She looked amazing today & 20 years younger than her true age.

Surely some of you must remember it is not all that long ago that she was regularly in the press going on about her blissfully happy marriage, the things she cooked for him, how he liked her to be curvey - all that does colour my view a little about the present situation. I rather thought John diamond encouraged her to pursue relationship with cs as an option that offered security. Anyway, she looks fantastic, but nothing on the looks front can compensate for the loss of mother, sister and husband to cancer and the breakdown of this marriage in such unhappy circumstances.

If he has been abusive she really does have my sympathy, but she also needs to have a think about the impact her lifestyle exposure is having on other people at a time when many are struggling. Her noblesse oblige gene seems to be rather underdeveloped, shall we say.

ExcuseTypos · 07/12/2013 10:55

BoffinMum, how can you say "if he has been abusive". There's photographic evidence of his abuse as well as her evidence, on oath, of his abuse. Please don't suggest you don't believe her.

Also this "lifestyle exposure" you talk about. It's not exactly her decision to talk about it. She's giving evidence in a fraud trial.

BoffinMum · 07/12/2013 11:02

Well it looked like abuse to me as well.
Point taken about the fraud trial but I can't imagine a situation where I let a member of staff make merry with my money like that. Or even myself, to be frank.

I'm a bit tired of the sympathy vote going to Nigella because of the loss of her mum, sister and DH. She's 53- many women of her age have lost both parents. My mum, by that age, had lost her father ( at 16) , mother and younger brother. It doesn't matter what they died from imo.

Similarly I know of two women who lost their husbands to brain tumours in their 30s, and their parents soon afterwards.

Nigella looks ok for her age- many of my friends around that age look the same and don't spend what she supposedly can and does on treatments and everything money can buy to keep up the maintenance.

I don't begrudge her it at all, but let's accept that her life has not been that unusual in some respects, and she's had the benefits of a privileged childhood and adult life.

She looks absolutely fucking fantastic and I doubt even one person on this thread will come close to looking so beautiful at 53.

varigatedivy · 07/12/2013 17:22

she's not outstanding for 53- maybe you don't know many 53 year olds in RL who look good? I do:)
53s not old and tbh if you can afford fillers and facials and then a make up artist to sort you out before you face the press- well, need we say more? Lots of women aged 53 could and do look that good.
she's had work done because if you compare the before CS and after CS photos in the press, her face is very different.

valiumredhead · 07/12/2013 17:32

I agree vari,I have friends that are turning 50 now and look amazing, my step mother is 58 and could give Nigella a run for her money.

polyhymnia · 07/12/2013 17:42

Just to agree with others that, though she did look stunning, it's not extraordinary for a modern 53-year-old to look that good - and she's clearly had the aid of the best possible fillers, work, etc.

People who are amazed don't perhaps have a very realistic and up to date idea of what 50 plus looks like nowadays.

MrsYoungSalvoMontalbano · 07/12/2013 17:48

Haven't read the whole thread and agree she has probably had some discreet work done, but I remember reading some time ago that she never goes out ever without sun-protection for her skin. As most wrinkles etc caused by sun -damage, that would count for a lot. ( Remember she wore a hideous burkini on a beach in Oz once?

Twinklestein · 07/12/2013 17:58

I think she's had a face lift since she spilt up with Saatchi as well as fillers, and she looks very good on it.

I think it would be a shame if the eyewatering sums involved in the Saatchis's lifestyle distracts people from what is basically an abusive relationship. She wasn't even allowed to have dinner parties! She's a cook!

She left him and trying to destroy her reputation is his revenge.

She may have taken coke, most people I know have tried it at some point, but I don't believe she's an addict.
