm

Drywhiteplease · 29/12/2013 22:21

Shop glad you made it and are ok.

Good god.....if DH had his way I'd be in fleeces and all round pleats I'm sure

shopafrolic · 29/12/2013 22:24

DH would dress me in tweeds. Hmm

OneLittleLady · 29/12/2013 22:29

Dp doesn't say much, if anything about my clothes. He just leaves me to it and is never negative no matter what I wear and to be honest, I'm known for being 'quirky' in my clothing choices both in individual items and the way I put things together Grin

MarshaBrady · 29/12/2013 22:57

Ha at these. Well one your dp is off the hook.

Which reminds me I managed to spend the £100 credit in the swap shop. Finally! I only did it for a Celine jacket, which was too big anyway so I shouldn't have got it. But took a few things there and they all sold so I got a Yohji Yamamoto green jacket.

So 6 tired designer things for one tired designer thing, not very efficient. Grin. I mean vintage.

Sleepwhenidie · 29/12/2013 23:45

Hi everyone, quick hello, busy 'holiday' here. Amber it is my ds2's birthday tomorrow too! I am totally with you re wrapping paper Hmm. Rubbish time for a birthday...

I'm not avoiding you all by the way-DH and I have had a Very Serious Talk about reining in the spending over the next couple of months. I also have lots of studying to distract me so am avoiding looking at anything that might tempt me in the sales Smile. You lot are a very bad influence!

Shop I think I can do 8th Feb!

Barbie1 · 30/12/2013 01:06

Post reported, thanks shop and ruby

Happy birthday to both of your boys amber and sleep. It's my sisters New Year's Eve, my dad's the 12th jan and mine the 11th! I then have my Ds turning 2 on the 28th jan and my dd turning for on the 21st feb. So the next 6 weeks are mad with birthdays!

I don't know if I have said before but it's my husband who is the keen shopper! He was the one who sorted out my NAP wish list Blush I just edit and add...then he buys Grin I'm banned from checking it right now as it has my birthday presents on there. Will do a pin board of what I receive.

marsha love the oversize coat, unfortunately I couldn't wear one due to only being 5,3 Sad

News years has been cancelled, the sick bug is crippling the expat community so we are opting for a quiet night in. I will be amazed if we even stay awake until mid night!

Love to hear what you are all doing and the fabulous outfits...

BrandyAlexander · 30/12/2013 08:14

Morning! Happy birthday to the MNV dcs!!!Thanks

Sleep and Shop, I think I can do 8th Feb!

So having had a horrendous day on Saturday with dd, yesterday was much better. Thank goodness, as it was quite depressing constantly shouting at her on Saturday.

We also had friends round yesterday. These are friends who have been upset with us because i forgot to send their dcs birthday presents earlier this year. I genuinely thought we had acknowledged their birthdays but in the midst of a horrendous cycle of family illnesses and work travel. Anyway, end result, lots of tension between us and I had to be the bigger person yesterday.Hmm

Fashion wise, I have 3 packages here but haven't had the chance to open them! I also did a John Lewis shop, picked up a couple of tops, including a Ted Baker top which I think might be quite pretty on. Will find and link. Also did a small M&S shop too. I think that might be my sales shopping for this year! As I say, not v inspired. Although dh are going to John Lewis this afternoon as the shoes I bought him for Christmas are too big so might have a teeny look around.Wink

Drywhiteplease · 30/12/2013 08:28

Mint Velvet order due today between 15.33-16.33 exactly! Pretty impressive text by DPD.
Am I a bit silly ordering a pair of trs I already have? "Only" £45. I have saved them for going out so they stay very black, but actually would like to wear them daytime too. Hmm WWMD?

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 08:39

Lol Dry. It's a good idea. See what you feel like when they turn up. I always find it easier to know when I'm home with the thing I've bought.

I must remember the M b MJ jumper is here today. Not sure if I'll keep it now I have the Filippa K one. Am pleased the jumper cost has reduced over last week too. From wildly expensive to £65.

Barbie1 · 30/12/2013 08:43

Morning Smile I missed a delivery. Only went to corner shop for a chocolate fix for 10 mins max. Hope you are more successful than me.

drywhite yes I would order another pair. I always by two sets of jeans/ trousers and keep one for evening.

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 08:44

Barbie that is very nice of your dh. Good one!

Novice did I miss the bags? Did you keep both? Fabulous if so!

Sleep I go for ages not buying stuff sometimes. Not sure what I post about then, style fluff.

shopafrolic · 30/12/2013 09:05

Yay Sleep and Novice - MU will be lovely! Any other takers?
Liberty how are you feeling?
Dry I've done that before. With favourite jumpers or favourite shoes. Oh and perfect fitting jeans.
Barbie quiet night in here for NYE. I'll probably be asleep at midnight!
Happy Birthday MNV minis.

Sleepwhenidie · 30/12/2013 09:38

Barbie my birthday is 12 Jan, fellow Capi's!

Novice well done on taking the grown up approach. I don't get people who take offence over things like that - I'm sure the kids didn't! Life gets in the way sometimes.

Dry if you love the trousers a second pair is a good idea I think!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2013 09:45

Dry I'd happily have 2 x pettys. One for mucky parks etc.

Drywhiteplease · 30/12/2013 10:47

Sleep while you're on....did you see my butternut question? Is it a carb? Thanks.

NYE ....I'm going round the world! We are going to stay at friends' who have children same age as ours. She's come up with the brilliant idea of going round the world. So every hour, children included, we will eat, drink and play a game from one country. Ok it's a bit loose but sounds like fun. So, I'm doing Mexico (cheesy nachos, enchiladas and marguerita) then Spain (tapas and sangria of course) then china (M and S Chinese nibbles and god knows what drink) ....she's doing Italy (mini pizzas and Italian wine I guess) America (mini burgers and Long Island iced tea) and at midnight we're doing UK (I think that'll be pudding and fizz) Not very authentic but should be fun.

Annianni · 30/12/2013 11:04

Blimey Dry Shock
I'd be shitfaced rather tipsy doing that!

Good luck! :o

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2013 11:13

Sleep my birthday is also the 12th of Jan Grin

Happy birthday to MNV DC's today!

Sleepwhenidie · 30/12/2013 11:35

dry that sounds cool! I missed your squash question, but they are carb heavy vegetables, so someone on a low carb diet would avoid them. My own approach would be to have it as an alternative to white carbs though. Soup made with roasted butternut, chilli and ginger is a big favourite of mine - add a tsp of creme fraiche, some chilli toasted seeds and a squeeze of lime to serve.

Sleepwhenidie · 30/12/2013 11:49

Wow One, what a coincidence Grin!!
